Chapter 1

(Jean's POV)

'Finally!' The thought rings through my head as I slowly made my way through the overly populated convention center. 'I finally get to meet her!' My body was nearly bouncing from the excitement of finally getting to meet Melanie. I couldn't wrap my mind around the thought, to be honest. We had only become friends almost a year ago, all thanks to a social site we met on. Being stuck in my daydream, I slam into something hard and tumble backward.

"Ow..." I groan out as I rub my head. I guess I did the right thing by wearing jeans and a huge sweatshirt instead of dressing up like I had originally planned. Don't judge me!

"Are you okay, Princess?" That voice... I glance up to see the one and only Mark Edward Fishbach, better known as Markiplier. I stared at him star struck before realizing a key trait, his eyes were flashing colors. Shock disappeared as a bit of 'what the frook' appeared in its place.

"I am okay," I whisper as I tried to decide if my mind was playing tricks on me or not. He offers me his hand and I take it as if I wasn't standing in front of someone who'd save my arse more than he knew. As he helps me up, I whisper only for his ears to hear. "What the hell are you doing in there, Dark?" I could feel his smirk though he quickly hid it and replaced it with concern.

"You never informed us of you coming to PAX," he stated with a bit of annoyance. I kept my tone even and quiet since we were getting a few stares.

"Look we can talk about this later. I am meeting a friend and I do not want you to ruin it. I am twenty-four years old, Damien. I can handle myself," not giving him a chance to reply I smiled at him. "I'm so sorry about that!" After a small annoyed glare, his red eyes faded back to Mark's cocoa browns.

"Oh.. Wow," Mark shook his head before being able to focus on me. "Jean?" I nodded with a smile as his eyes widen. "Jean!!!!" I was quickly wrapped up in his arms as he hugged me tightly. I giggle as he tells me how much he's missed me and so on.

"Mark. Mark! Put me down! People are starting to stare," I tell him through my giggle fit. Realizing this, he gently sets me down while blushing a bit. "Besides..." I lean closer and whisper, "I don't need your boyfriend getting jealous now do we?" He blushes a faint bit but chooses to ignore my comment.

"S-sorry!" He chuckles while rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "It's just... All the guys and I have missed you. Especially Cry..." He gave a fake cough meaning it was someone connected to Cryaotic.

"Oh... I see..." I blush before cover my cheeks. An announcer comes over the intercom stating that all the guest YouTubers need to report to their panels. "Looks like we both gotta get going. Later Mark!"

"Later Jean!" Mark takes off in the opposite direction of me as I race to the soon to be opening panel doors. 'Please still be there waiting, Mel!'

(Mel's POV)

I walked around the huge room filled with large booths selling merch and people dressed up to look like their favorite anime characters. Everything seemed so brightly colored and loud, and it was honestly a bit overwhelming, especially since it was the first convention I've ever been to. I shoved my way through the huge crowds, muttering "excuse me" and "sorry", though, nobody seemed to mind very much. As I walked I looked up and saw a large sign with the pokémon logo on it, and being the huge nerd I am, I hopped right over. I spent about 20 dollars on a deck of trading cards and an Eevee plushie because it was too cute not to buy. As I walked through the crowd I got a notification on my phone. It was a reminder I must have set: YouTube Panel at noon. Hold on...

"Ten minutes!" A few people around me turned and looked confused, but didn't ask what was wrong. I can't even get through this crowd in ten minutes! I thought, starting to freak out a bit. I began to push my way through the people, and thankfully the mass in the room began to thin. As I reached the exit, I broke into the fastest sprint I would dare, which was really just a kind-of-fast jog because I didn't want to crash into anyone. Thankfully, I didn't have to stop and look at a map of the building, because I had passed the room before and knew where it was. Hopefully. I managed to find the room with about three minutes before we were allowed in. Or at least, I think it was the room. It was a huge crowd gathered around the general area where I had seen the room before. I moved back a bit, hugging the Eevee tightly to my chest. I didn't like large crowds too much, but I guess I'd have to make an exception this once. I looked around, probably seeming lost, before finally remembering the reason I had come to PAX in the first place.

"How am I supposed to find Jean in this?" I muttered out loud. I could yell out her name, but there's probably more than one Jean here, and I didn't want everyone's attention turned to me. I could try to message her, but would she see it in time? What the hell am I supposed to do?

(Third Person POV)

"Frook..." Jean had finally made it to the door but it was completely surrounded. "Alright... Desperate times call for desperate measures..." Gathering up all her courage she blared into the crowd. "MELANIE HERTHA!!!!" It seemed that almost half of the group around her went silent and glanced around as if looking for one of the YouTubers. After hanging out so much with Jack, her voice had begun to pick up the Irishman's accent when she yelled. Quickly, she yells again for her friend, this time many stares turning my way.

"Jean Grey??" A faint yet strong yell in the distance. The sound seemed to come from the edge of the mass of fans. Jean cursed herself as she began to make her way through the crowd.

