8 | SCREWED

Amelia sat behind Natasha's pilot seat to look out the windshield as Nat flew the crew to Wakanda, where Catalina promised help would be provided. Steve was already well acquainted with T'Challa. T'Challa gave Steve's longtime friend, Bucky, a place to refuge while he was in trouble. "Drop to 2,600. Heading 030." Steve instructed Natasha.

"I hope you're right about this,or we're gonna land a lot faster than you want to." Falcon spoke up to Catalina. He was entirely too skeptical of Catalina's advice to fly straight into a mountain and then Wakanda will appear.

"I didn't believe it at first either." Catalina mentioned, chuckling to herself at how ignorant one is before they are finally exposed to something.

Rest assured, within seconds the scenery changed. What once looked like forestry mountains turned into a city surrounded by waterfalls. It seemed as if they had all entered an alternate universe. And it was beautiful.

The jet swiftly landed before Wakanda's palace, where T'Challa and Okoye stood waiting for the visitors. The superheroes all exited the jet confidently, with the exception of Bruce, and locked their eyes onto T'Challa. "Should we bow?" Amelia heard Bruce whisper to Rhodey.

"Yeah, he's a king." Rhodey replied, sarcastically. Catalina was all the way in the back of the group and heard their quick remarks. She couldn't help but to chuckle.

Amelia's strides were in sync with Steve's. The two walked hand in hand together out of the jet and greeted T'Challa with a curt nod. Steve reached out and firmly shook his hand. "Seems like I'm always thanking you for something." Steve mentioned.

T'Challa simply smiled at Steve then diverted his attention to Amelia. "I don't think we've met." T'Challa eyed her.

"I've been dead." Amelia blatantly told.

T'Challa huffed then shrugged. "Sounds normal. I am T'Challa Udaku, King of Wakanda." He introduced himself.

"I am Amelia Stinson, um... a mother, and wife? Sounds kinda weak compared to you." Amelia joked.

"Weak? That is not something that should describe you, Ms. Stinson. You are one of the most powerful beings to ever cross Earth, and every human knows it. I am the one unknown here." T'Challa praised her.

"Oh, no. I know tons about you. Cata and I spent way too much time together." Amelia snickered, then stepped out of the way for T'Challa to greet the others.

Bruce then stood before T'Challa, cleared his throat and elegantly bowed before him. "What are you doing?" Rhodey inquired, confused as to why Bruce didn't get his hint of sarcasm.

"We don't do that here." T'Challa waved Bruce off and shot him a weary look. A sudden feeling of awkwardness overcame the group. So, Catalina ran up to T'Challa to break the tense silence. "Long time no see, eh?" Catalina hugged her husband.

"How'd the shopping go, Cata? It's been how long? Five days? I would've expected at least some new shoes." T'Challa sneered, referring to how Catalina had lied to him saying she was going to go shopping and was actually going to resurrect a dead girl and ended up helping the Avengers.

Catalina cringed. "Well..." She laughed.

"So how big of an assaultshould we expect?" T'Challa asked Steve as he spun on his heel to lead the team into the palace.

"Uh. Sir, I think you should expect quite a big assault." Bruce stammered over his words and nervously tripped over his own feet as he tried to warn T'Challa.

"How are we looking?" Natasha butt in.

"You will have my Kingsguard. The Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje. And—" T'Challa began, but stopped as he reached the destination in the palace where he wanted to go. The crew looked around then noticed a figure now standing before them— Bucky.

"A semi-stable 100-year old man." The man with a metal arm answered.

"Bucky?" Amelia gasped at the sight. She knew he was alive, hell he almost killed her while she was pregnant when she first discovered he was still alive. But, she didn't know that he was sane again. She didn't know he wasn't brainwashed anymore.

"Amelia Stinson. You haven't aged a day." Bucky opened his arms to embrace his old friend.

"It's my plastic surgeon." Amelia joked.

Bucky scoffed and let go of her. "Good to see you still have the same humor since the war. You still up for drinks, though?" Bucky winked at her, joking around about his old infatuation with Amelia and the date he would always bug her to get.

"Woah, woah, woah. I barely just got her back," Steve stepped in between the two, "how have you been, Buck?" He greeted Bucky with a hug.

"Eh. Not bad, for the end of the world." Bucky flashed his classic smile at Steve.

