Chapter 3

(Mel's POV)

The panel was incredible! The whole time I was laughing, smiling, and just enjoying myself in general. It should have left me with a smile on my face for the rest of the day, but I was stuck wondering what had happened to Mark, and why he didn't join in the panel. He had just run off, almost as if he was in pain. It felt as if there was something missing without him there. After the guys had said their goodbyes to the crowd, Jack had run off stage before anyone had started leaving. It gave me the impression that something was seriously wrong.

I heard shuffling and excited talking (though it was more like screaming) behind me. I turned around and watched as everyone began filing out of their rows, chatting with their friends either about what happened in the panel or about what they were going to do next. I stood up as well and turned to Jean. She was still sitting her sapphires focused on the empty stage ahead of us.

"Hey Jean, what do you think happened with Mark?" I asked her as I nudge her gently. She seemed to break from whatever was twirling through her mind. She had a tendance to be like this from what she's told me but it's different seeing it happen.

"I can take a few guesses..." She mumbles under her breath. "I mean, it was probably his blood sugar levels. You know how Mark can be about that." She gives me a nervous chuckle before smiling at me. It felt like something was off with how she responded but I'll just brush it off for now.

"Yeah, alright. I just hope he's okay now, I really wanna meet him." I say looking back at the stage. "And everyone else of course." When I turn back around I see that the stage area was almost completely empty. "We should probably get going." My raven-haired friend stood up in impossible speed and turned to me.

"No, wait!" Jean grabbed my arm pulling me to a stop before I could exit the row. "Do you trust me, Mel?" Her eyes were full of so many emotions, an endless storm of hues and thoughts.

"Of course I do! You've given me no reason as to why I shouldn't," I glanced at her, confused as to why she would ask that.

"Okay... Now... Uhm..." She looks around nervously as if she is waiting for something really bad to happen. She takes a step back from me before screaming out into the empty room. "G-guys... Come on out!" I look at Jean then around the room, even more, confused now, as I had no idea who she could possibly be talking to. By chance, or just simply being focused on my confusing friend, I hadn't seen a little green head pop out from behind the stage's curtain before hearing a loud Irish accent yell.

"WE'RE ALL CLEAR GUYS!" I nearly got whiplash from how quickly I had spun back around to looks at the stage. I watched as the rest of the guys hesitantly walked out from backstage. I was in awe that all of my favorite people were standing right in front of me. Jack seemed to be ready to start jumping off walls, while Bob and Wade stood calmly next to each other. Felix, after spinning around as if looking for something, ran off stage then came back, dragging Cry on stage as well. The masked man looked uncomfortable and was sort of hiding himself behind his taller boyfriend. And Mark, well, he was standing off to the side, away from everyone else, acting as if he didn't know why he was here or what he was supposed to be doing. I looked between them and Jean a few times, trying very hard to remain calm and not be that over the top fangirl.

"Did... did you set this up?" I was directing the question at Jean, but staring at the YouTubers on the stage. I cannot believe is actually happening to me! I swear this better not be a blasted book I'm in!

"Hehe well yeah! I mean, I know how much the guys mean to you. I thought it would only be fair and cool if you got to meet them too," she smiles a bit shyly at this as her blue eyes flash between myself, the ground, and one of the guys before returning back to me.

"I can't believe this," I say, trying to contain myself since my excitement is making me feel like I have more energy than Jack. "Jean, you're amazing!" I was tempted to run up and hug her, but I can only tolerate so many hugs, and I wanted to save it for all the guys. I turned to them and smiled. I still can't believe I'm actually gonna get to talk to all of them.

"HI!" Jack exclaims as he hops off the stage and jogs to right in front of us. He quickly turns to Jean, giving her a quick hug and squeeze, before turning to me. "'M Séan but just call me Jack for that's what everyone calls me. What's yer name by the way?" I laugh at Jack's enthusiasm, cause seriously, how does someone have that much energy after doing a panel?

"I know who you are Jack, I've watched your videos for years! And my name's Melanie. It's nice to meet you in person!" I genuinely feel like I'm about to explode. I'm talking to one of my idols, one of the people who could always make me smile no matter how upset I was. It was such an amazing moment, one that a lot of people wouldn't be able to have.

"It's nice ta meet ya too! Now, I have a question for ya..." Jack leans in a bit with a corky little smile and asks me, "Can I give ya a hug? Yer just so adorable!" His voice boomed across the room at the end of his sentence almost making me want to cover my ears. I laugh anyway and smile before nodding rapidly.

"Sure! Hugs are cool," I walk up to the green-headed Irishman and give him a quick hug. He was about seven inches taller than me, which once again made me feel insecure about how short I was, but I ignored it. Jack smiles at me before frowning and turning to the others.

"Well come on down, yer idiots!" He hollers to the guys who are still on the stage. "It's rude to just stand there and not greet a new friend!" Why do I feel like I can hear someone saying 'He's to damn hyper I swear'? Probably from all the AntiSepticEye videos I've been watching.

"He's right you know?" Bob made his way to the stage stairs as Wade just hopped off the stage's edge. Shortly, the pair were followed by Felix and Cry with a very much lagging Mark making his way to the rest of us. At this point, I wasn't sure whether to approach Mark or just let him be. Mark is an unusually kind-hearted person, so I figured he must have a reason for staying behind everyone else and not saying hi. I decided to just leave him alone since I didn't want to bother him.

