Chapter Three - New girl and awkward situations
"I love you sis, but staring at your new school isn't gonna make me drive you home. " the annoying voice of my brother snapped me out of my thoughts on planning how to escape this hellhole.
I sighed and let go of the the tip of my ponytail that I was twirling. Guess there goes my plan.
I slowly reached my hand out and opened the door. Getting outside of the car, I flattened my skirt along with my maroon knitted sweater. "Bye gu-" I turned around and was offended to see that our sliver innova wasn't behind me anymore.
I so feel the love.
I turned towards my new school and sighed. My hand was clamping the strap of my backpack. I breathed in and out to remove some of my nervousness.
You can do this. Just get your schedule then go to class. Easy. Right?
After five minutes of rambling inside my head I finally had the guts to overcome my fear.
The fear of going to a new school.
Alone.
Without my friends.
Sam and the Twins had a complication in the enrollment era due to their names not being registered in the schools system so they will be attending school tomorrow, if not then maybe in a few days.
But honestly, I think there was no complication. It was just the twins messing around again.
Those two lazy monkeys just don't wanna study yet and apparently, they dragged poor Sam just to annoy her.
They must've considered the fact that my mom would flip if that thing happened to me and left me in peace.
Starting on my awful journey alone, I walked through the school's parking lot and into the door. You can do this, you are a strong, brave, independ-. Oh śhit.
I opened the glass door and was suddenly greeted with the screaming, giggling and chatting of the students. I tightened my hold on my backpack as I swerved through the crowded hallways.
I looked around the hallway and observed that the lockers were quite big here. The hallway was filled with yellow lockers on each of the sides.
One locker towers a little lower than me and I was like, 5'6 ft. Yeah, I know tall. Blame my father and his freakishly tall height. In my old school, a single locker barely passes my knees. Yep, that's how small they are.
Moving on, I kept on walking trying to find the main office while glancing around me from time to time. I pulled out my phone and checked the time and saw that I still have thirty minutes before my first class starts. Whatever class that is.
At least I still have half an hour more. I took a left at a corner and was amazed when I saw that the color and the scenery of the hallway completely changed.
The once yellow lockers were now colored orange with different drawings like musical notes and dancers painted on it. And all I can think of was. Wow. Even the students here wore different attires.
On the other hallway, the students were mostly dressed in baggy jeans and hoodies or a flowy skirt and a regular shirt. But in this hallway, most students were wearing leggings and fitted long sleeves and some were even carrying instruments like ukuleles, guitars and trumpets. Guess this was the musicians hallway.
I quickly maneuvered through the crowd and hoped that I can find the office so that I can finally go to class.
After ten minutes of walking down the hallways, I finally decided to have the courage and ask someone about it. You can do this. I'm sure there are many nice people here. I then decided to ask a girl not to far away from me.
She has short curly black hair and tanned skin. She was talking to a black haired boy and seemed to be telling him something since she was swaying her hands in the air as if demonstrating something.
I slowly walked up to her clutching my phone by my side. I tapped her shoulder gently and was surprised when she turned around quickly and glared at me with her black eyes.
I slowly retracted my hand and awkwardly waved at her.
"Ummm, Hello. Good morning, I'm Nevaeh and I'm new here. Can you perhaps show me the way to the main office?" I asked her while fiddling my shaky fingers with my skirt due to my nervousness.
As soon as I mentioned about me being new here, her cold glaring eyes suddenly turned warm and welcoming. She immediately pulled me in a tight hug which by the way squeezed the life out of me.
Baffled by the sudden action I patted her back awkwardly and stared at the black haired guy silently asking him for help because God knows how strong this girl's grip is. But he just stared at us leaning a shoulder at the cold metal locker, a smile crept up his face as he rolled his eyes.
After ten seconds of torture she finally let me go and started squealing which resulted in me placing both hands in my ears.
"Oh my God, Oh my God, OMG!!!!" She started clapping then turned and pointed her finger at the black haired boy beside her.
"Ha! In your face you dumbass. Team dancers, One. Team crazy, muscled and athletic assholes, Zero." She then performed a happy dance shaking her butt in front of the boy.
