Chapter 7: History

Heya!!

It's been a while. Now, you might be wondering, why the book only has 7 chapters instead of the supposed 12.

Well, it's because I edited the book. I have compiled at least two chapters into one since I used to write short chapters, and at times it just works better if they are in one single chapter.

Now, this chapter has some elements that you have already read, but I added new details and changed a few things.

Amber Sin

Such a fitting name for a place filled with crime and sin.

The place isn't easy to find. The address is only spread by word of mouth. If you're lucky, you can stumble upon the establishment.

Since the 1930's the place has been a notorious hotspot for crime activities. The police department struggled to find the place, and they succeeded. With the conviction of capturing the criminals, the police department issued and planned a raid of the establishment.

Monday morning of the year 1947. Numerous murdered and mutilated bodies of police officers, FBI agents, and SWAT teams were found at the ocean shore of Hargeon Harbor.

This has been a dark time for the police department. Even if they know the exact location of the place. They can't do anything. That display alone sent shivers down everyone's spine.

Because of that, everything that involves Amber Sin needs to be done with absolute caution or not be done at all.

Amber Sin ruled as the number one spot for criminal activities until it was rumored to have closed. This has been a huge relief for the police department. With the place closed, criminal activities are scattered across everyone, but they are easier to find and infiltrate.

Unfortunately, years later. Amber Sin has resurfaced. Amber Sin is back.

The biggest problem that the police department has ever faced is back.

------

In the criminal industry. Amber Sin is a sacred place.

There are three simple rules regarding Amber Sin.

Rule #1: Deals and exchanges of goods are allowed. There are no limitations as long as the owner is informed.

Rule #2: Fights can't be avoided. You can kill each other if you want, as long as you don't harm the other customers. It's totally fine.

Rule #3: Cops, Agents, and Reporters won't get out of Amber Sin alive.

Lucy's Pov

I was sitting at my table, eating my lunch. The food that Ms. Alina cooks for us is really good, but every once in a while I like to go and eat outside.

I'm minding my own business until.

"I swear I see you everywhere!" I heard him chuckle.

I looked up and there he was. Natsu Dragneel.

It's true, just like he said, we see each other everywhere. Of course, we share side glances whenever we see each other at Amber Sin but that is to be expected because he's a regular and I work there, but the other times are just pure coincidences at first, but now it's getting rather ridiculous. First, the grocery store, then the cinema, the hospital, the bookstore, even the fucking gasoline station. The city is so goddamn huge, why in the world do we keep on bumping into each other.

"I think, you might be stalking me." Lucy joked.

"Why would I be stalking you for." Natsu playfully raised a brow and walked towards the blonde and took a seat across from where she sat. "I haven't been seeing you at the bar lately, did anything happened?" He asked.

"My schedule changed and I have things to do." Lucy briefly replied.

"My my Lu, I never knew you do side hustles like that." Natsu perked up, wiggling his eyebrows playfully.

"Shut up!! You know I don't do stuff like that!!" Lucy retorted.

"And that's the curious thing, why? For someone who works at a place like that, why is that your limit?" Natsu asked, pure curiosity beaming out of him.

"I don't disclose personal information," Lucy smirked and Natsu huffed at this.

"Why are you so curious anyways?" Lucy raised a brow.

"Because you're interesting." Natsu leaned in and smiled. "Very interesting."

"If this is your way of getting into my pants, it's not working," Lucy said, her voice etched with sass.

"I'm not trying to." Natsu shrugged. "I'm just curious, a woman prancing around a nightclub with almost little clothing isn't open to sexual intercourse, you don't see those every day."

"It's the only thing I have left." Lucy lowered her head, what she said is true, but it isn't the only reason why she refuses to do such deeds.

"I see." Natsu nodded.

Juvia's Pov

My relationship with the boss is strictly professional.

"Aahhh~ Gray please more~"

Alright, was strictly professional.

I swear this man. This man would be the death of me.

I don't mix love and business.

I stand by that statement. I'd avoided the concept of love at work for years until Gray Fullbuster came in.

It started with a simple request. Then I joined his mafia crew, and now, well...

"You like that?" He smirked as he pounded his length mercilessly in and out of me.

"Yes~ Please, I want more~"

Yeah, that...

The sex is great. I'll give him credit for that, the best one I've ever experienced in my life. Ever.

It's just sex. God, I hope it's only just sex. But no it isn't. It isn't. It's so obvious it's more than that. But, he's just so goddamn weird about it.

He'll say things that contradict his actions. He gets worried over the most ridiculous things. I can handle myself just fine. Like that one time when I got attacked at the bar. Gray didn't give me any assignments for the entire week, even though I told him I'm fine working.

His hands trembled as he caressed the scar on my belly.

Well, except for that one time. Maybe that's what started it.

My work is filled with death and violence. They'll use anything you hold dear against you. Kidnap them. Torture them. Just to get the reaction they want out of you.

The risks and dangers are always present. Some of my friends have already accepted it and took the risk and danger and went on their combined paths, vowing to one another. Till death do us part.

I have my issues and baggage with it. He has his own. That's one of the main reasons I felt comfortable working for him in the first place, because in the back of my head I know this isn't going in that direction.

Oh Boy. I'm so wrong on that one.

I could've left him, and yet I didn't. I can't. I can't leave him.

I can't leave him because I love him.

"Juvia," Gray called.

"What is it?" Juvia hummed, combing her disheveled hair in front of the mirror.

"Are you really willing to risk it?" I asked.

Juvia paused for a bit before answering. "Weirdly enough. I do. I don't know why though."

"I see."

"What brought this up?" Juvia raised a brow, and she went back to combing her hair.

"I had a talk with Ultear about it," Gray responded.

"What are you gonna do about it then?"

Gray sighed and lowered his head.

Juvia placed the brush down and walked toward him.

"There's no rush. Juvia isn't expecting anything." Juvia gently rubbed his back and gave him a side hug, comforting him. "Juvia's already so happy with what we have."

Juvia saw a small smile appear on his face as he grabbed her hand tightly.

"Thank you."
