Chapter 41.

PAIGE'S POV:

"Can you please tell me where we're going?" I begged as we walked down the sidewalk.

We've been walking around for hours, taking in the beauty this small town had to offer, and there was a lot. It seemed at if we can walk around forever and still not have enough time to discover everything. I loved it here, it was way better appealing than Manhattan.

And now, Zayn has been hurrying me up from looking at some small shops to go to a place he doesn't even want to tell me about. No matter how much I begged, he'll always say the same thing.

"You'll see it once we get there." He smiled looking back at me.

I rolled my eyes, deciding it was best to just go along with him.

Before I knew it, I started to notice Zayn take us into a less active part of town. I became bewildered towards where Zayn was taking me, and why he was so excited about it? In a minute, we were in and out of where it was full of people to where it seemed to be no living soul around. We turned in a curb, eyes instantly focusing on the long wall to my right which seemed to go up in a small hill, connected to the road further down. There wasn't any attention drawn to it, but for some reason, I don't understand why. Soon, I realized where we were.

Colors spread all across the long concrete walls. Beautiful graffiti art of just about everything held me captive by all it had on display. Quotes, landscapes, building, cussing, skulls, even trees shared a space in what soon came to be a giant work of art.

"What is this?" I spoke in both excitement and shock.

Zayn let go of my hand, allowing me to wander down the wall on my own.

"It's art." He smiled looking at nee from behind.

"I can see that." I chuckled, "Why is it here?"

Before he could answer my question, another one came to mind.

"Wait, did you draw this?" I asked turning back around.

Zayn chuckled, nodding his head in disagreement while rubbing the temples if his forehead.

"No." He chuckled. "This is teamwork. Anyone who ever had something to say, or express, they came here and put it on the wall only using art."

I remained my vision out in front of me. Slowly, I began to realize the story behind some of these drawings. I was amazed at how most of them actually ment poetry in some weird and unusual way.

"Do you have anything up here?" I asked crossing my arms below my chest.

"No, not yet." He looked at the wall, "I want to, though."

I smiled, slowly turning my head to look at his concentrated features. "I never knew you could draw?"

Zayn still didn't look back at me, he was still too concentrated on the wall. "It's not something I just put out there. Since when do guys like me draw? It's stupid."

I found his words stupid. He was just being too sensitive about this. Yes, I never knew he could draw, but it's stuff like that which make me crazy for him.

"It's not stupid." I gripped his arm making his head turn to me. "Why don't you draw here?"

He sighed, looking back around before looking at me. "Because I don't think I'll do as great as a job as these people." He admitted, "When I do end up drawing here, I want it to stand out from the rest. Something that will bring people back to look at this and say, Shit, that's amazing."

"Then why don't you?" I asked giving him an interesting look.

He looked down at the ground, sighing once more. "I just haven't found the right inspiration yet."

"And how will you know if you found your inspiration?" I asked walking closer to him.

My hands rose up to cup the back of his neck, chest being pushed together as I forced myself even closer to him. A smile rose upon each of our faces. I started to feel Zayn's chuckle against my front, a feeling that sent chills down my back.

"Don't worry, I'll find it." He smiled, "And when I do, you'll be the first one to know."

He sealed his sentence with a kiss, a kiss that didn't seem to have an end to it. It wasn't until it got really heated that I decided to pull away. Suddenly realizing how stupid I must of sounded.

"I'm hungry."

Zayn looked at me with furrowed eyebrows but found my ways amusing. "What?" He chuckled.

"Do you know a good place to eat?" I asked a bit giddy.

Zayn didn't have to think about this for much. He still remembered everything in Queens. I can tell so by the smirk in face.

"Yeah, I know a place."

"Two chilly hotdogs and one large cup of Pepsi." Zayn told the middle-aged man behind the hotdog cart in the red and white striped outfit.

Immediately, he nodded, getting right to work on our order.

I smiled up at Zayn as he looked at the food with a tantalizing look.

"You're going to love this." He nodded smiling down at me.

The smile I had on my face slowly disappeared as I noticed Zayn's vision dart over my shoulder and start to go blank. Thoughts started to come to the front of mind as I just pictured who could be behind me. I thought about ignoring it but then figured it be best to just turn around and see who exactly is this person that's making Zayn get angry.

Slowly I started to turn my head but was immediately stopped by Zayn's voice.

"Don't look back." He growled, jaw beginning to tense.

"What?" I asked confused.

Before I could turn back, Zayn cupped my cheeks and pulled my lips into his. My hands rose in surrender, gasping inside at his sudden attempt to slide his tongue inside my mouth. He succeeded.

Zayn took over me entirely, leaning me with no control over my body. I felt the space get darker as I rushed to get some oxygen back in my system. There was no point in fighting this, I began to grow weaker.

Then suddenly, a large gasp of air was inhaled as I felt him draw back. He too was fainting for air, but his came out in slower puffs of air unlike mine which came out really fast. He didn't look the same. It was as if his angry side lashed out and controlled over his body. This wasn't Zayn.

