19 | ASSEMBLE

A small knock came from Amelia's bedroom door the day after her little meltdown in front of the others. Amelia carefully opened the door and peeled through the crack of the door to see who it was. It was Catalina. "I heard we've finally got a plan." Catalina told, letting herself in by pushing open the door.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be here while you all were time traveling and all, but, I had a country to run. But I need my T'Challa much more than I need the approval of who's left of Wakanda." Catalina clenched her jaw, clearly stressed out about her time serving as queen to a country.

"We need everyone back. Valdís hasn't been the same since Peter disappeared." Amelia mentioned.

Catalina grabbed Amelia's hand and squeezed it. "I'm sorry for the harsh things I said to you at your child's funeral. No one deserves to be spoken to in such a way especially after a tragedy. I was hurt and my hopes were obliterated. I hope we can still be good friends." Catalina apologized.

"I know firsthand what it's like saying things we don't mean to those we care for." Amelia forgave her. Catalina gave Amelia a hug.

"When this is all finally over, we can go back to New Asgard and finally be together." Thor ascertained.

Rhea turned to face him and chuckled. "Of course. I have a few loose ends to tie up after Banner does the snap to bring everyone back, but, after that we are free."

"We could have children." Thor bid.

Rhea snickered. "Or, we could just get a dog."

"I want a large family." Thor ignored her dismissal of having children.

"A cat sounds nice." Rhea continued to dismiss his wild dreams. She knew eventually he'd likely get what he wanted, but she didn't want to move so fast just yet. She needed to make sure those relying on her were okay. Asa needed to be safe and secure; Phoebe and Cassiopeia needed to be found.

Everyone was in the lab, nervously watching as Bruce readied himself to put on the gauntlet Tony had made to hold all of the infinity stones. Amelia stood behind Tony who had an electromagnetic shield and his armor on to protect himself from the force of the power being absorbed by Hulk once he does his snap. Rhea conjured a magical barrier around herself and Thor. All the while, Steve held his shield close with his other arm protecting Valdís. Catalina stood tall, not caring if she got a little hurt since it would have all been worth it once she saw T'Challa.

"Friday, activate Barndoor Protocol." Tony instructed into his suit. His AI instantly locked down the lab with strong steel sealing the entire building.

"Everybody comes home." Bruce carefully slid his hand into the gauntlet, and the moment it was on, the overwhelming amount of energy surging into Hulk was already hurting him. He began to groan and dropped to his knees.

As quickly as he could, he lifted his hand whilst in pain. "I'm okay, I'm okay." Banner assured everyone as he whimpered.

Then, he snapped. The moment he snapped, he passed out on the ground and the gauntlet broke. His entire arm was singed. Everyone rushed over to see if he was still alive. Everyone was relieved when they heard him beginning to pant. "Did it work?" Banner asked.

"We're not sure yet." Amelia answered him.

Before anyone could even check, a sudden explosion erupted throughout the building. The entire building exploded into pieces and was obliterated into nothing. Amelia was caught under boulders and other infrastructure remnants. As fast as she could, she kicked and screamed to free herself from the natural trap of rocks that surrounded her. A few cuts lined her arms and legs, but nothing so bad that she couldn't move. It was simply the initial impact that had her off her game.

Amelia crawled through a tight hole between the rocks and broken cement. She found a clear path to the surface and scrambled out of the remnants of the building. When she reached the top, she spotted a huge ship hovering right outside and Thanos sitting, waiting about a hundred yards away from the destruction he caused. Steve, Tony and Thor all joined her at the top once they all managed to get out from the rubble. "What happened?" Steve asked Amelia.

"Nebula." She instantly growled. It was obvious. The new Nebula was replaced with the 2014 one and the 2014 one transported 2014 Thanos there. Who else could've brought him there? Natasha? No... she was dead.

"What's he been doing?" Tony asked her.

"Absolutely nothing." She answered.

"Where are the stones?" Steve queried.

"Somewhere under all of this." Tony pointed to all of the destruction around them.

"It's a trap." Thor announced.

"Yeah, I don't much care." Tony shrugged.

