Chapter Eight - Motorcycle boy

We were all silent throughout the whole ride. Apparently the police brought a big car, which I was thankful for because I wouldn't want to be squished with people covered in eggs, milk and whatnot.

We were currently seated at the back of the car with the two police officers at the front. The inside of the car was colored grey with slightly worn out horizontal leather seats that were placed on either side of the car. There were two windows, each on opposite side and at the middle end was a grey door, matching the design of the interior.

Sam, Xavier, Aiden and Violet were sitting together in the seat opposite of us while I'm with Ashton, Lavender.

Ashton and Aiden were the ones sitting closest to the door. The others where sitting in the middle while they left me and Sam farthest from it. Those little-

We've only been sitting here less than two minutes. Which is not long.

Xavier was staring at the floor with a bored expression, Lavender is sitting and picking the mess sticking on all of her clothes, eyeing them with disgust.

Ashton was picking at his shoes, which is extremely weird. But he's Ashton, he's like that. Aiden's banging his earphone on the window trying to get it to play music because it was soaked with milk. I mean we all do that don't we?

Violet's sitting cross-legged and glaring at my phone who she was holding and Sam was a nervous wreck. She has been squirming and looking frantically while muttering something along the lines of 'Mom's gonna kill me' for the past minute.

I actually feel a bit pity for her. I mean, she is my bestfriend.

"Pstt." I looked at Ashton who was trying to gather the attention of everybody.

"Psst." I quirked an eyebrow at him but he still didn't stop.

"Psttttttt. " I furrowed my eyebrows. What the heck man? What do you- oh

I followed his line of vision and saw that he was trying to get the attention of Xavier who was squinting his eyes at the car floor. Ohhhhhhhh

I nudged his leg making him look at me expectantly. I jutted my head at Aston's direction.

Xavier looked at Ashton and Ashton nodded as if signalling something. Oh no. What are they up to? We're already in a huge trouble which will cause a whole month without dessert. And I need dessert thank you very much.

Xavier stood up and leaned his head towards the glass window that was separating us from the police officers.

He opened it and with no warning screamed.

"Squirrel!!!!!" He screamed at the top of his lungs. The car suddenly jerked to a stop. Making all of us lean forward because of the sudden force.

I looked straight ahead and saw Ashton picked the lock of the door open. When a 'tick' sound was finally heard both of the twins burst the door open and ran.

"Run!" Xavier shouted as Lavender and Violet got out. Then Xavier ran and pushed passed us. Rude much bro?.

"Hey!" I heard a male voice which made me remember we were in a police car.

I grabbed Sam's hand and pushed her forward.

"Run!" She just stood frozen which made grab her shoulders.

"For God's sake Sam. Run!" I pushed her roughly which I think brought her back to her senses because in no time she was running.

I was the last one in the car so I ran as fast as I can. Please don't die. Please don't die.
I chanted in my head as I continued running not caring where I go.

We were in another part of town. Less cars drove here which is the only explanation why a car hadn't crashed us when we stopped.

I ran into an alleyway when I heard the officers shouting.

I stopped and placed my hands on my knees. "This-is-why-I hate-fricking-running." I panted as I tried to catch my breath.

"You are the most unfit person I have ever met in my life." I whipped my head towards the familiar voice and saw a guy in a motorcycle wearing a helmet. I guessed it was a boy because of the persons attire. He wore a grey shirt with a leather jacket ontop of it and paired it with denim black jeans.

I pointed a finger in he's direction. "Wait- let-me-just-Okay I'm fine." I stood up and wiped the sweat in my forehead using the sleeve of my hoodie. Oh yeah. Why am I even wearing a hoodie?

"Where did she go?" A loud voice echoed through the alleyway followed by a couple of footsteps. Holy fudgecakes.

The revving of an engine made me focus back on the person riding a motorcyle.

"Come on. Unless you wanna go to jail?" The person said while cocking his head to the side.

I narrowed my eyes at the helmet. "First tell me who you are."

I heard the person sigh and mutter "Still stubborn I see. Am I that easy to forget?" before he took of the helmet revealing the annoying green eyes I was familiar with.

"River?" I asked him wide eyed. I know a bad boy usually has a motorcycle but, what the hell we are only tenth graders. Well, I am but I don't know about him.

"Yes It's me. Now get your stubborn little butt in the motorcycle so that we can both go and continue on with our sex free lives."
I ignored the last statement and raised my eyebrows.

"What do I get?" He simply rolled his eyes .

"Your prince charming will save you from the two evil dragons."

"How do I know I'm not going to get kidnapped?" I challenged him.

He gave me a deadpan look. "You're not my type."

Wow way to be blunt.