And I just stood there awkwardly.
She looked like Jolibee shaking her ass and twerking. Literally.
"Um, What do you mean dancers one?" I asked them and was thankful seeing that their attention was now on me.
"Oh you see, Our school is divided into five categories. Each category has its each hallway. For example The hallway with the yellow lockers, aka. The nerd hallway. This is the hallway where everybody's a genius. They're either super intelligent or freaky hackers. Trust me, you wouldn't want to mess with them specially the hacker ones. They can destroy you with their crazy hacky minds. The one's that messed with them either transferred schools or migrated to another country." She shuddered.
"They're that bad?" I asked her with widened eyes.
She nodded frantically and whispered
"They're worse."She stared at me and I was getting really creeped out.
"Moving on! Next there's the Grey hallway. Aka. The Jocks or as I like to call them the Crazy, Muscled and athletic assholes hallway. They're basically the boxers, runners, soccer players, basketball players Etc. Like this big dumbass over here." She finished her sentence while pointing her thumb at the black haired boy behind her.
"Then the Arts hallway which is colored green. Not the ugly green but sort of light-ish green. That hallway is the most amazing hallway you'll ever see. Trust me. Then there's the singers and actors hallway. The Pastel blue colored hallways and lastly, the hallway which you are standing in right now. The orange hallway aka. The Dancers and the musicians hallway." She finished her rambling and I was surprised to see her breathing normally.
Because what she said was a lot. Like a lot lot.
Who knew a tiny girl like her can speak that much. She's shorter than me. Maybe at 5'2 inches?.
I don't know. All I know is that I'm gonna be late if I don't hurry up. But before that, I need to ask her something.
"Why-" I was caught off when she began to ramble. Again. "I know why not just pair the singers and the people who play the instruments Then the dancers and actors. To answer your question, Our new principal Mrs. Davis has two nieces here which are apparently a Dancer and a musician. So that's your answer." She shrugged the idea off, a knowing smile settled in her face. I immediately closed my mouth and slowly nodded, digesting the new information.
Let's just pretend I understood what she said and pray.
"Wait, but why did you say dancers one and jocks zero?" I asked her as I furrowed my eyebrows.
She rolled her eyes and said "Well duh, your a new student. And your a dancer which is why your in this hallway." she stated as she raised her arms and spun in the middle of the hallway.
Maybe she noticed my silence because she quickly stopped and looked at me her smile faltering a bit. "Wait. You are a dancer aren't you?"
I smiled sheepishly and slowly shook my head. "Sorry, but I'm not a dancer."As soon as those words left my mouth her once full blown smile immediately turned into a not so nice frown.
The I heard a boyish laugh beside me and that's when I realized the unnamed black haired was laughing at the also unnamed curly haired girl.
"Whoops. It looks like both of us are back to zero then. " He smirked at her glaring face then proceeded to dance the jollibee dance the girl did a few minutes ago. He began shaking and twerking which surprised me because both of them seemed to not care about the other people in the hallway.
It's like they're just by themselves. I for one wish that I have their self confidence. Sure I have confidence but not like them. Starting at a young age, I was taught how to behave and act like a proper lady. From the how to sit properly to the holding your pinky up when drinking.
But who cares, I only do them when I'm with mom.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt something buzz in my skirt. I pulled out my phone and read a text from my mom.
'Are you in class now? What are your classes? Did something happen?'
I read the text and mentally cursed myself when I saw that I only had seven minutes left before class started. I quickly texted my mom saying everything was fine then slid my phone back into my pocket.
I looked up and saw that the boy and girl were now fighting. Seeing as they are pointing at each other.
"Uu-Uh- Uhhhh Guys?" I stuttered and squeaked out.
How pathetic.
The curly haired girl turned to me and instantly smiled. "Sorry for assuming that you were a dancer. I just got excited. And when I get excited I ramble things. My mom once told me that-" she was caught off when the black haired boy shot her a knowing look.
She smiled sheepishly at me and muttered sorry.
