Shuichis pov

I sat in the park hugging my knees. I was so lonely and I couldn't go home yet or daddy will beat me up. I felt like crying. Everything is just so unfair!

"hey are you ok?" I looked up to see a kid with green hair looking at me worriedly.

"I'm ok. I just feel a little lonely" I said wiping my tears away.

"oh well if that's all it is then I can help you out" he held his hand out "come on let's go on an adventure!"

I nodded and took his hand. He dragged me out to the forest. It was really far away from home and I was feeling a little scared but I didn't say anything since I was scared of losing a potential friend.

I stayed quiet throughout most of the adventure but eventually I let out a scared whimper. He turned to me with a smile.

"don't worry I'll protect you" he took my hand with a smile. His hand felt warm and safe.

"thank you" I muttered.

He took me a little father and crouched down, pulling me down with him. He put a finger to his lips and pointed to the deer that was feeding on a patch of grass.

My eyes lit up. It's so pretty! We watched it for a little longer before it galloped off.

"that was amazing" I gasped.

"see! You always see cool things on an adventure" he said grinning.

He took me back to the park where his grandmother was calling him.

"oh I better get going but we can meet up here again sometime" he said turning to leave "I'm rantaro by the way"

"ok rantaro let's meet again sometime!" I yelled as he ran off.

I guess I made a new friend.