"Good. Just as long as we're all in agreement." Thor huffed.

"Where's Rhea?" Amelia asked Thor.

He nodded over to the other side of the disaster. Amelia looked over there and saw her. A purple light glowing around her and her hair floating as if gravity was removed around her. She looked furious. She was the only one there other than Nebula that knew that version of Thanos, personally.

Thor lifted his arms and his eyes began to glow blue. The sky turned black and thunder began roaring from it. His hammer and axe flung into his arms on his command and then he was ready. "Let's kill him, properly, this time." Thor growled.

Steve, Tony, Thor and Amelia all walked over to face Thanos in a menacing manner. "You could not live with your own failure. What did that bring you? Back to me. I thought that by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive. But you've shown me, that's impossible. And as long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that will be unable to accept what can be. They will resist." Thanos muttered over to the four who were now standing only a few feet from him, anxious to take him out one last time.

"Yeah, we're all kinds of stubborn." Tony snidely commented.

"I'm thankful. Because now, I know what I must do. I will shred this universe down to its last atom, and then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one. Teeming with life that knows not what is has lost but only what it had been given. A grateful universe." Thanos stood up and readied himself to take on the four threatening figures before him.

"Born out of blood." Steve hissed.

"But they'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them." Thanos spoke in a low, demeaning manner that set Thor off. Thor began shouting and lifted his axe up, creating a surge of lightning power that was charging him up to attack Thanos. Tony flew up in the air and used the height gained to try a punch at Thanos. The punch was useless in theory, but it was a good distraction while Thor charged at Thanos with his hammer and axe. Steve used his shield to fling and jab Thanos with. Thanos fought well as he managed to keep the four powerful heroes from harming him just by using his dual ended sword.

Amelia did what she could by using the tools she was given to fight Thanos, for her mere learned combat skills was practically useless in such a fight. Occasionally, Steve would toss her his shield so that she'd throw it at Thanos, but, it was when Rhea finally joined the fight when Amelia finally felt like she had a purpose. "Use your powers, Amelia. There's so much more to explore." Rhea informed her as she began using her own seemingly telekinetic powers to pin Thanos' arms to his sides without physically touching him.

"Think about his next move." Was all Rhea had to say then Amelia's mind opened up. She could see into the future. It wasn't much, only about thirty seconds ahead, but it was enough to see what her enemy's next move was. She could see Thanos' next swing would land and had enough time to react and use the knowledge against him.

Thanos managed to come out of Rhea's invisible constraint and charged toward Thor with his sword swinging in hand. Thanos managed to grab Thor and launch him away, causing him to brutally land on a pile of rocks at least a dozen feet away. But, Amelia was already a few steps ahead of Thanos now that she was using her time powers a bit more intuitively. She hurried over to where Thor had dropped his Mjölnir and reached for it. She wasn't sure if her plan was going to work, but it had to, since Thor was temporarily down.

Amelia felt the energy radiate from the hammer as she wrapped her skinny fingers around the handle. She took a deep breath and lifted the hammer. She gasped. "I knew it!" Thor shouted, jubilant that Amelia was worthy enough for the hammer. The hammer felt weightless. She gritted her teeth and slowly turned around to see Thanos beginning to choke the life out of Thor. She spun the hammer in her hand a couple of times before launching it with the most force she had in her body at Thanos. The impact only knocked Thanos off his feet momentarily, then Amelia reached her hand in the air to call for the hammer back. The hammer obeyed her command and boomeranged back into her possession. She used the hammer to hit Thanos over and over until she realized that it had much more capabilities than just being a strong physical tool. She pumped the hammer in the air and conjured a surge of lighting. She pointed the hammer at Thanos and the power electrocuted him.

Thanos jumped back up to his feet and Steve took over by throwing his shield and punching him. Thanos used his sword to slice Steve's leg, weakening him. Amelia launched the hammer at him, getting a good knock before the hammer returned to her hand. Thanos went after Steve again and began swinging his sword over and over at Steve. Steve protected himself with his shield, but the shield was slowly deteriorating after every blow. Amelia screamed and charged at Thanos out of the heat of the moment. Thanos took the opportunity, while Amelia was blinded by a moments rage, to grab her and fling her aside once she got near enough.