I simply shook my head in amusement . "Not to be rude or anything but can you please tell me where the main office is?" I asked her with a polite tone because God knows what her reactions gonna be.
"Oh right! Well, the office is located near the crazy, muscled, athletic assholes hallway so you just have to turn two rights and one left then you will see a glass door and tada! You have the office." She told me while pointing the directions.
I nodded my head in acknowledgement and gratefully smiled to her.
"Thank you and as much as I would like to talk to you guys, I better get going. Bye!" I waved goodbye to them and hurriedly walked towards the main office.
Huh. That wasn't so bad as I thought it would be.
After two rights and one left later I arrived at the main office where a scary clown, I mean where a woman- I assumed was the secretary- sat. Hey! Don't get mad at me, it's not my fault nobody taught her how to use make up properly.
You were supposed to put only little amount of foundation whereas the lady here, placed the whole bottle of it. I mean really? Her whole face looked like unicorn poop. Her lipsticks super red her supposedly called cat eye became a fricking dragon with-
"Ehem." The lady in front of me cleared her throat which resulted in me blushing from embarrassment.
I just literally judged her and called her a fricking scary clown. Wait, she looks more like a killer clown now that I think of it. Hmmmm......
Moving on!
"Um, Hi I'm Nevaeh Wilson and I'm here to get my schedule."
She raised her eyebrow at me and told me to wait here. I mentally shuddered. I can tell that me and the secretary are going to get along really well. Note the sarcasm.
I glanced around the office hoping to pass some time. The walls were colored white while the floor has a marble design on it. Most of the furniture were either colored black or white. Typical.
I kept glancing until my eyes landed on a particular object. It was a painting.
A girl sat on the middle with different flowers and vines growing on her. Her golden brown hair was tied up in a bun as she sat cross legged. She wasn't glaring or emotionless like I predicted her to be. Instead she was smiling. Her beautiful pearly teeth was showing along with her cute dimples. Her mesmerizing blue eyes were staring back at me with amusement.
I can only describe it in one word. Magnificent. This is the first time I actually used this word.
Mainly because it reminds me of Malificent. The evil witch or fairy or queen. I don't know. Considering of how many movies and stories I have read and watched.
Moving on....
I took hold of my camera which was hanging on my neck and snapped a picture of it. Multiple times.
Then I proceeded to put my camera on my bag. Because I don't want it being confiscated by one of my teachers.
The same killer clo- I mean the secretary then came back and handed me my schedule which I gladly took.
"Your locker will be located next week for some unknown reason." She spoke in a bored tone while picking her nails.
Wow......that was.....a reasonable reason.
I dashed through the hallway thanking God for I will not be spending another second with the same kille- I mean secretary.
Anyways........
I placed my bag on my hand and looked at my schedule while speed walking down the hallway.
Bad idea.
"Watch out!" I looked up just in time that my face connected with a hard chest.
Now, you might think that this is the part where the boy catches the girl then they stare into each others eyes and fall in love. Like the love at first sight thing.
But sorry, Like I told you, this isn't fricking cliché. Well, at least not all of it.
As soon as my face connected with a hard chest, I immediately loss my balance and fell backwards. I fell on the floor with a hard body on top of me. The impact was so fast that my whole body hurts, luckily a hand was behind my head protecting it from the impact. I groaned and suddenly felt the weight on top of me decrease. I looked up and came face to face with jade green eyes. Not the forest green that I love.
I shut my eyes and opened them again hoping to clear my vision.
I squinted my eyes and muttered "Fudge you."
The boy in front of me was clearly staring at me with shock, amusement and a little bit of........... sadness?
What the heck man. I don't even know you.
His mesmerizing green eyes stared intently at me making me feel a little weird.
Then he lifted his finger and pointed to his nose. I gave him a confused look wondering why was he pointing to his nose.
And that ladies and gentlemen was when I noticed a red stain on the chest area of his orange shirt despite my hazy state.
I touched my nose and looked at my finger. and sure enough, it was bleeding.
I turned to the green eyed boy and smiled lazily.
Then everything went black.
