Chapter 1.

In just sixteen minutes my overnight shift will be over. I'm tired and exhausted, my body is not used to being up this late working. Since Allison couldn't take her shift tonight, I decided to fill in for her. It was pretty obvious I would say yes since I didn't really have anything to do tonight and I could definitely use the extra money. But on behalf of earning some more money, I'm very tired. I'm not used to staying up this late working.

The restaurant's atmosphere grew busier as the night drew on, numerous amounts of intoxicated bodies stumbling around the area, shouting across the room for some more beer. I'm responsible enough to know I'm not suppose to drink, but most of the teens here, teens I went to school with didn't seem to care much.

I was busy cleaning up after one of the group of guys table. It was way in the back, thankfully far enough to be away from all the commotion for a second. They had a mess alright. Dropping all their silver wear and trash in separate parts of the black tray I held between my hip and forearm, I took out a clean rag and started clearing out the crumbs so the table could be ready for the next costumers.

I haven't looked at the time but I'm sure it's close to midnight. I'll be out any second now and by the looks of it, I'm ready to start wrapping things up. I heard my name being called shortly after. When I turned around, I saw none other than Claire standing behind the bar's countertop, waving her hand at me and singling me to come over. I gave hee a small nod before turning on my heals after leaving the table spotless. It was then I started walking towards the back. I tried my best to scoot over to her between the sea of people around me. It was then I noticed a rather attractive male appear in the entrance of the restaurant. His smile lit up his face, blue eyes sparkling at me. My lips revealed a shy smile as he began to make his way over. But I grew a little disappointed as he stopped instantly, his vision darting to a spot over my shoulder. I spun to discover what he was intently looking at, a tall boy with dark hair angrily pinned him with his harsh gaze. I didn't recognize him but something about him just spelt get away, no wonder my blue-eyes guy immediately backed off. He headed straight to another table of guys without giving me a second look.

I was left speechless, not knowing what just happened. My instincts told me to just ignore it. Maybe they had a bad history, or the scary guy behind me just hates everybody because I'm pretty sure that gaze was also meant for me.

Walking away in fear towards the back of the countertop where I saw Claire preparing three drinks at the same time, I placed the tray besides where she was on the marble countertop.

"Need some help with that?" I asked walking back to her.

Claire looked at me, without stopping, and smiled. "No, that's okay. I just called you to see if you can give these drinks to the guys in table three?"

My eyes shot wide open as I saw the mysterious looking male from behind take a seat next to another guy with curly brown hair in table three.

"Oh no." I mumbled under my breath, a sudden feeling of fear ran down my body.

I guess I wasn't as quiet as I hoped to be because soon enough I saw Claire stop what she was doing to look up at me. "Is there something wrong?" She asked placing a strand of her hair back behind her left ear.

I quickly shook my head. "Oh, no, everything is fine."

"Are you sure? You looked kinda scared for a moment there? I don't mind doing it, you know? " She asked.

My lips revealed a small smile, reassuring her that it was okay as I grabbed the drinks she had just finished and placed them on a flat tray nearby. "I'm sure."

"Okay, well, I'm going to go take these dirty dishes back in the kitchen and start getting our stuff ready so we can leave." Claire smiled as she took the tray I brought from earlier and began to walk away with it.

After a short moment of pondering on what the outcome of going there might be, I finally realized that I had nothing to be afraid of. I'm just overreacting. My feet continued to walk towards the table where three rather attractive looking guys sat. Suddenly, a feeling of rush and courage hit me.

"Okay guys, here you go." I removed the drinks from the tray with one hand and placed them on the wooden surface in front of them. As I continued with my actions, I felt their eyes on me which made me feel uncomfortable once more. There goes my confidence.

"Can I get you guys anything else?" I asked nervously glancing at them one at a time. Though, I tried not to look at the one with the deadly stare.

"No thanks, beautiful." He smirked up at me.

I ignored his gesture and went back to looking at the one sitting next to him with the curly hair and jade colored eyes. "Okay, enjoy your drinks then." I gave him a small smile.

I swiftly turned around and continued to walk back to the bar. My pulse could be heard in my ears, mouth becoming dry. I stood frozen to the spot as the intimidating height of a male shadowed over me. My nervous eyes traveled up the length of his body, my hands clutching the tray a little tighter in my hold. His jeans clung perfectly to his lower half, a white plain tshirt adorning his torso. I was yet to properly meet the dark focus I knew was trained on my face.

"That's it? I compliment you and you just leave?" His voice was deep and mesmerizing. "Seems kinda rude to me, don't you think?"

I didn't have time to respond before he stepped closer, dragging my cautious to its climax. A large palm was placed on my lower back forcing me forward into his body. My hand flew up to his chest to stop myself from pressing into him. His rough actions left me utterly speechless; I've never been treated like this before. I boldly looked up, stunned to see a pair of sparkling eyes peer down at me. They were light brown, bordered by a darker hue around the edge, framed with dark and long lashes. But I soon shook off the intriguing sparks running through my body. My cautiousness heightened as pink, heart shaped lips pulled into a smirk.

