' Sehun come in' Officer Park closed the file as he looked up at his assistant ' A detective from Busan will be joining us for the investigation of Kim Taehyung's case'

' A detective?' Sehun asked surprised ' But usually it's just us who will be investigating the case right...'

' Apparently he is a close relative of Mr Kim and was close to Kim Taehyung...so he has requested to be a part of the case' Park explained ' It's an unofficial appointment'

' I hope he isn't cocky like the usual detectives...I can't stand them'

' Honestly me too' Officer Park stood up ' Said he only means good help.. let's see'

Sehun sighed shaking his head 'When is he coming?'

' Today... Infact in an hour...We have to go pick him up'

' He should have been here by now' Sehun said looking around ' How are we even going to recognize him? Do we have any picture of him?'

' Nope..Mr Kim refused to give any'

' And why is that?'

' Again am clueless' Officer Park shrugged 'I can't understand why he is so against the idea of showing us a picture..'

'It's good though' Sehun grinned

' Why is that?'

'So that we won't have to meet him...and honestly if you ask me..I hope he just looses his way and don't find us-'

' Damn you hate me already huh'

Both of them jumped at the voice turning around... their eyes wide in shock as they looked at the man in front of him...He was definitely handsome..a bit too handsome if you ask them....and young

' Got a good impression about you though' The man said extending his hand towards Officer Park who was still in shock and embarrassment

Sehun nudged him pulling him out of his haze making him extend his hand...' Are...you-'

' Am detective Jung' The man shook hands ' Jung Hoseok'

'Am Park Seojoon...' He replied ' Investigating officer for this case and this here is my assistant Oh Sehun'

Sehun bowed...as Hoseok smiled slightly at him

' Sorry to disappoint you Sehun shi...but I didn't lose my way' Hoseok shrugged..his face still void of any emotions

' Am sorry about what I said' Sehun bowed again..his cheeks burning

' It's fine' Hoseok patted his back

' Detective Jung' Seojoon began ' You can rest at the quarters today.. I'll bring over the files tomorrow and we can disc-'

' No' Hoseok's voice hardened ' Taehyung's case needs to be solved as soon as possible... Also I won't be staying at the quarters...My friend has arranged his apartment here for me... let's go there and discuss the case'

'But we don't have the files with us' Sehun said

' Am sure Sehun shi that you are capable of bringing it over to the address I sent while me and Officer Park wait for you?'

Sehun felt a shiver down his spine at the authoritative tone of the detective 'Sure Sir'

' Let's get going' Hoseok said leading the way as Seojoon wordlessly followed him out

The ride to Hoseok's apartment was filled with nothing less than awkwardness and silence....

Seojoon totally felt out of place as he sat at the table while Hoseok made some coffee for them.... Also the weight of Sehun's words and the fact that Hoseok actually heard them made his consciousness claw at his mind

' Officer Park.. please feel at home' Hoseok said settling a cup right in front of Seojoon before he himself sat down ' It's a bit dusty but I swear my friend tried his best to clean up here-'

' Detective Jung' Seojoon interrupted ' I am extremely ashamed of what happened before...We shouldn't have bad mouthed you even before getting to know you'

' So you would have bad mouthed me after getting to know me?'

' What? No! No that's not what I meant' Seojoon sat frozen as Hoseok broke into a smile and just then Sehun walked in... staring at them

' Ah Sehun shi you reached?' Hoseok looked at him 'Please lock the door for me and come have the coffee I prepared for you'

' Officer Park..tell me something' Hoseok spoke up when Sehun joined them ' Why do you guys hate me?'

' It's a misunderstanding' Sehun blurted out ' Usually the detectives are cocky and extremely arrogant and egoistic and old and irritating but you are different'

' How so?'

