Chapter 10

(Jean's POV)

I can't fucking wait! My mind bounced about with all the different things Mel and I could do. Hey! Don't judge me! I don't get a lot of hangout time with other females! Okay, that sounded pathetic and creepy at the same time. I mentally slap myself as I raise to start collecting plates and clear the table.

"We can get the table, Jean," Bob spoke up. I popped my head up with a wide smile.

"Are ya sure?" I question. I mean, I won't mind but I normally clean up after I cook. I honestly would rather be hanging out with Mel though...

"Totally!" Mark piped in happily with that goofy smile of his. "You and Mel go ahead and hang out!" Fuck yeah!!!!!!

"Oh, okay. Thanks, guys!" I set my plate and all down before turning to Mel. "Whatcha wanna do?" I smile at her, hiding just how excited I was to finally hang out with my best friend in person.

"I don't know," she said, standing up. "I don't usually do sleepovers." She looked at me sheepishly, almost like she was embarrassed by her own words.

"Don't worry... I've never really had a sleepover before either," I chuckle weakly. "Wanna watch horror movies or play a game? I kinda have a lot of both because of well.." I glance about the guys who had taken over my nightly chores.

"A horror movie sounds good!" She cheered. Her previous excitement had returned to her voice. "What do you guys have?" She was in for a horror movie fans' perfect dream.

"You name it, we probably have it or can rent it easily!" I exclaim as all the different kinds fill my head. "From Jason, Freddy, and Michael to the newest ones on DVD, Netflix, Redbox, and On-Demand." She looked up at the ceiling as she thought about which movie she wanted to watch.

"Do you guys have Exorcist? I tried watching it once but the person I was watching with chickened out so I had to turn it off." She looked at me expectantly, clearly wanting me to say yes.

"Oh Hell yeah! No one will fucking watch it with me!" I exclaim. "Sorry if I'm a bit loud and annoying. You see who I room with." I sheepishly grin as there's a collective "HEY!" from the guys.

"It's okay!" She replied, nearly jumping around in joy. "I'm usually like that too! Kinda a learned behavior from watching them 24/7," she said, nodding towards the guys. "But besides that, we need popcorn!"

"Babe, can you get that for them?" Ryan asks Felix and before anyone could move a muscle, the Swedish YouTuber made a Hell raising rush to the kitchen to pop our popcorn.

"What do you want to drink? Any candies?" Mark questions the both of us. It was sweet that they were doing all they could to make this night awesome for Mel and me.

"Coke cola and Reese pieces please?" I request with puppy dog eyes. He chuckles and nods before turning to Mel, awaiting her answer.

"Lemonade and M&M's if possible," she replied, smiling at Mark. He nodded happily and went off to get the snacks for us.

"OW!" Felix hollered followed by a long trail of curse words. I bet Felix didn't wait long enough for grab the popcorn... Again...

"Ryan! Fefe burned himself again!" Mark yelled from the kitchen. There was a mumble of "not again" followed by a loud "COMING!" I chuckle and smiles widely as Bob and Wade finish up the table.

"Never a dull moment here," I say to Mel with a lighthearted chuckle. Though sometimes, I wish it was... I smiled cheerfully at Mel as we waited for our items.

"I would imagine," she said somewhat absentmindedly. It seemed as though she was just watching the guys do their thing, but I knew that something else must have been on her mind.

"What's wrong?" I cocked my head at her curiously. "Are you okay?" She turned her head and looked at me.

"I'll tell you later." Her voice had become quiet, and she looked around like she was trying to figure out if anyone else had heard us.

"Well let's go and get the movie set up," I smile kindly at her. I just hope she's okay... I lead the way towards my room. She followed behind me, her happy demeanor returning quickly. I couldn't tell if she was acting or if the thing that had been bothering her just wasn't that bad. After a few turns here and there, we finally made it to my room. "Well, here we are!" I open the door to a master size bedroom with a queen bed, a decent size tv that was surrounded by shelves of movies, books, and games. There was an old-fashioned dresser with two doors that lead out of the room to my bathroom and closet.

"Damn, you have a really nice room," she breathed out, gazing around in awe. She then walked over and started looking at the games I have. You wouldn't believe that half of the items in here are older than you... I walked over to my bed as Mel continued to glance about the shelves.