Thanos stomped over to her to end her while she was down for a moment. He stood over her, in an unbecoming way, and looked down in disgust. "In all my years of conquest... violence, slaughter.. it was never personal. But I'll tell you now, what I'm about to do to your stubborn, annoying little planet.. I'm gonna enjoy it. Very, very much." Thanos spat down at Amelia.

Amelia grunted and tried to get up but Thanos put his foot on her chest, prohibiting her to do so. He lifted his sword and readied himself to jam it down to end her life. But, Rhea came to the rescue, with Thor by her side, charging in on foot and punching Thanos with as much brute force as the gods had given her. As soon as her forceful blow hit Thanos, Thor launched his axe at him, barely missing. But, it was enough distraction to push him off of Amelia and get Amelia up.

Once Amelia could jump back to her feet, a loud hissing sound, almost like the sound of a hot fire, was suddenly sounded out throughout their environment. Hundreds of thousands of Thanos' soldiers were being teleported down to the ground. It looked like they were about to lose. A five versus five hundred thousand was an inevitable loss. But, just when they thought things were getting bad, hundred of yellow circles, much like the ones Strange used to teleport, were appearing around them. And hundreds of thousands of those that had disappeared whilst fighting Thanos were reappearing. They were marching in with a gleam in their eyes as if they were coming for blood.

Thanos' army was enormous and had tons of floating Chitauri beginning to swarm the sky, but, the Avengers looked like they were finally going to win the fight against the purple man. As the army Avengers army either marched or flew in, those that hadn't been dusted watched in awe as they made their re-entry.

All the while, Catalina and Valdís has just managed to make their way out of the destruction of the Avengers compound. And when they saw the dusted coming back, they nearly fainted. The first group of people Catalina spotted was her T'Challa in all his glory. Of course, accompanied by Shuri and Okoye. Without hesitation, Catalina bolted over there and into T'Challa's arms. He squeezed her tightly. She began sobbing uncontrollably. "My love, I thought I lost you forever." She grabbed his face to make sure he was truly real.

T'Challa smiled. "Sorry I took so long. I was shopping. It's only been how long? Five years?" T'Challa mocked their conversation they had before they ever even fought Thanos the first time.

"I would've expected at least some new shoes." Catalina played along, finishing his own quote. She giggled, feeling so grateful to finally have him back.

She turned to greet Shuri and Okoye. "I didn't burn down Wakanda while you were gone, I promise." She embraced both of them, realizing what a relief it was to have them back.

Valdís watched from afar with hopeful eyes to see Peter. But she couldn't find him. She worried he wasn't coming back. She saw Sam, Bucky, Strange... yet Peter was no where to be found. She sighed, depressively, then turned around to face the enemies awaiting on the other side of the battlefield. As soon as she did, she felt a small tap on her shoulder.

She turned around and her eyes locked onto the familiar Spider Man mask. She choked up. "What'd I miss?" Peter's voice sounded out through the mask. He pressed a button so that the mask would come off, and the moment his face was revealed, Valdís engulfed him in a hug so tight, he nearly passed out.

"You have no idea how much I've missed you." Val told him right before kissing him passionately. Peter didn't hesitate to follow through with the kiss, it was a nice surprise and it felt good to be given such attention even though it only felt like he had been gone for not one moment.

The armies on the side of the Avengers lined up with those that hadn't disappeared. Suddenly, Scott decided to supersize and turn into a giant. It was actually a good idea since his strength as a giant would benefit the battle immensely. Especially if there were giant Chitauri coming in to attack.

Amelia turned around with a badass look crossing her face, essentially telling Thanos to go home, they had already won. "Avengers!" Steve shouted as loud as he could so that all those organizing themselves behind him and Amelia could hear.

Steve looked over at Amelia and smiled. Amelia smirked and lifted the hammer she wielded in her hand in the air. "Assemble!" She yelled.