"Hello?" A voice echoed throughout the alleyway which is way to loud for my liking signalling the officers were near me. Very very near me.

Seeing the hopelessness of my situation, I climbed on the motorcycle and held on the handles in the back of the seat. Which the girls in cliche books always forget.

River placed the helmet in my head and smirked. "Hold on,"

And with that he sped up and drove out of the alleyway startling the officers in the process. They didn't recognize me because of the helmet. So I think that's a good sign.

I wonder where the others could be. Maybe they're already home getting lectured by mom-. Oh no.

Mom. The three letter word which means barney turning into a man eating dragon.

Nonononono. I didn't even do anything. This is so not fair.

After ten minutes of torture, River finally had a brain and slowed down and parked at....

Mcdonalds?

Oh no wait.....

Mcdanas?

Really?

"Where are we?" I said as I took off the helmet and held my stomach. I'm suddenly not feeling good.

Oh, did I mention I easily become sick when I ride something fast or if I ever travel to a far place with a car? Oh yeah, and it usually ends up with me puking.

Yeahhhhhhhhh..............

I placed my hand on River's shoulder making him look at me.

I made puking actions with my hands hoping he gets it.

He was confused for a couple of moments but then sudden realization takes in his face as his mouth made an 'o' shape.

"Oh hell no. You are not puking on me right now." He climbs down the motorcycle and takes my hands in his.

"Okay, okay. Follow after me. Breath in."
He looked at me with those dazzling blue eyes of his as if he actually cared for me.
He inhaled slowly and I found myself copying his actions.

"Good good. Now breath out." He breathed out slowly which I immediately copied. We did that for a couple of minutes and I found my sudden urge to puke gone.

"You all good?" He bent down and looked at me in the eye.

I smiled and nodded. "Thanks. I really needed that"

He smirked. "Now let's go eat". He started walking towards the door of the diner.

"Food?" I asked him grinning like an idiot.

He chuckled and ruffled my head. "Yes. Food."

I swatted his hands away following him inside in the process.

He held the door for me and me being me, didn't thank him and went directly to find a table. Ha! I don't need to boost that big ego of his.

I walked towards a table at the far end of the diner just beside a big glass window. It had a great view of trees and a garden so why not?

I sat down and grabbed a tissue that was placed in a tissue stand at the middle of the table, wiping away the stain that the tomato caused. Fudging tomato ruining my hoodie.

I heard footsteps so I peaked from under my lashes and saw River sit on the seat accross the table.

I tossed the tissue on the table and placed my chin on my hand, leaning on it for support.

"So how did you know how to stop a fifteen year old girl from puking?" I cocked my head to the side raising my eyebrows at him in question.

He crossed his arms and leaned on the table. He chuckled. "I didn't. I just knew I had to do something so I did what knew."
I then noticed that his eyes were a shade or two darker than Blake making them look more intimidating and adds an effect like 'I'm cool and bad news' vibe.

"And what exactly did you knew?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows.

He gave me a deadpan look. "I basically told you to breath. "

I blushed and looked away from embarrassment. "I knew that."

He chuckled. I felt like he was going to say something else but was interrupted by a female voice.

"Hello sir, ma'am. Can I get your order?" I looked up and saw a kind looking girl smiling at us. She had black rimmed glasses covering her blue-grey eyes and had her red hair tied in a bun.

River smiled and ordered. "I would like to have your four cheese burger meal and a strawberry smoothie."

She wrote down the notes and smiled at River, turning to me in the process.

"And you ma'am?" She asked me.

Wait.

I don't know anything about this diner.

"Oh! Sorry. This is my first time here. Where can I see your menu?" I asked, smiling sheepishly at the waitress.

I rock.

"Oh! In that case. Welcome to Mcdanas. A diner with the most awesome name in history. It is said to be rumoured that the manager of this diner had a fling with a manager of mcd's and hence the name. I'll be right back." She went away leaving me processing the new found information.

"That's just, wow." I whispered.

The red haired waitress came back a few moments later holding what I assume was a menu.

"Here." She handed it to me. I looked at it and decided to order.

"I'll have two large fries. A sundae, large. Three Veggie burgers and an ice tea please." I smiled politely at the girl who was looking at me in shock.

Hey. Not my fault I'm hungry. Plus, I may not have my wallet but I always tuck a hundred dollars at the back of my phone just in case things like this happen.

"Is that all?" She asked us both .We nodded and she walked away, probably going to the kitchen.

Suddenly, the song 'Kiss and Make up' By Dua Lipa and Blackpink blasted through the speakers of the diner.

I smiled and hummed along to the lyrics. Occasionally tapping my foot and silently rocking my body. Because, admit it we all do that when an amazing song starts.