"The left side is books and movies the right are more movies and games," I giggle as I watch her with wonder. I know that sounds weird but give me a break already, please? I watched as she moved over to the movie collection, and started flipping through everything.

"Geez, some of these are really old. Isn't this one in black and white?" She pulled out a movie, then put it back before I could see what it was. "Are we renting Exorcist or is it here?"

"Hehe yeah. It's actually on the top shelf. Best horror goes on the top shelf," I smile before bouncing off the bed and reaching for the movie. I quickly set up everything and place the movie in. "By the way, is everything okay? You've seemed a bit off tonight." I hoped she would tell me, to say I worried was an understatement at this point.

"It's nothing really, I was probably just hallucinating or something, but," she sighed, turning away from the movies and facing me. "I was wandering through the house, and the Cry came to grab me, and I could have sworn I saw two of him!" She shook her head. "But that's not possible, there's only one Cry!"

"Oh really?" I question, hiding what I knew. Are you fucking kidding me you two?! Two very different but common voices both apologized. I'll deal with you two tomorrow. "Maybe it was from your nap in the jeep?" I suggest trying to be 'helpful'.

"Maybe, whatever." She shrugged and then looked at the movie in my hand. "Let's just watch movies! Have you ever had chocolate covered popcorn?"

"No, but that sounds amazing!" I giggle. "I bloody love chocolate and popcorn so it sounds perfect."

"Did someone say perfect??" Felix comes into my room striding like a supermodel with our bowl of popcorn in his hand. "And if you need extra butter or any of toppings let me know!" He places the bowl on the bed for us just as Mark walks in with our candy and drinks.

"You guys really didn't have to do this all for us!" I giggled at the royal treatment we were receiving. Mel laughed at Felix as she took her stuff from Mark.

"You asked, and we delivered," Mark replied while bowing with a goofy smile on his face. We both smiled as the two boys left.

"Movie time!" Mel cheered. "I can't believe nobody would watch this with you. They probably could have made a hilarious reaction compilation of something."

"Well when everyone has someone in the house, it's kinda hard to find someone that'll watch it with without their partner," I shrug nonchalantly as if it wasn't a big deal. You could have always asked Micheal to watch it with you~ Anthony's voice popped into my mind. I did my best to hide my annoyance from Mel but ripped into Anthony about this. You really gotta pull this tonight?!

Leave her alone, Babe. A very deep voice rang out through my head. No matter what, I could always trust Damien to be on my side. Between him and Micheal, I didn't have to worry so much. Now come on and let's go eat. Finally, both voices ended up leaving my mind so I could focus on my night with my friend.

"Damn, that sucks. Well, I'm here now! So we can watch movies whenever!" She giggled happily and took a handful of popcorn. "I haven't seen a good horror movie in a while, so that'll be fun. Do you get scared easily?" She asked, looking at me curiously.

"Hell no! I live for horror and gore!" I lived through much worse than any of these movies could show me! I thought to myself. That's when something clicked in me, she may be my friend now but once she found out about the real me... She'll just turn around and run away, calling me crazy.. Just like the others did..

"Jean, are you okay?" I shook my head to clear my thoughts and looked up at her. The curiosity in her eyes had turned to concern as she watched me. "You got really quiet and upset all the sudden."

"Oh yeah, I'm okay!" I scratch the back of my neck embarrassedly. "Just some past thoughts caught up to me. Don't worry though, I'm all good." I glance at the tv as the PLAY screen is on. "Let's start the movie, shall we?" I grab my drink and take a sip as I start it.

"Oh alright," Mel said, sounding somewhat unconvinced. She then turned and pointed at my bed. "Can I sit..?"

"Of course! What's mine is yours, Mel," I chuckled. I wanted her to feel as welcome as possible. "I'm just like any other person. I promise I won't bite!"

"If you did that would be weird," she replied, giggling. She moved and sat next to me, taking a handful of M&M and some popcorn, and eating them at the same time. She then pushed both snacks towards me. "You should try it!" I take a handful and try it.

"Nice but..." I throw in some of my Reese pieces. "I'd rather do peanut and chocolate." I smile widely, happy that things were finally calm for once. Mel turned back to the movie, watching intently as she drank her lemonade. I chuckled at how into the movie she seemed to be, despite us only being a few minutes into it. I turned my attention to the movie and fell silent as I watched.
