Chapter 8
(Anti's POV)
'Anti, Dark, if ya'll want food before Mel and the others show up you need to come and get it now,' Jean's voice rang through our minds. I turn to a slightly weary Dark as a wide smirk grew on my lips. He may be dominant but that never meant he had more stamina than me.
"Hey babe, Imma go grab some food," I toss over my shoulder as I throw on a quick pair of baggy shorts and one of his T-shirts. I'm always stealing his clothes though I doubt he minds since he normally throws mine into unreachable areas.
"I'll catch up with you in a few..." He replies sounding a bit drained, though I know he's slowly regaining his strength. Chuckling, I make my way out of our room and down the hallway towards the kitchen. Jean's cooking was always top of the line and knowing she had made homemade pizzas caused my stomach to grumble. Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice the girl down the hallway that was yelling at me. I strolled a bit more as she kept waving at me before I caught what she was saying. I froze to my spot as I realize she thought I was Sean. Shite...
"Jack! Wait up!" I had no clue what to do. I can't just teleport away, then she'll know something's up, but I also couldn't let her see me up close. When you take a good look, it's pretty easy to spot numerous differences between me and Jack. What is she even doing here? I thought she was in the game room!
"Hey Jack, weren't you just with everyone else? How'd ya get here?" Fuck, how am I supposed to answer that? Sure, she's never been here before and the place is huge, but it's not like there are twenty different ways to get to one place. They would have crossed paths at some point. And even if I came up with something to say, our voices were different!
"Hello? Anyone in there? I asked you a question?" She sounded sarcastic and annoyed, but I could feel concern radiating off of her. Someone come help me, please!
"Heh, yeah, sorry. I'm just kinda out of it right now, sorry," I cringed at my own words. I'd tried to make myself sound like Sean, but I did a terrible job. I haven't needed to look or sound like him for a while, so my impersonation was just horrific. I couldn't even change how I looked if I wanted to 'cause she's already seen me.
"Are you okay? You were just hanging out with everyone else, and you looked like you were having a great time." she took another step forward, and reached out to touch me. I moved away, and she gave me a confused look. "Jack–"
"Look," I said cutting her off. "I'm just really tired, and I'm gonna go rest okay?" I knew I sounded bitter and rude, nothing like Sean but I had to push her off my case before I get caught.
"Oh, alright.." She just stood there as I walked down the rest of the hall, then turned the corner. I walked a few more paces down the next hall, then immediately teleported to the game room. I couldn't let Sean go to dinner with everyone else, or Jean's friend would know something was up. I vanished then reappeared in front of the guys, who all gave me very confused and worried looks. I decided to speak up before any of them could.
"Sean, you're not allowed to go to dinner with everyone else." My counterpart looked at me as if I'd lost my mind.
"Why not?" he questioned, clearly annoyed that I was standing in front of the television, blocking everyone's view.
"Because I just ran into your new friend in the hall, so I had to pretend to be you, and I told her you weren't feeling well and that you were going to bed. So if you're at dinner, she's gonna see you, and see that something's wrong!" I watched as Mark turned to look at where I'm assuming the girl was sitting before.
"When the fuck did Mel even leave?" He sounded worried, and if I was in his position I probably would be too.
"Anti, where is she? I'm going to go find her before she runs into anyone else," Ryan said, standing up.
"She was in a hallway near all of our rooms," I said, anxious that she may have seen someone else already. Ryan nodded, then hurried out of the room to hopefully find Mel before anything something terribly wrong.
"Uhm... guys? We might already have an issue..." Felix spoke up timidly.
"What do you mean??" My voice went a pitch higher as the anxiousness grew intensely. This seriously can NOT get any worse right?!
"Mad was with Jean in the kitchen when Cry came back here. Which means he'll be heading back this way shortly and Cry went after Mel so..." Oh, frook me...
"Fuck!" Mark bolts from the room after Cry in an attempt to stop the situation before it turned into more of a mess, only to return shortly realizing he had no idea which direction either of them went in.
"Anyone wanna take bets she's already met Mad?" Felix attempts to joke, earning a punch in the arm from Sean. This is not the time to be joking, shite is about to get real if we don't get our shite together.
"Glad you did it instead of me," I comment and he nods knowing I would've left a larger mark than he will. I sigh, putting my face in my hands. What if I just ruined everything? "I'm going back to my room," I said rather tiredly. Before anyone could ask why or protest, I teleported back to my shared room and collapsed into the bed, face down.