"What was that for!" I exclaimed.

He kept is vision on the object behind me. He wasn't making it easy for me to not turn around.

"Zayn!" I called out again waving a hand in front of his face.

Zayn looked back down at me, a sign that the object has left.

"What was all that about?" I asked again giving him a worried look.

This time I did spin my head around, noticing a large group of guys walk away into the streets. The didn't look like good news.

"I couldn't let them see you." Zayn answered making me turn back around to see him.

"Why? Who were they?" I asked.

It wouldn't be much of a surprise if he said those were another pair of his enemies. He has a lot and I can't do anything about it. But why wouldn't Zayn want them to see me but yet kiss me, nearly leaving me without breath, while they were looking right at us I'm sure?

"Some other kids that don't get along with me." He responded.

"Of course." I did some weird thing with my eyes. "Why don't they get along with you?"

Zayn gave me a serious look, not finding my ways funny at all. Yet, I wasn't trying to make it funny.

"Lets just say that when I lived here, they wanted to have a reputation as big as mine. When I left, they got it. So now that I'm back--"

"They want you out." I finished off for him.

His silence was all I needed for an answer. But it still didn't answer why he couldn't let them see me?

"So--"

"I didn't want them to see you or they'll use you as a target to get me out." His face looked away, "You were turning around and I didn't know what else to do."

Now it all makes sense. He was just trying to protect me. Though it was a bit harsh, I'm glad he did.

My hand rose up to touch his smooth cheek and lightly trace my thumb over it. His bright brown eyes shined as he looked up by the rays of sunshine. I was held captive by their beautiful glow, words didn't seem to come out. Then, out of no where, I thought now was a good time to lean in. I did.

Gently, I grabbed his pink, plump lips between mine. I was completely in love with this feeling. The kiss didn't last long, I was planning it to be like that. Leaving him wanting more is something I started to like doing on him.

"Thank you." I smiled.

Zayn chuckled, nodding his head as he grabbed both of my cheeks and started to pull me closer. His lips met mine in a more intense motion. I guess he was catching up on my little game because that's exactly what he did.

"Lets not talk about that, okay?" He stated more than questioned.

I couldn't agree more with his statement.

Zayn turned around just in time to see the man start to put the paper trays with the chilly hotdogs on top of the small stand behind the small stove of the cart.

He started to dig behind his back pocket, pulling out his wallet and some money inside it to hand it to the man. The man also handed us the large drink Zayn ordered. I took the cup and one of the paper trays as I waited for Zayn to place the wallet back in his pocket. He took the other tray and thanked the man before walking away.

I didn't know where we were going now, but I didn't really care. We finished eating the hotdogs a little while ago. It was good. I never thought I'd like a food like that, but I did. So now all we were left doing was just walking around through parts of town. Zayn obviously had a place in mind.

We still had a long time before we have to go to Tess's house again. She asked if we can come home early to help her cook. Of course I said yes. I don't really know how much people she's inviting over but if she needs help cooking, in suspecting its a few couple. Not knowing how Zayn will react to this, I agreed anyways.

"Paige, is everything okay?" Zayn asked.

"Huh?" I asked looking back up at him.

"Are you okay?" He questioned again.

"Yeah? Why wouldn't I be?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"It's just that," He paused, "Your food, you barely even touched it? I thought you were hungry?"

I glanced back at my plate to notice it wasn't even half way done and here I am, staring into space with a full plate in front of me. Zayn was already done with his, this kinda makes me question how long it's just been sitting there.

"Paige?"

I was about to reply but a strange feeling started to be felt going up my throat. Immediately, I cupped my mouth with the free hand I had. The other was soon placed over my rumbling stomach once Zayn took the tray out of my hand. I stared blankly at the ground, afraid to speak before things get ugly.

Zayn's free hand started to rub my back in careless smooth circles. In a matter worth of seconds, I felt the feeling go back down. A long sigh of relief fell from my mouth as I felt it completely gone. Zayn soon stretched out a hand to throw away my paper plate in one of the nearby trashcan. He was quickly back towering over me to grip my arms.

"Paige, are you okay?" He asked again.

I wish I knew, but this wasn't very common on me.

I looked back up at him, lips starting to feel dry, "I don't know?"

Zayn observed me. I was in a state of shock so there really wasn't much I was able to say. Nonetheless, I have no idea what this sudden feeling was. Hopefully it was just nerves.

"Did you wake up feeling like this?" He asked looking into my eyes the way a doctor does when he's checking to see if your pupils are working right.

I nodded my head yes, "A little."

"It's probably just morning sickness, you know, from last night?"

I knew what he ment now, and that was probably it. I'm choosing to go along with that because it seems reasonable and it passed by already.

"Maybe."

"Do you want to go to my Mum's flat? Maybe get some rest?" He asked.

I nodded my head in disagreement. It passed, I'm feeling better now. It was just a quick moment thing, I know because the sane thing happened to me last time we