' You are...calm? Smiling? I don't know..you are so good looking and way too young to be a detective no offense though..and you seem friendly'

'Don't let my looks deceive you both' Hoseok leaned forward..the air in the room shifting

' Am again sorry' Sehun apologized

' You both need to chill'

' You don't even talk like a detective' Sehun smacked himself for running his mouth so carelessly again and again ' I didn't mean to say it out loud'

' He is an idiot sometimes' Seojoon finally spoke up 'Ignore him'

Hoseok just smiled ' I got the job as soon as I completed my university..but am good at this... I have solved a lot of cases.. and am much more experienced than you both think'

Seojoon and Sehun just nodded not wanting to spew anymore nonsense

' So...Seojoon shi' Hoseok's tone changed ' Can you explain the case in detail to me'

' So Kim Taehyung as you already know...the youngest child and only son of Kim GongYoo' Seojoon began ' Was found dead in his room three days ago..on Monday by his elder sister Kim Taeri'

' So Taehyung was first seen by his sister after his death?' Hoseok asked leaning back on his chair

' Yes' Seojoon nodded ' As per Kim Taeri...her friend Lee JiEun was also present at their place that night and she confirmed Taehyung's death'

' And what did she say was the reason for his death?' Hoseok inquired

' Drowning'

' Huh?'

'In the bathtub specifically'

' So it was a suicide' Hoseok concluded

' Yes... they even found a letter on his bed' Seojoon said handing over the note

' Mr Kim told that a detective will join us who is a close relative of him and was close with Kim Taehyung' Seojoon explained only for Hosoek to scoff and mutter something under his breath

' I am no relative of them' He denied ' I just know them through someone and have met Taehyung once... that's all'

' Then why did Mr Kim-'

' You should ask him that' Hosoek stood up 'Also it was Taehyung's noona who requested me to come here to Seoul...but she didn't tell me what all this was actually about'

' Oh'

' Anyway... let's call it a day' Hoseok nodded looking at the other two ' We have a lot of work to do tomorrow'

Seojoon sighed... stealing a quick glance at Hoseok who was eyeing the surrounding as they waited in the living room of the mansion for the Kims to come

Seojoon Sehun and Hoseok stood up at the voice of Kim GongYoo who walked in with his daughter Taeri...

' Mr Kim' Seojoon felt bad seeing the man who looked as if he aged ten times just in four days...

' Please sit down' Taeri said... sitting down beside her father...her gaze lingering on Hoseok for a second longer which didn't go unnoticed by Seojoon

' Detective Jung...so greatful of you to come on such a short notice' Taeri spoked up 'It's finally nice to meet you in person'

' Didn't he say that it was Taehyung's noona who approached him?' Sehun whispered to Seojoon who hushed him urging him to just listen

' I have heard a lot about you too Taeri shi' Hoseok gave a tight lipped smile ' I never expected to meet you under such circumstances though'

' Neither did I think that a situation like this would ever come' Taeri whispered..her eyes brimming with tears

' Taeri shi...can you please tell me what happened that night?' Hoseok asked ' Were you home?'

'No.. Taehyungie wanted to tell me about something.. which he claimed was very important... He asked me to be home that day..but I got late because of some personal reasons-'

' Could you please elaboration on that?' Hoseok interrupted causing Seojoon to turn towards him ' It's for the better understanding of the case'

' I had an exhibition that day in Busan....and I couldn't leave until a bit late..So on my way here I called my friend JiEun to pick me up'

' Isn't she the doctor?' Sehun butted in causing Hoseok to glance at him

' Yes... JiEun and I..we planned to hang out that day after my exhibition...So when Taehyungie said he needs to talk to me...we decided to just have a sleep over...' Taeri went on ' So JiEun picked me up...'

' Can you tell us how JiEun's relationship was with Kim Taehyung' Seojoon asked

' Taehyungie...was always a shy kid...he was so easy to talk to...but he never opens up to anyone easily but Ji Eun was an exception' A small smile crept up Taeri's lips ' Taehyungie was JiEun's little baby'

' That night' Hoseok again spoke up ' Can you let us know about the rest of it'

' Ah..yeah' Taeri nodded ' By the time I was home..it was too late... I wasn't sure if Taehyung would be asleep or not so I asked JiEun to keep my bags in my room and wait there while I go check on him.... I knocked... once or twice..but no answer came.... Thinking that he might be asleep I decided to leave but.. that's when I noticed that he room wasn't locked.. which was unusual as Taehyungie loved his privacy and never let anyone in his room that easily....not even me... So I opened the door only to find the room empty... I thought he might be in the washroom..I was about to knock when I saw that the washroom door was infact open... I called him again as I got in only to find him...i-in the tub...

