Chapter 23
(Third Person POV)
"FUCKING DAMMIT!" VirusCry blared as he kicked over a table causing those behind him to flinch before quickly recovering. They all knew to show fear would be signing your death wish when it came to this... Demonic creature. "HOW DID THEY GET AWAY?!" He growled at the silent circle of his followers, none of each wishing to explain for fear of his outrage growing. Virus stood in the middle for the circle was large enough that there was a foot or two between each member. "WELL?!" One of the hooded beings, dressed in a violet robe versus the more magenta colors of the others around him, knelt before Virus as they spoke for the group as being somewhat their leader.
"Lucius managed to regain control of his body and got here a few moments before us. He warned the others and they were able to gather and leave." They were scared out of their mind but refused to show it in their voice. They knew someone would get punished, and being Virus's second in command, it would probably be them.
"And how did HE escape the lab?! I had specifically said that someone was to keep an eye on him AT ALL TIMES!" His glitching voice rose to an unholy level as the room shook from the power held within a voice of two and not one. His power levels were higher than ever before all thanks to the other within. He was livid and they all knew it along with the result of this all would have one of them beaten if not killed for this mistake.
"We have an idea of their current location and a plan that may work more in our favor," his third in command broke the silence as he knelt before Virus. The woman was dressed in a plum robe showing her ranking compared to her leader. She was risking her neck for him by stepping forward but she knew she had to or else they would lose yet another high ranking officer to the tantrum of their master.
"That was not my question! Answer me!" He began pacing back and forth, destroying things that got in his way with every step. It was better the items of the pathetic bar than the soldiers he required for the upcoming Hellish War. He was determined to kill those that took away what was rightfully HIS.
"We aren't sure sir," his second in command spoke up once more, returning the favor of saving his highest officer's life. "We sent a few men to go check on the lab, and possibly see what had happened." Virus's face turned into a deeper snarl as he punched a hole through the nearest wall. Some of the newest members flinched yet recovered before Virus saw, while the older ones knew better.
"Find out and report back now!" He screamed at his second in command. The hooded figure nodded and snapped their fingers, taking half of the group with him. The woman kept to her kneeling position as she addressed her higher up.
"Sir," the third in command spoke up to the rest of the group. "What would you like us to do?" Virus stepped in front of his third in command. Her heart pound in her ears as she kept her breathing calm and controlled. Fear lead to pain and death among these rankings and she was nowhere near ready.
"Raise to your feet and explain your idea," he demands in a tone that sent the rest of his soldiers to their knees. The woman rose and spoke in a strong, determined tone.
"We know where they are located. Since neither Eric nor Lucius knows about us, we can surprise them. There are also new relationships we can take advantage of. Obviously, there is Melaine and William, as well as Damien and Jeanette and the reformed relationship between Anthony and Micheal. All four of them are fairly close to each other than most of the group." At the sound of Jeanette being with another, Virus growled inhumanely as he snapped his fist straight into the face of one of the newest soldiers, knocking them into the wall behind them and causing them to fall unconscious.
"She. Is. MINE!" He blared as his inner demon came forward. She bit her tongue so she would not come off as terrified even though her heart and eyes would betray her if she looked into his spilt colored eyes.
"We can get her back for you! We just need to bait them! We need the girl or someone must offer themselves as bait. Give them the fantasy that they are ahead of us," his third in command stated as if attempting to bring his leader back to the issue at hand. Virus growled but calmed down enough to think. "All it takes is one of them for everything to fall apart, just one of those meaningless beings and we can bring her back to you."
"The human girl would be the best bait. No doubt every single one of them would come for her," he chuckled out darkly before he suddenly got angry again. "But for that exact reason, she'll be hard to obtain. They'll always be someone at her side." He paced around in thought. "Lucius would be easier to grab, I think. But there's no guarantee any of them would come for him..."
"On the contrary my Lord, we have to entail that Jeanette has softened towards Lucius and in doing so so has the others. They all are on their way to befriending him yet again, believing a story he had given them. We've even come into the knowledge of some articles that we may use to lure him out," the hooded woman spoke with a slight smirk on her lips.
"Oh? And how would we do that?" He asked, a small smirk playing on his lips as well. The hooded woman rose as she stared into her Lord's eyes with a sly smirk tugged at her lips as she whispered in a hushed tone only meant for her Lord to hear the plan she had devised. Virus's smirk grew widely as a maniac laughter filled the room.
