Shin had been awfully quiet these days, Kana noted, unsure if she enjoyed the lack of voices in her head. She wasn't sure if this was due to something going on with him, or if this was Shin's way of repecting her more.

Ever since learning about the truth about Itachi he had gone silent, leaving Kana to process her thoughts and emotions on her own.

Was she angry? Well, yes and no. Shecould never truly be angry at her Nii-san, but it hurt her to think about all the things he'd hidden from her.

But worst of all, now Kana also lived a double life. By day she was Ame's beloved "Okami-hime," training to become the greatest leader Ame had ever seen, but by night she was "Wolf," a cold hearted killer who did things only when they aligned with her own selfish motives.

She lied to the Akatsuki members on a regular basis, Itachi, Kaneki, Naruto, and Haku remaning as the only people she let her walls down around. Other than that, the only people left in her life that she felt she could trust one hundred percent were her loyal summons Gray and Yuki.

"Kana," Pein said from beside her. "You've slowed down, is something the matter?"

"It's nothing,"Kana replied. "I'm looking forward to training with Naruto and Kaneki later."

"Am I going too fast?" Pein asked. "Is doing paperwork too much?"

"No," Kana smiled. "It's not hard, just a little boring."

"I suppose it is," Pein agreed. "I've also been meaning to ask you, but how was your mission?"

"It was fine," Kana shrugged. "All the captives were rescued, the boss was slain and the illegal drugs and weapons were seized."

"Good job," Pein praised her, giving her head a soft pat. "I figured the Akai Me would be able to handle it."

Kana paused. "Yeah, nothing we couldn't handle."

But no word about Tsunade Senju...

"That reminds me," Pein said. "I have another missions for you."

"If it's a mission for the Akai Me tell Kaneki," Kana huffed. "Not me."

"It's not a mission for the Akai Me," Pein replied. "It's a mission for you as the future leader of Ame."

Kana sat up straight. "What is it?"

~~~~~
"What are you up too Naruto?" Haku asked, watching the boy from the the doorway to his room.
"Oh, hey Haku," Naruto said, looking up from a sheet of paper. "I was just looking over this form that Kana gave me."
"What's it for?" Haku said, shifting his gaze to the paper.
"It's a form for the Chunin Exams," He replied. "Apparently they're being held here in about a month."
"Wow," Haku awed. "Has it really been that long since the last Chunin Exams?"
"I guess so," Naruto shrugged. "Did you get a form too then?"
"No," Haku giggled. "I was actually promoted to Chunin not long after the exams ended."
"What?!" Naruto exclaimed. "I already know that Kana passed, she's been put in charge of organizing and proctoring the exams! So that means I'm still a Genin!"
"I'm sure your skills are Chunin level Naruto," Haku said. "But remember, being a Chunin doesn't only have to do with strength and skill, you need a sharp mind to succeed. Besides, it isn't our fault that you have to retake the Chunin Exams, on your village transfer paperwork your rank was listed as Genin."
Naruto wilted, sumping over in defeat. Haku sighed, knowing how to cheer him up.
"Come on Naruto, why don't we go train?" Haku suggested. "I'm sure Kisame is willing to help you with your swordsmanship."
"Yeah!" Naruto exclaimed, leaping off of his bed.
Haku stepped out of the way, allowing Naruto to run past him. He shook his head, sighing with a smile on his face.
"Ms. Ishiyama," Kaneki said, glancing at the woman standing beside his desk. "Any news on Tsunade Senju?"
"Not much Captain," She sighed. "Konohagakure is still not willing to give us a straight answer, but based on their vauge replies, I believe it is safe to assume that they do not know where she is and haven't known for a long time."
"Anything else to add?" Kaneki asked.
"I'm not sure how much use this will have to you Sir, but there was a witness in a town about a day's travel east of here that said they saw her there," She added. "She fit the description pretty well and was reportedly seen borrowing money. By now though, she has most likely moved to another town, and this source wasn't the most reliable."
"I see," Kaneki hummed, running his thumb along his knuckles. "And what about the wayward Uchiha?"
"Again, Konohagakure didn't give us any more information than what's already availible to us, Sasuke has become a missing-nin, that's all," She said. "In the letter we sent we asked if it was true that Orochimaru had an interest in the boy, and that much was confirmed. ia'm unsure if the Uchiha is actually with Orochimaru, but rumours say that he's recently taken on a student of sorts."
"Thank you, Ume," He said. "But if you have some time, would you mind delivering a message for me?"
"I have plenty of time, Sir," Ume replied, kneeling down. "I'll get this done immediatly."
"Go to Kana, or as you may know her,'Wolf,'" Kaneki began. "Tell her to meet me here in an hour."
"Right away, Captain!" She exclaimed, quickly performing hand signs before vanishing.
Kaneki sighed, leaning back in his chair.
~~~~~

Kana never bothered with knocking, being one of the few people who could enter Kaneki's office without being impaled.

"Any news?" Kana asked, failing to keep the hopefulness out of her voice.

"Nothing useful," Kaneki grumbled. "Konoha isn't exactly willing to share all of their secrets, the only thing we have going with them is the fact that we are allies and trading partners."

"So, nothing on Tsunade and Sasuke?" Kana sighed.

"Not quite nothing," Kaneki grumbled. "Someone claims to have seen Tsunade in a village to the east of here and some rumours going around say that Orochimaru took on a student recently."

"What town is she in?!" Kana exclaimed. "I have to go there now!"

"Calm down, Kana," Kaneki sighed. "She's probably long gone by now, but if you're really that concerned I'll send out a squad tonight and have them check it out."

"But-!"

"But nothing," Kaneki cut in. "You have bigger things to worry about, including the upcoming Chunin Exams. Frankly, I don't know why Pein wants you to handle the whole thing, but he's the boss, so what can I do?"

Kana's shoulders slumped. "Let me know if the squad finds anything."

"I will," Kaneki said. "So quit worrying so much."

Kana smiled weakly.

~~~~~
Her pale knuckles rapped quietly on Hidan's door as she rocked on her heels, waiting for an answer. She gripped the necklace in her hand, smiling at the tall man when he opened the door.
"Hey Squirt," He grinned, shouldering his bloody scythe. "What's up?"
"I was just wondering if you had any bodies I could take," She replied. "I'm pretty hungry."
"Didn't I give you two bodies a week and a half ago?" Hidan asked, scratching his head.
"You did," Kana nodded. "But I'm hungry and my fridge is empty."
Hidan shrugged. "Come on in, I'm almost done sacrificing this heathen, then you can have him, 'kay?"
Kana nodded. "Okay..."
She had noticed she was eating more, but she chose to ignore it, chalking it up to just a 'phase' of sorts. Maybe it was because she was growing? This applied to humans... Or it could be a form of stress eating, which is very common amoung human problems.
Either way, she wasn't exactly happen at the sudden increase in her appetite. It was only a matter of time before it got out of control.