T'Challa led the team up to his sister's, Shuri, lab. She instantly began analyzing Vision to see if there was any way to save him and remove the infinity stone from his head. "The structure is polymorphic."

"Right. We had to attach eachneuron non-sequentially." Bruce explained, for he and Tony were the ones that created Vision.

"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?" Shuri asked Bruce, looking at him as if he were an idiot.

"Because... we didn't think of it?" Bruce spoke out hesitantly.

"I'm sure you did your best." Shuri snickered quietly to herself.

"Can you do it?" Wanda asked, worried for her lover.

"Yes, but there are more than 2 trillion neurons here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures. It will take time, brother." Shuri stated, confidently looking to Wanda.

"How long?" Steve asked.

"As long as you can give me." Shuri answered.

Suddenly, Okoye, T'Challa's military leader, received a message on her hologram communication device. "Something's entered the atmosphere." She lowly told T'Challa to avoid chaos.

But, she was too late. Loud explosions could be heard from the lab. Something was trying to get into Wakanda but was hitting the protective invisible shield that engulfed the city. "What's going on?" Amelia asked, she didn't have a com device so she was in the dark about what Bucky, Sam and Rhodey were seeing outside of the lab.

"We've got incoming." Was all Steve had to say and Amelia knew it was time to fight again.

"It's too late. We need to destroy the Stone now." Vision began to get up off of the lab table Shuri had placed him on.

"Vision, get your ass back on the table." Natasha snapped at him.

"We will hold them off." T'Challa denounced as he stepped forward. He looked over to Catalina auspiciously and shot her a quick nod.

"Wanda, as soon as that stone's out of his head, you blow it to hell." Steve muttered to her as everyone began to exit the lab.

"I will." Wanda assured, remaining by Vision's side.

"Evacuate the city, engage all defenses," T'Challa began to bark out orders to his generals, then he paused and took a quick look around at all of the superhero's following behind him. He noticed Cap's severe lack of weaponry, especially a shield, the sight was displeasing. "...and get this man a shield!" T'Challa shouted as he pointed over to Steve.

Valdís and Liviana landed just in time to see some outside invaders trying to invade Wakanda. "Now there's no fucking way we're getting in." Valdís groaned as she stared wildly at the scene. Hundred of metal objects were being launched at Wakanda, of course it was only hitting its out protective shield, but that meant that the shield wasn't going to let anyone in.

"You think now is the time to help?" Liv posed.

"From the outside? I don't even know what the hell we're dealing with? Hell, that's why we came here." Valdís sighed, running a tired hand through her greasy hair.

"It's the only way we could possibly get in. There's no turning back now." Liviana advised calmly.

"I guess we've gotta suit up then." Valdís moaned and trudged to the back of the jet to grab her things.

Amelia and the rest of the team were all transported to the edge of Wakanda, where the protective barrier stood. Bruce was equipped with a massive iron man suit, one that was used to stop Hulk in the past, since he was having some issues with summoning the green guy.

"I got two heat signatures breaking through the treeline." Rhodey reporter to the team through their coms, which Amelia was now equipped with.

Once everyone arrived to the edge of Wakanda, they all stood in formation in a daring way to confront the newfound enemy. Thousands of Wakandan soldiers were standing in perfect lines ready to attack at any given moment. In addition, the Jabari Tribe also joined Wakanda to fight the threat. Doubling the military numbers. The Avengers all grouped up at the front of the masses of soldiers and stared down the two aliens that were trying to attack Amelia and Vision. The duo stoop right outside of the barrier and analyzed the shield by poking at it a bit. "Where's the other friend?" Natasha queried, noting that they had a third accomplice when they encountered them before.

"He will pay for his life with yours. Thanos will have that stone." One alien, a woman Amelia presumed, divulged.

"That's not gonna happen." Steve muttered over to them, in a demeaning way.

"You are in Wakanda now. Thanos will have nothing but dust, and blood." T'Challa warned the enemies.

"We, have blood to spare." The woman alien pumped her weapon in the air, signaling for her troops to come down from the ships she landed right outside of Wakanda. Steve retook his position with Bucky further back by T'Challa's troops, while T'Challa, Catalina and Amelia stayed out close to the barrier. Amelia watched carefully as thousands of their own monstrosities charged toward the barrier. They looked like ferocious blood thirsty wolves.