"What's your name?"

"P-Paige." I stuttered.

He smiled down at me, his overpowering presence traveling to my ear.

"I'm Zayn." He hotly whispered.

Before he withdrew, the fullness of his lips pressed to the spot just below my ear. My eyes fluttered closed and I gripped the tray tighter. I released a gasp as he forced my hips to his, slowly walking us back to have my back press to the wall nearby. His hands later took the tray away from my grip and placed on the table besides us, giving him more power to get closer to me. A deep chuckle vibrated in his chest, clearly enjoying the reaction he was drawing from me. I had never experienced anything like this before, apparently it was obvious.

"Please.. Get off me." I begged, trying to shove him out but ending up as a fail.

"I like you.." He smirked. "You're so.. innocent."

"How are you so sure about that?" I looked at him, trying to read in his eyes if he was intoxicated or not. Sadly, he was completely sober.

"So now you're teasing me?" His dark gaze fell down to my chest, taking advantage of his height he indulged in the view down my top. My fingers dropped from where I held his nape. The urge to redeem his cheeks with my palm was growing. But I restrained, still fearful of the towering male. My hands rose up to shove him away, but he caught hold of my wrist.

"Now, now." He huskily spoke.

What on Earth was going on? I take an extra night shift to help a friend out and all of a sudden, stuff like running into Zayn happen where evidently seem to only have one thing on his mind.

Hot breath tickled down my neck as he pressed his body back closer into mine. The low moan that erupted from the back of his throat took me by surprise, Zayn finding pleasure in my breast firmly pushed to his muscled torso.

"Stop." I weakly plead. "What do you want?"

I felt his chest vibrate as he chuckled, plump lips smirking down again. His expression went back to normal. I then felt his cold dry hands make contact with the surface of my skin, cupping my cheeks in an instant making me slightly jump. He dipped his head, tilting mine to give him easy access, holding me still as he performed his next move. Soft pink lips met mine in a lingering kiss, sending chills down my spine. I released a gasp as I felt him try to slip his tongue into my mouth. My hands flew to fist the white fabric of his shirt in between my fingers, putting all my effort forward to escape but it www nearly impossible. A deep chuckle vibrated in his chest once more, clearly enjoying the reaction he was drawing from me.

He eventually removes one hand from my cheek and moves it to cup the back of my neck so he could hold me even closer. The urge to redden his cheek was a definite once I fine a way to break free from his hold.

After many attempts of decreasing our distance, I finally managed to escape his lips, even before his tongue ended up in my mouth. I backed away as far away as possible, gasping for air, which I was missing in the minute and a half long kiss. I angrily pinned my eyes on him while my heartbeat was returning to it somewhat-normal beating. Once I regained my strength back, I quickly blended down to grab the tray he set away. My anger rapidly heightened once again as I stood up and realised he was checking me out the entire time. Fear rushed my body as I went back up to him. This time,it was my fear that caused me to lash. In a matter of seconds, my hand was up in the air but he caught hold of my wrist before it made contact with his face.

"I wouldn't if I were you." He smirked.

I gave him a look of disgust as I tried to break free but he had on a pretty tight grip.

"Let go!" I spoke in frustration but he didn't comply.

"I can tell your going to be a challenge.. But it's a challenge I'm willing to take." He concealed his words by pulling me closer until our noses were just inches apart.

"Don't touch me!" I exclaimed in a mandatory way, firmly looking into his eyes. "Let me go!"

All of a sudden, I felt his grip loosen just enough for me to break out of it. I shot him an angry look as I rapidly passed around his towering figure, not bothering to look back when I heard him say, "I'll see you around, beautiful."

I hastily scurried around the kitchen desperate to find Claire. A gasp suddenly fell from my lips once I saw the light shade of red marks Zayn left on my wrist from his tight grip. I tried my best to rub it off with my other hand, praying it was some kind of wine that spilled over my wrist, but it was no use. Just as I began to look up, I bumped into yet again another figure.

"Whoa! You okay there hot stuff?" Claire asked with a small chuckle. If only she knew what I've just been through, she wouldn't be laughing at all.

I only nodded my head and Claire handed me my black leather jacket. The fabric was quickly placed over my shoulders, wanting only to get out of here as fast as possible. I can tell Claire knew something was up because I'm normally not in such a hurry to get out or even reply with something slick with her jokes. But she also knew I wasn't up for talking about it either so she just kept her thoughts to herself, at least for now. My hands quickly grasped Claire's and I continued to tug her behind me as we elbowed our way through the crowd of people.

My feet curiously stopped at the sight of Zayn reuniting with his friends. He said what seemed to be 'Goodbye' to them before making his way towards the exit. Thank God employees have the privilege to leave from the back door, I have no idea what I would've done if I had to stumble into him again. And this time in front of my friend.

"Paige? Why did we stop?" Claire asked.

I suddenly snapped back into reality, "Oh, sorry."

"That's alright. Let's just get out of here." She smiled.