I grabbed my camera and captured the scenery before me, still silently dancing in my seat.

Beautiful flowers were scattered throughout the garden, making them really appealing to the eye. The trees were standing in all of their glory. I even saw a bird nest in one of the branches.

"Awwwwe," I silently cooed at the little birds.

I decided to record it. I recorded the garden capturing its alluring beauty in my camera.

Suddenly, I heard chuckling beside me. I looked at my side and saw River looking at me in amusement. I pointed my camera in his direction.

"June twenty seven, I was kidnapped by a green eyed monster named River who took me in a universe where mcdonalds is in the opposite gender." I pointed at his face whilst listing up my leg sitting cross-legged.

He rolled his eyes with a small smile playing on his lips."Excuse me. I am not a monster. I'm the prince charming. And even if I was the monster, I'll probably be the most handsome monster to ever exist in time." He did an imaginary hairflip making me laugh.

"More like an ugly one." I muttered under my breath.

"What was that?" River narrowed his eyes at me and leaned closer.

"Ummmm.......Oh look! Food?" I saw the waitress holding two trays filled with food approaching us.

River's gazed didn't budge for a few seconds more but decided to drop the matter when our food arrived.

I focused my camera on the red haired waitress who was smiling at us.

"Here's your order. Just tell us when you're done." She set the tray full of food on the table and smiled at us, leaving me and River to eat.

I smiled at the sight of food and started digging in, setting my camera down for the meantime blocking the rest of the world along with my worries.

I first grabbed the burger and started eating it completely forgetting my camera placed at the table.

I ripped open the ketchup and started squirting some of it into a tissue. I don't like eating my fries with ketchup all over it. I prefer this way instead.

"So is it true?" River's voice suddenly asked making me look up at him.

"Wapd tu?" I asked him with a mouth full of fries and ketchup.

He made a disgusted face in which I replied with an eyeroll.

"Didn't your mother ever teach you to not speak with your mouth full?" He asked me whilst sipping on his smoothie.

I held a finger up signalling for him to wait and swallowed all the contents in my mouth.

"Oh she taught me, but she's not here isn't she?" I quirked an eyebrow at him and sipped on my smoothie.

He only smiled and shook his head.

I grabbed another burger and started eating it. But this time taking a small bite.

"So what's true?" I asked him while taking in the diner we are currently in. There are only about twenty people here with us so it's not quite noisy or compacted.

"That little miss Nevaeh Wilson dethroned the almighty Lila." He made air quotes on the word Lila and rolled his eyes. Woah, we do that way to often.

"Puh-lease, I didn't dethrone her. I just simply became her sub at the show. It's just one act anyway, nobody will remember me." I gave him an incredulous look and shook my head. Why is it a big deal anyways? I just replaced her at one act because Marianne begged me too.

Acting isn't my forte anyway. Having high grades or Artistry is, but not Acting.

"Oh but you did,"

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"No I didn't."

At this point I didn't even realized that I was down to one fry and one burger left, along with my drink.

"Yes you did."

I opened my mouth to respond but closed it when a hand appeared right in front of my face shaped like a puppet.

"Yes you did. Now shut up." He spoke as if he held the final decision.

"But-" I was cut off when he closed his hand making the puppet shape act like he closed his mouth.

"Hey-" I tried to talk.

"Chitchat." He opened and closed the puppets mouth.

"Chi-" I tried talking again but it was no avail.

"Chitchat." He cut me again and smiled.

I was getting angry and frustrated.

"Don-"

"Chitchat." He smirked at me and his eyes were twinkling with mischief and amusement.

"Wh-"

"Chitchat." At this point, I was a second away from exploding. River however, was displaying a grin from ear to ear. Clearly enjoying torturing me.

I didn't speak. Only glaring at him as of daring him to utter another single word.

"ChiiiiiiiiitChaaaaaaaaat." He emphasized the words and waved his hand infront of my face. Smirking at how angry I was.

Then I exploded.

I swatted his hands in front of my face and leaned over to him. "Okay listen up dude, First, We are not in middleschool so don't use kungfu panda references on me. Second, No I did not dethroned your so called queen. And third, You are paying mister." I reached my hand out and poked his chest still glaring at him.

He smirked at me and crossed his arms.

"Awwwwww, is sweetcheeks angry?" He teased me jutting his bottom lip out, mocking me.

I only glared at him and and sat back in my chair deciding that it's best if I don't entertain him anymore. Even though I know that I entertained him a few seconds ago.

I crossed my arms over my chest and and looked around the diner, seeing that there's nothing else to do.

I stopped when I saw a few people in different tables looking at us.

I shranked a little in my seat and ate my fries distracting myself from their gazes.

