NICOLAS FLAMEL
Dumbledore had convinced Harry not to go looking for the Mirror of Erised again, and for the rest of the Christmas holidays the
invisibility cloak stayed folded at the bottom of his trunk. Harry
wished he could forget what he'd seen in the mirror as easily, but he couldn't. He started having nightmares. Over and over again he dreamed about his parents disappearing in a flash of green light, while a high voice cackled with laughter.
"You see, Dumbledore was right, that mirror could drive you mad," said Ron, when Harry told him about these drearns.
Hermione, who came back the day before term started, took a different view of things. She was torn between horror at the idea of Harry being out of bed, roaming the school three nights in a row ("If Filch had caught you!"), and disappointment that he hadn't at least found out who Nicolas Flamel was.
They had almost given up hope of ever finding Flamel in a library book, even though Harry was still sure he'd read the name somewhere.
It was the first day with everyone coming back and everyone was swapping gifts with their friends that weren't here for Christmas. Hermione and Neville had gotten the same things Harry and Ron had from Amelia but instead, Neville's ornament was a fake plant and Hermiones a book. Amelia had also given similar gifts to Adam and Cedric but instead of an ornament, they were two necklaces that connected to say best friends. Amelia was shocked to find that they had all gotten her gifts as well("You guys didn't have to do this honestly"). Harry had given her a muggle chocolate bar telling her this was what real chocolate looked like and Ron got her sunglasses becouse her wand was so bright Hermione had protested saying it was rude but Amelia happily put them on. Neville had gotten her a small packet of flower seeds when the flowers were fully grown they would shoot small fireworks, and Hermione had gotten her a book about the history of metamorphmagus. Which Amelia had her nose in now as they walked down the hall to their first class. The most interesting present Amelia had got though was a pocket knife. It was four inches long with a pure silver blade that with one quick motion flew open. An engraving in silver was on the side of the knife. Prongs. Amelia hadn't shown it to anyone. It was waiting by the tree that day with a note saying that it was from her father and to hold it deer(not dear).
"A mirror you say? Fasaniteing." Amelia mumbled as Harry went on to tell them about the mirror.
"I'm telling you to stay away from that bloody thing it isn't good," mumbled Ron. "Did you know that metamorphmagus were nearly hunted to extinction in the belief that we were evil?" Amelia mumbled. Harry rolled his eyes Amelia would randomly say Did you know and then say some really weird fact often about animles. Harry didn't know that some frogs back their bones and use them as daggers or that pandas often give birth to twins only nursing one until a few hours ago.
"Strang. I have read all of Hogwarts a history but I don't ever remember hearing about a Mirror," Mummbled Hermione," I wonder if we could find it."
"Oh, not you too!" Ron shouted. "Don't worry about me I'm not going looking for it," muttered Neville.
"Of course, it wouldn't be in a book not one all students have at least. If it is in a book I bet it is in the Restricted Section. I would love to read through those books." Amelia sighed happily clutching the book she had closer to her.
"Maybe." Said Hermione.