"Yibambe!" T'Challa began chanting with his troops over and over and over again.

Amelia and Catalina backed up away from the barrier a bit, fearful that they'd somehow manage to peak through. And just as the two suspected, the monsters managed to stick their heads through the barrier. But, most of them would get their heads and arms chopped off in the process. "They're killing themselves." Catalina whispered to Amelia.

Within seconds, a few of them managed to get through, causing the troops to ready themselves. The monster ran like brainless savages straight for whoever was closest. What were a few of them turned into hundreds of them managing to get through the barrier. Amelia grabbed the gun she had been provided with and began to shoot at all of the monsters that were coming straight for her. She back up until she stood behind some of the troops, for she realized she wasn't strong enough to be standing in the front lines by herself. Catalina followed pursuit and sniped whatever enemy she could from a semi-protected area.

Before long, the monsters began to realize that they needed to circle around the entire perimeter, so off they went. "Cap, if these things circle the perimeter and get in behind us, there's nothing between them and Vision." Someone spoke up into the com.

"Then we better keep them in front of us." Steve responded.

"How do we do that?" Okoye inquired.

Steve paused, because he wasn't entirely sure. Nevertheless, they we're conveniently blessed with a distraction beginning to occur from outside the barrier. Fires began lighting up the surrounding forest and the enemy creatures were catching on fire. The other creatures noticed the bright fires and redirected their attention from circling the perimeter to attacking whoever was starting the fire. "What's going on, who is that?" T'Challa queried, looking around and wondering who was causing that.

"Can't tell. I'm picking up two heat signatures though." Sam scoped the outside area by flying near the barrier.

"Oh my god." Steve palmed his forehead.

"What? We don't have time for surprises, Steve." Amelia jeered at him.

"It's our kids." Steve realized. He knew that Val was always wanting in on some action, and he knew Liviana must've found a way to find out where he was.

Amelia remained silent. She didn't know what to make of the situation. But she did know one thing: they were going to die out there if the barrier wasn't opened. "Open the barrier!" Amelia exclaimed frantically. She already lost her children once before, she wasn't about to lose them again.

"We open the barrier. On my signal, open northwest section 17... now!" T'Challa ordered his people. He was a bit skeptical, but he knew it had to be done. It would stop the creatures from circling Wakanda and it'd save the twins. Then, the barrier began to slowly open. The creatures began to pile in and Wakanda's troops began storming toward the enemy to fight. Amelia's legs pushed her farther than anyone else, she was in the front now and she wasn't going to let anything stop her from destroying what was in between her and her daughters. Steve followed pursuit and began fighting off the creatures that were swarming them. Amelia didn't hesitate to rip out their throats and shoot their heads off with her gun.

On the outside, Liv and Val were doing the same thing. Val and Liv were entirely surrounded by the creatures and only strived to survive and kill the creatures. "There's too many of them!" Val screamed as she blasted flames from her palms to burn the creatures. The heat from the flames were killing the two, they were sweaty and fatigued already from the intense heat.

"We're so screwed." Val whines and she pushed through.

"No we're not! Keep. Going." Liv grunted as she forced tree roots to rapidly grow and wrap around the creatures' feet and trap them.

On the inside of the barrier, the creatures were starting to take over. Many of them managed to pin down Steve and Bruce. Amelia tried to help, but it was no use. There was simply too many of them. But, they were conveniently blessed, again. A bright white light beamed down onto the ground and revealed a short-haired Thor, a weaponized raccoon and a walking tree. "What the he—" Val began to curse as she eyed the scene from afar.

Amelia, who was close to the transport, stared wide eyed at Thor. "Thor?" She called.

Thor quickly ridded the creatures that were trying to attack her. "Lady Lia? You're alive?" Thor hurried over to her.

"Oh brother, a cliche damsel in distress. Just wait 'till Quill hears about this!" The raccoon sneered.

"You have... short hair? And you have an axe now?" Amelia was in shock as to why he'd cut his magnificent hair.

"Long story." Thor brushed it off.

"Ooooooo, these bitches are soooo screwed now!" Amelia jumped up and charged to the next enemy.

Thor turned to the two aliens that brought the fight to Wakanda. "Bring me Thanos!" Thor shouted at them then began to charge at them. He was suddenly swarmed with thousands of creatures, but he took care of that with his new axe by jumping up and striking all of the monsters with lighting.