"What the hell happened here?" A familiar deep voice questioned. At least he was up and moving but NOT going towards the kitchen.
"I fucked up," I responded. I hadn't bothered rolling over, so my voice had been muffled by the crumpled up blanket that was strewn across our bed.
"What do you mean, love?" He asks as he takes a seat next to me, gently rubbing circles on my back to help calm my nerves. To be honest, it was really welcoming to feel. I turned my head to the side so that Dark would be able to understand me better.
"I ran inta Jean's friend in the hallway...." I whispered as I shoved my head deeper into the bed. Before I could react, I was flipped onto my back and pinned to the bed. Dark hovered over me with a smile.
"It's okay, though I feel like I should have warned you about Mel more so than my own brother. I love you but you pulled a real Wilford, babe."
"Yeah no shite," I said, smiling back up at him weakly. "But now Cry is trying to find her, and Mad is out in the hallway, and everything could quite possibly go terribly wrong."
"It was bound to happen and we all know it. Just so happens it came sooner than we thought," he says in an attempt to reassure me.
"We all just met the girl, what if she's scared out of her mind? What if she doesn't like us?" I bury my face into my hand as I think of everything that could go wrong.
"Shh... It's okay, Anti," he kisses the top of my head and continues to rub my back. "I have a good feeling about her. Besides," he lifts my chin up so I am looking him in the eyes. "I feel that you two will get along well." He smiles sweetly at me which only causes me to smile back.
"I hope so." He pulls me into his chest and kisses my forehead. He whispers comforting words into my ears as he rubs my back in a soothing manner. My eyes begin to shut as his deep voice lulls me to sleep. "Thank you~"
(Mel's POV)
This house is very quiet for being filled with boisterous YouTubers. All I could hear as I walked through the halls was my own thoughts, my footsteps, and the distant yells of the guys, though it seems to have quieted down. The house, as I discovered, was even bigger than it initially looked from the outside. It seemed as though it could hold twice as many people as it did. There were scuff marks littered across the floor as if there were people running through the halls frequently. Something tells me this place is usually busier and livelier than it currently is...
As I walked, I looked around, taking in the interior design of the halls. It was rather simple, but it was also very nice to look at. There was nothing jumping out at you, nor was it so bright that it hurt your eyes, but it also wasn't too sparse to seem boring. Whoever did this clearly put a lot of thought into it.
I also happened to be lost. This place seemed as though it was based off a labyrinth, at least to me. I wasn't about to start yelling for help though, because that would be embarrassing. So I just kept walking. I was gonna ask Jack how to get back to the game room before, but something was clearly bothering him, so I let him go. I wonder what was wrong...
As I was pondering over what made Jack act so strangely, I heard footsteps walking down the hall behind me. I turned around to look at them. He looked like Cry, but something seemed...off. I got a strange feeling that I shouldn't be here, or talk to Cry, for some reason or another. I shook my head, confused as to why I was so unsettled. It was just Cry!
"Cry?" I hadn't meant to say anything, at least not until he had gotten closer, but I guess there was nothing I can do about it now. He didn't seem to hear me for some odd reason, I called out to him again before he finally snapped to attention. He stopped a bit of way down the hall, though he was in a bit of a shadow.
"Oh, uh hey Mel!" He called out friendly though something was off. What happened to the shy guy I had just met a few hours ago? I took a few steps towards him, but I stopped when I heard another voice call out for me.
"Mel? Where are you?" Wait, that didn't make sense. That other voice sounded exactly like Cry, but he was right in front of me. I heard the person closest to me whisper something that sounded like multiple curses, which only made me even more confused.
"Cry?" I called out, making my voice loud enough for the person on the other hallway to hear. Just as Cry started to appear behind me, I noticed the one in front of me took off down the way he just came from. "Hey! Wait!" I turned around and watched as the one behind me approached. This one was clearly him. He had his classic white mask, and there was just this aura of positive energy that seemed to roll off him. "Cry, who was that other person?"
"Whatcha talking 'bout, Mel? I didn't see anyone else.." He gave me a slight smile though it seemed like he was hiding something from me. "Why don't we go back to the game room? Everyone has been looking for you." I watch him carefully, but I decide against confronting the topic any further. I was a guest here after all, and I didn't want to be rude.
"Alright, let's go." I'm just gonna have to ask someone else later. If only I had known just how much I didn't know here. My life was about to change from normal-ish to really crazy and I wouldn't want it any other way.