' I was by his side.... trying to pull him out..JiEun came rushing...may be because of my screams...I don't know...even appa also came... he picked him up laying him on the bed...I saw JiEun checking his pulse...then giving him CPR...I saw how her eyes filled with tears as Taehyungie still laid there...he never opened his eyes even once no matter how much I cried... b-begged..'

' We took him to the hospital then' Kim GongYoo said.. hugging his crying daughter ' Even though JiEun told us the truth that our Tae.. really was gone...we had a tiny bit of hope that he will wake up and come running to us...'

' Who found his suicide note?'

' It was me' GongYoo said ' I saw it while JiEun was trying to.. revive him'

' What's this whole thing about Jeon Jungkook...?' Hosoek finally asked 'Who is he?'

' Jeon Jungkook' GongYoo's voice hardened..as if he hated even the sound of that name ' He was an obsessed fucker who stalked my son! He killed him..my Taehyung could never kill himself...he wasn't someone who would give up so easily... he was a sweet soul..my little boy..but this Jeon Jungkook.... Taehyungie was so scared of him...he just wanted to curl up and hide away just at the name of him...My son was scared of an orphan who was abandoned by his parents..such a worthless piece of shit dared kill my son and am still here talking to officers all day'

' If he was so scared then why didn't you do anything?' Something in Hosoek's tone changed ' You are one of the most richest and powerful people in Korea so..'

' Who told you I did nothing!' GongYoo's voice raised 'I did everything I could! I even issued a restriction order but he never cared'

' How did they meet?' Hosoek ignored the angry glare

' They studied together'

' Kim GongYoo claims that Jeon Jungkook did all sorts of illegal stuff..and yet studied in a prestigious university? How? Who funded him?' Seojoon asked

' So Sehun shi' Hoseok called starting the car 'What do you think of all of this?'

' Me?' Sehun blinked looking at Seojoon on the passenger seat

' Yes'

' Something... isn't adding up?'Sehun asked

' Was that a question for me?'Hoseok looked at him through the mirror ' If yes then I wasn't seeking a question from you..and if no..then that's not the answer I was expecting'

' No.. hyung-sir.. sorry I-' Sehun rambled

' Breath' Hoseok chuckled ' You can call me Hobi hyung...if that helps you relax a bit'

' Oh..ok' Sehun sat there awkwardly ' Hyung.. something somewhere isn't adding up..If we consider Mr Kim's statement then we will have to consider Jeon Jungkook as the prime suspect but I noticed something else too..I don't know if it's relevant or not but..'

' It's just us three Sehun...' Hobi said ' It's our shared doubts and observations that will help us solve this so please go on'

' Kim Taeri' Sehun spoke up ' She was close to Taehyung.. more close than his father...yet she didn't mention anything about Jeon... May be she was too shaken up..but still...am not sure...'

' I too noticed that..she was way too silent' Seojoon spoke up ' And why has no one seen this Jungkook?? It's like he is some myth at this point!'

' I think we should interrogate that doctor too' Sehun suggested

' Why?'Hobi asked..

' She seems a bit suspicious...' Sehun shrugged

' How so?'

' Kim Taeri said that Taehyung was close to Doctor JiEun...yet she never attended any of the meeting the Kim family had with us..we barely even saw her at the funeral'

' Reasonable' Hobi nodded ' Seojoon shi'

' Yeah?'

' I need you to get a search warrant' Hobi ordered

' Ok...but..fo-?'

' For searching the Kim Mansion'

' Hoseok shi' Seojoon called..his brows creased together as he glanced at a very tired looking Hoseok as they waited for JiEun to come ' If you are tired then you can go and take some rest... you just arrived yesterday and you look like you haven't slept properly'

' I haven't known what sleep is for a while now' Hobi chuckled cause Seojoon to frown ' Am fine Seojoon shi...thanks for looking out though...And am used to waiting for her like this'

Seojoon and Sehun's eyes widened when they saw a big smile blooming on Hobi's lips at the voice and even before they could understand anything he was hugging someone

' Are you done for the day?' Hobi asked tenderly... pulling back from the day

' Yes' Came the reply

' Seojoon shi.. Sehun ' Hobi turned towards them ' This is my fiance Lee JiEun.. and am involved in this case because of her'

All four of them sat in the hospital cafeteria.... with JiEun buying coffee for all of them

To say Sehun was a baffled would be an understatement .. he just wanted to dig up a hole and bury himself in there... He was spewing nonsense about how suspicious JiEun was to her own fiance?

