The Davenport Hotel built in 1914 at a cost of 2 million dollars was closed in 1985 and considered for demolition until local entrepreneurs bought it in 2000. It took 2 years and millions of dollars to restore it. The hotel reopened in 2002.

Below - Marie Antoinette Ballroom. Each chandelier cost $10,000. A typical house in 1914 cost $8000. The dance floor is the original floating dance floor suspended on cables to help dancers stay light on their feet.