Why me? Why do things like this always happen to me? Oh right, because your crazy. Please look away. Please look away.

After a few minutes, I finally finished my fries. My eyes skimmed over the table and landed on my camera.

I reached for it and saw that it recorded the whole thing. I was going to take pictures of the diner when it suddenly died.

I groaned and placed my camera on my neck.

"What?" River asked and for once, he looked genuinely concerned. Woah, the bad boy has a heart.

I looked up at him and was about to answer when something caught my eye. A few tables away from us, sat four boys and a girl. They were all wearing matching red jersey jackets with a bear logo imprinted on their sleeves making it clear that they aren't from our town.

Those weren't what made me look at them though. It was the fact that they were staring our table. More precise, me.

My eyes widened slightly and I looked at River. "River who are they staring at?" I whispered at him slightly freaked out. I don't like attention. Specially when a whole table was staring at me.

He took a bite out of his burger. "Who?" He furrowed his eyebrows at me.

"Them." I whispered and slightly nodded my head towards the group. I picked up a plastic spoon and took my slightly melted sundae, scooping it and putting it in my mouth.

Stress eating.

With his eyebrows furrowed he turned around.

After a few moments, he turned back around to face me.

"You."

"What? Why me? Why would people be staring at me?" I asked him slightly panicking.

The side of his mouth quirked a little. "Maybe because you just ate three burgers, two fries and is currently downing a sundae."

I glared at him. So what if I ate that much. A girl's gotta eat when she's gotta eat ya know.

"That or one of them are planning to ask you out." He spoke as if it wasn't a big deal.

I stared at him wide eyed. Baffled by the sudden idea. "What the hell. Nononono. I do not like that idea. Why would they even ask me out. I'm a crazy teen." It's not that I don't like them. Sure they're relatively attractive. It's just that nobody has ever asked me out yet and I do not want to have a boyfriend yet. I am happy being a single human being............Okay, I still have a crush on Blake.

River chuckled. "Sweetcheeks you have got to get it through your head that you're sixteen and your not exactly an ugly duckling. Teenage boys like girls like you. Especially with those blue eyes of yours. So brace yourself."

I looked at him and already felt my cheeks heating up because of embarrassment and because of the fact that he basically implied that I'm pretty.

"Let's get out of here. It's getting late." I told him as I noticed the sky was getting darker.

I finished my sundae and smoothie and dusted my hoodie and skirt.

"You're paying." I pointed a finger in his direction.

"What? No I'm not. I just saved you. So you're paying me." I pointed a finger at my direction.

"Umm... No I'm not."

"Yes you are."

"No."

"Yes."

"I said no. You're the one who drove us both here so you are paying." I glared at him and crossed my arms over my chest.

"And I said Yes."

"But-" I tried to reason.

"Too late. Waiter!" He called over someone over to us. The same red haired girl hurriedly went over to our table and handed us a receipt.

"That would be Thirty seven dollars and ninety cents." She told us while smiling.

I looked at River expecting him to pay bit found him raising an eyebrow at me.

I sighed. R.I.P my money.

I reached towards the pocket of my skirt trying to find my phone whilst still shooting daggers at River.

I couldn't find my phone so I tried my other pocket. But after a few moments, I couldn't find it. I searched all of my pockets expecting my phone to magically appear in either one of them. Then, I remembered I gave it to Violet when we where in th police car.

I looked at River with slightly wide eyes. "I don't have my phone."

"So?" He asked me while quirking an eyebrow.

"My money is on my phone."

He suddenly frowned.

So that means I don't have to pay. One point for me.

I smiled at him. "Looks like you're paying."

"No I'm not." His mouth lifted upwards making me frown.

"What do you mean?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"You see, A little birdie left his wallet at home. And all his money is on that particular wallet." He smiled sheepishly at me.

"What?" I stared at him in shock.

A throat being cleared made it clear that the waitress was still with us.

I smiled at her. "Can we perhaps do anything else? Or can we please go home first then we can get some money and -"

"Oh it's okay. I am honestly in need of help"
She smiled at us.

I sighed in relief knowing that we aren't going to the police station again. Two trips in one day isn't good you know.

"It's okay, You can take her. I'll just wait here so that I can take her home." River leaned back with his hands crossed behind his head.

"Oh no you don't." I dragged him with all my strength and followed the red haired girl who was pointing in a particular direction in the diner.

R.I.P. Me

Phew! This chapter was long. It has 4000 plus words. So hope your happy. (lol I came back here and now that's not even close to my definition oflong *wiggles eyebrows suggestively*)

What do you think Nevaeh and River will be doing?

Read more to find out.

The cringe is real.