' Sehun...you really need to chill out' Hobi smiled

' Am sorry for suspecting her hyung..I didn't know you both were...am sorry'

' You are just doing your job....and I appreciate you for being honest' Hobi patted his back and just then JiEun came back with their coffees

' How is it going?' JiEun asked..her voice strained 'Taeri hasn't had an ounce of sleep ever since Tae...and now this note... it's all a mess'

' We are just getting started' Hobi replied ' Seojoon shi here had already recorded everyone's statement... and tha's a great help'

' Office Park' JiEun turned towards Seojoon who has been silent all this while ' Am sorry if involving Hobi in this case is causing you any inconvenience... It's just Taehyungie..we still can't believe he could do anything like that....so we just needed someone.. close.. to be a part of this case... I know it sounds so wrong'

' It's absolutely fine JiEun shi' Seojoon nodded ' I can understand...you can trust me and my team... And having Hobi with us now.. it's of no inconvenience at all.. infact I can already say that he is a very responsible man'

' That sounds great coming from you hyung' Hobi laughed

' You seem to have grown closer in a day' There was an edge to JiEun's tone that caught Sehun off guard while the other two just shrugged

' You still seem to be suspicious of her Sehun' Hobi remarked seeing the way Sehun was eyeing JiEun

' Me?' JiEun blinked ' Why?'

' Where were you on the day of the funeral?' Sehun asked

' I had a surgery'

' And what about the meetings with Officer Park? The whole Kim family was present there'

' I was in Daegu for a conference...I just reached today morning' JiEun explained

' JiEun shi' Seojoon called ' Can you tell us about your relation with Taehyung and how you actually met him'

JiEun looked at Hobi who nodded his head..a soft smile on his lips

' Kim Taeri was my best friend from middle school... She was a very shy..kind girl even though she belonged to such a prestigious family...' JiEun began ' She used to come hang around in my house almost every weekend.. until one day in highschool she invited me to her's for the first time... I was honestly shocked... since I knew how paranoid her dad was after her mother's death and how much he hated strangers in his house...even if they were his kids' friends.. So when asked she told me that Mr Kim was out of town for a week and she and her brother were the only ones at home..As promised I reached Kim Mansion but I was still doubtful about going..so just paced around the huge walls surrounding the mansion when two shoes were thrown out from behind the wall before two hands and a head appeared...and even before I could react a whole boy was standing in front of me.. staring at me.. infact he looked more confused than I was'

" ' Don't tell my noona that am sneaking out or else I'll let appa know that she had a friend over' he had said before picking his shoes up and running up the streets " JiEun laughed 'And that was how I first met our little Taehyungie who was just 15'

Seojoon saw how JiEun's smile widened and voice softened at the mention of Taehyung's name

' Kim Taehyung' JiEun continued ' Was nothing like his sister..he was brave... charming..eccentric and extremely good looking... He never was the one to just abide by the norms of the society..he had a mind of his own which never listened to anyone else'

' What about Jungkook?' Sehun asked ' Mr Kim said that Jungkook was some stalker'

' He...' JiEun frowned ' Jungkook was Taehyungie's ex boyfriend'

' Ex?' Seojoon blinked ' Have you seen him? We can call a sketch artist and put out a look out notice for him-'

' No' JiEun shook her head 'I have never seen him...'

' Do you...know why they broke up?' Seojoon asked almost looking dejected

' Am not sure... Even though Taeri was Taehyung's noona...he was the closest with me...he wanted me to meet Jungkook in person before everyone else... I thought they were very serious about each other...but one sudden morning they broke up...Tae even made Jungkook call me at times before their break u-'

' He used to call you?' Sehun cut in ' We can trace the number?'

' I'll give it to you.. but that number is switched off now' JiEun replied ' I have tried calling him a lot'

' Is there no way for us to know about Jungkook and Taehyung's story?' Seojoon asked ' May be his friends or-'

' There is someone who can help you' JiEun stated 'Taehyung's anchor Min Yoongi'
