Chapter 4
(Jean's POV)
"She out cold?" Ryan asked next to me while I glanced back to double check. I made note how oddly cute it was seeing a hyper Sean leaning on the window, a pouty Dark and a sleeping Mel on the other window.
"She's out. Damien make sure she can't hear us, please?" I ask as I turn back around only to readjust myself so I could lean against the dashboard and see everyone. Probably not the safest if we crash but let's be honest, that won't be what kills me.
"Already ahead of ya, Princess," He responded though he knows I hate being called a princess. I mean really, I am far off from being a Disney princess. He only does it to piss me off when especially since I've been gone. Does he really think I didn't receive all of his notes, letter, messages, and voicemails? I don't even think my own parents were like this when I was younger. I roll my eyes as he works a bit longer announcing he's done shortly after.
"You probably shouldn't be sitting like that, lo---Jean," A mixture of voices came from Ryan as he drove. I knew that was coming but it was this or risk Damien being an arse.
"I'll be okay. You focus on driving alright?" He gave a short nod though I had a feeling he wanted to say more. Then again, we did NOT need a crash happening with Mel in the vehicle. She was the only one that would be at risk of dying out of us five. "Okay, so what the hell happened?" I asked turning my attention to Dark just as I noticed Sean stiffen before relax and showing more of an Anti than our Jackaboy.
"Yes, because I would looooveee to know myself, Dark..." Anti nearly growled to his mate as I attempted to hid my smile. I swear these two act like they wanted and could kill each other though... I knew better than that. They like a rough love style, no shame there.
"Alright, alright," Dark huffed out as he slightly adjusted himself before explaining what had happened during the panel. "I honestly couldn't get him to calm down. He almost ran off the damn stage after her," he threw his thumb over towards my sleeping friend. For a split second, Anti seemed to lose control as Sean returned with a worried stricken face.
"M-mark w-was going after Jean's f-friend.....?" He asked so brokenly. I honestly didn't know if I should giggle or cry. Dark growled at Sean's return, only wanting some time with his mate and not his counterpart's other half. That feeling was way too real for me right now but... I glanced at Ryan, that won't happen anytime soon...
"Oh yeah. Of course, it was Mark," sarcasm dripped from every word he said before he turned nasty. "No, you idiotic boy! Wilford was trying to! I thought I made that clear." He huffed out and looked as if he wanted to break someone's neck. I swear he needs to get laid more often so he's not such a b*tch.
"O-oh... Okay... Sorry..." Sean apologized before slipping out and allowing Anti back in. Poor guy can be way too naive for his own good sometimes.
"I frookin' swear, he pisses me off sometimes yer know?!" He snarled out before having an arm wrapped around him and pulling him closer to them. Damien gave him a light peck along his neck as an attempt to calm his temper before Anti could become destructive. "Oh come on now.... Dark! Why are yer d-doing... that... Mmm..." Finally Anti gave in while I rapidly spun around to give them a bit of privacy. I do NOT need to see any of that action EVER again! Once was bad enough but hopefully, this will calm both of their arses down.
"No fucking in my car you two!" Ryan hollered at them from the driver's side. "Especially not while Mel is back there." There was a grumble or two before nothing was heard from the backseat. He sighed before asking if they had just teleported home.
"Yup but that's fine by me. I don't need them being active when Mel wakes up," I tell him with a deep sigh. "I just hope she stays asleep until we get there." I sigh as numerous events played in my head of what would happen if she only knew everything...
"Hey," a familiar loving voice drew me out of my thoughts and back to the current time. "Do not worry, my sweet girl." He cooed at me with a soft smile on his lips. I glance at him through the corner of my eyes and notice that his mask is off so I could see his ever glowing crimson red eyes. The scar across at the corner of his right eye and down to his lip was visible this way. He rarely let anyone see this part of him. He was never comfortable with it being out for everyone to see. It suits him in my opinion, it was a reminder of how far he has come.
"You know it's hard for me not too..." I blush at how close and nearly alone we were. It felt good yet also saddening to be this close to him after everything we've been through.
"It's been too long since we have been like this huh?" He asked through my clouded mine. My cheeks redden even more since I had forgotten he could hear my thoughts pretty well still.
"You could say that again... I just hope this doesn't end like it did last time...." I trail off as previous events sore behind my sky blue eyes. I try to hide my facial expression with my slightly long raven hair.
"Hey," Mad took my hand while keeping one hand on the steering wheel and his eyes on the road. "It'll be alright. He's not there anymore. We made sure neither of them stayed after that night."
"R-really...?" He nodded with a small smile on his lips which only caused his scar to stretch but in a pleasant way. I glance away from his stunning blood eyes, he always knew how to make me blush. I swear half the time he did on purpose, even when I was annoyed. I cover my face, praying my blush would fade before we arrived at the house. "Has anything happened since I left?"
"Besides Dark and I being worried over you, not really," he states causally. That was the main difference between those two. Damien would be overbearing at times when I was gone no matter how short or long of a time. Micheal knew I would always come back, he knew I would call if I needed help.
Time passed to the sound of the music I had turned on a bit after Micheal and I stopped talking. I never liked silence, it only caused deep and dark thinking for me honestly. I would hear him hum from time to time sometimes even with me.
"Well, we're here," He finally broke the silence with a small smile as he does a quick glance at me before pulling into the long rocky driveway. Even though I lived here, the view still always got me. It was always so stunning to come home to this scenery. A large forest surrounded us while our large home was in the center of the clearing. Keep in mind, this house had to be large enough for ten people plus guests and trust me if we didn't have a proper gaming room and kitchen this place would not be able to hold all of us. A bird flew across the sky as we finally came up to the house and parked.
"I guess it's time for you to go..." I sigh as sorrow incased my heart. I don't know why but this always happened when he had to go. I mean, it was almost unbearable at times, especially when I was in a... "mood" I guess you could call it.
"For now, yes but..." Mad turned to me after turning off the car and unbuckling his seatbelt, he lifted my hand to his lips and kissed it lightly. A new onslaught of blush coated my cheeks as I hid my eyes yet again. "I will come to see you later. When you are not busy having fun with your friend." He smiles sweetly at me before leaning back and allowing Ryan back in control.
"Hey Ry," I smile meekly at him with a small wave. He smiled back widely at me before replacing his mask back on his face.
"'Sup, Jean? Why ya blushin'?" He asked right away. He always did this when Micheal leaves and he returns. He knows what happened but he just wanted me to say it out loud. Great, now I have 'I Won't Say I'm In Love' stuck in my head.
"Oh, no reason!" I widen my smile trying to get him to believe but I should've known better since all I got in return was an "Mhm..." I sighed and leaned my head against the dashboard. "Don't say it..." I warned him.
"Why don't you just talk to him? Tell him that you l---" I quickly cut him off with a single eye stare. I was not in the mood for another lecture on this topic.
"Not. Another. Word." I state clearly as my eye color bounces from its original color and current. I calm myself before turning back to him and weakly asking, "Please?" He nodded at me understandingly.
"I get it. But just know everything will be okay, alright? They aren't here anymore. He isn't here anymore so it's okay for you to let your guard down. Mad really does want you to be happy and smile like you use to, ya know that right?" I nod back at him as I hear a groan from the backseat. "Looks like our new friend is finally waking up." At that moment we heard a small crash from inside the house. "Well, this is going to be fun..."