"Hi everyone," I wasn't sure what else to say as the six guys formed a very sloppy semicircle in front of Jean and me. I was almost bouncing from how much excitement filled my body, this was just too good. Nothing could make this day better!

"It's nice to see everyone again," Jean chuckles next to me. Almost in a couple form, the guys came up to me and greeted us both. Wait, the fuck does she mean by that?!

"Well hello, there pretty ladies," Wade attempted a smug smirk which caused us to giggle. Bob stood next to him shaking his head before lightly bopping Wade on the head.

"Don't scare them with your tactics now, Wade." Bob turned to us and held out a hand, not knowing if either of us were comfortable hugging him. "Glad to see you again, Jean." I shook Bob's hand and waved at the others while I heard Jean mutter something like 'same' to be honest I wasn't paying attention. I wasn't very good at talking to people, and since I was still in shock that this was happening, I couldn't really do much else. Playfully, Felix somewhat bumps Wade aside as Bob steps out of the way of his attack and calmly strolls off to the side.

"Hello vackra," Felix greeted us as he somewhat pulls along a hiding Cry. "It's wonderful to finally meet you, Mel."

"It's great to meet you too!" I smile at Cry, who's standing timidly behind Felix, shoving his hands in his hoodie's pockets. "Hi Cry," I waved at him shyly. Two shy people greeting each other, how well do you think that would go? Any better than this? Probably not.

"'Sup?" He nods to me before faintly glancing at Jean and turning back to me. I stand there quietly for a bit before shaking my head and giving a nervous laugh.

"I've always wanted to meet you guys, and now that I have I don't know what to do," I say nervously. I glance at my friend in hopes she would catch on how gobsmacked I was, thankfully she did.

"Well," Jean pipes up. "The panels today are over right?" The guys nod or give out answers of agreement. "Why don't we go back to the house? Play some video games and I can jump start on food. My treat for being away for so long," she smiles widely.

"Food!" Jack screams as the other chuckle and agree with Jean. She turns to me with a questioning smile.

"Whatcha say, Mel? Dinner at my place tonight?" She gave me an innocent smile though something wasn't adding up. I was about to accept the offer, when it clicked in my brain, almost making me freak out.

"Hold up. Do you live with them?! And what do you mean your treat for being gone so long?! Where have you been??" I ask Jean in astonishment. She blinks as if she forgot something and was trying to remember before smiling at me widely.

"Oops! I guess you were going to find either way," she rubs at the back of her neck sheepishly. "Yeah, they kind of live with me actually. It's a bit of a story on how it all happened to be frank with ya. Hehe~" Jean somewhat shied away from me though she also seemed like she was trying to hide something more. "I've also been traveling for the past year give or take a month. I actually just came home for this event." That means all the images she sent me were actually places she's been to?! Man, I should've looked her up on LookBook sooner.

"Don't worry, Mel..." Mark spoke up for the first time during all of this. His voice a bit deeper and raspier than normal. I wonder if he's sick, that might actually explain his actions lately and what happened during the panel. He attempted to give me a charming smile but it came out a bit weakly as if he's not used to just naturally smiling. "Jean and the rest of us can explain the whole tale later on. It's quite the story honestly but for now, we may want to head out before the streets are crowded and fans have a better shot at finding us."

"He's actually right," Wade says before stretching a bit. "If we don't hurry, people will figure out we never left or where our cars are parked and I honestly just want to go home peacefully please." The group of YouTubers chuckles before all agreeing seems like that's what would normally happen.

"I'll drive," Cry piped in. "My jeep holds up to five people so... I'm taking Jean and Mel." He grins wickedly as the others make a noise of complainant but none of them really attempt to challenge him on it.

"I'll go with!" Jack screamed out in excitement while waving his hand from side to side like an overly joyed puppy. He's so adorable! Must protect adorable puppy!

"Felix, you're riding with Bob and Wade," Mark commented. He had his hands in his black jacket pockets as he glances at Felix. He kind of reminded me of one of Thomas Sanders personalities.

"But Ryan's my boyfriend!" He whined back at Mark causing him to turn to Felix fully. I had an odd feeling this wasn't a friendly challenge now.

"Yes, but Jack has already called riding with them so I will be riding with them as well." There was a moment of silence as the two stared at each other before Felix nodded and I heard a faint "Good" come from Mark. Something's off here...

"Come on you guys!" Jean hollered next to me before grabbing my hand and tugging me towards the stage exit. "I want to get dinner going already! Unless you all want leftovers again!"

"NOPE!" Jack, Wade, and Felix made dashes towards the back door as if a horde of zombies were chasing them down. Slowly our large group moves towards the exit which then we all head towards the parking building that was right next to the PAX center. I followed behind quietly, still in shock that I was about to spend the night with all these amazing people. As my little group reached Cry's car, I wondered just how far they actually lived from PAX center. I wanted to talk to them, but if the ride was more than an hour, I would probably fall asleep in the car. Cry and Jean sat up in the front, and while Mark and Jack stood off the side having a debate about who would have to sit in the middle, I climbed into the car claiming one of the seats next to the window. Jack must have won their argument, because Mark, the biggest person in the car, was stuck pouting in the tiny seat in the middle. Everyone chatted excitedly, and I joined in a few times, but for the most part, I just leaned against the door, watching the city pass by. We couldn't have been in the car for very long, but I was still starting to feel a bit tired. I made the mistake of letting my eyes close, and I get my head rest against the window before finally falling asleep.