"Excuse me. Pardon me. Please move!" She rapidly says to those around her. By chance about more than half of the group were stunned by her vocals, that they swiftly move aside or simply dodged her before she nearly knocked them down. "Mel?!" Jean yell one more time as the crowd finally thins as she neared the other side.

"One minute call out for the Septiplier and Pewdiecry Panel!" A fangirl screamed through the microphone. Jean shook her head in exasperation as the fangirls that surrounded her screamed with joy, excitement, and who knows why else before there was some kinda noise over the PA before an official voice came over and fixed the fangirl's saying. She mentally curses at the fangirls before continuing her way towards Mel.

Mel stood at the edge of the crowd, wondering if there were even enough seats for this many people, and how she was supposed to find Jean who had just yelled out to her. Normally, she might have pushed through everyone, but she knew not to mess with a bunch of rowdy fangirls. It probably wouldn't end well.

"Jean, where are you?" She yelled out again, hoping to get a more exact location of her friend, who somehow got to the front of the 'line'.

"Mel! Turn around!" Jean yells after finally finding her friend through the madness that surrounded both the young women. Smiling, Jean made her way to Mel at last while ignoring some of the stares she was receiving.

The brunette turned to see one of her closest friends standing beside her. She smiled brightly. They had wanted to meet for so long and it was finally happening.

"Hi," There was so much she wanted to say, but that was all she could get out of her mouth. Mel wanted to laugh and cry and hug Jean, but she just stood there standing.

"Hug?" Jean asks awkwardly in a kind of cute way. Mel laughs and hugs her friend tightly before letting go and showing the little plush she had bought.

"I bought this. Not sure why you needed to know that, but now you do," she shrugged. Jean's eyes widen as a childlike giggle bubbles out of her throat and she bounces on her feet.

"That's so cute!!!!!!!!!!" She exclaims loudly enough for the others around them to glance at her like she was insane. Being Jean, she simply just ignored them while continuing to bounce on her feet yet for a whole other reason. "So... I gotcha a surprise...." Jean smiles excitedly as her plan plays throughout her head.

"Oh? Can I know what it is?" Mel loved surprises, but she also hated waiting, so when the surprise wasn't given immediately after its announcement, she could get restless trying to figure out what it was. Smiling, Jean pulled out two behind the panel passes before handing one to Mel.

"Here you go!" She exclaimed with a wide smile and bright eyes.

"Holy shit that's awesome! How did you get these?" She took her's and looked at it with awe, before smiling at Jean with equally bright eyes filled with excitement. Jean shrugs as if it's nothing while stating she has her ways.

"Now come on! The doors about to open and these passes allow us to be one of the first in!!!!" She grabbed her friend's hand, almost dragging her to the front of the large crowd. Mel laughed as she was pulled through the group of people. She looked around at everyone. They all looked super hyped for what was about to happen, but a few looked annoyed as the pair pushed past them. Melanie looked down at the floor to avoid making eye contact with said people, only looking up again once she and Jean were at the door.

"Good afternoon ladies!" An excited female employee greeted the pair. "Tickets please?" The two showed her their passes, the employee's smile seemed to flicker with a hint of envy but she remained kind as she nodded. "Ah! I see now. Right, this way!" She leads the two giggling friends down the aisle ways and to the front rows. "Enjoy!" she exclaimed before returning to her post outside the opening doors. Mel looked around at all of the seats around them. She couldn't even imagine what it would be like on the stage, with everyone's attention on you as you speak. She felt like she was gonna freak out just being in the place, and it was empty! She sat next to Jean and turned around as people began to file in and take their seats.

"This is gonna be awesome." She had spoken in a normal voice, but it sounded like a whisper against the roar of the people filling in, talking, screaming, taking seats from the front and working their way back.

"I know right?!" Jean grinned wickedly wide. "But just you wait! This will be the best day ever!" She smiles cheekily as her plan rolls through her head once again. 'I just hope she likes all this...' Jean thought to herself worriedly though she never showed an ounce of it. More people began filling the spaces around them as the time crept closer and closer to being panel time.

"You can say that again," Mel turned back around and looked at the stage. She could already imagine all her favorite people sitting up there, laughing, answering questions, and just having fun. And she was going to be able to meet them at the end of the panel. With a huge smile she looked at the ticket in her hand and then up at Jean. "Thank you so much."

"No problem Mel!" She turns to her friend smiling softly as the doors shut and the crowd slowly dies down. "Three... Two... One..." Just as Jean said one, an announcer comes over the PA just as the crowd becomes full of tension.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to PAX Prime 2017!" The crowd roared in applause as the excitement builds to ungodly levels. Jean glances at Mel though her friend is staring intently at the stage. A very well-known voice rumbles on the speakers causing many fangirls and guys alike to scream and howl in anticipation.

"Now, now folks... Let's see who your panelists for this evening will be..." His rough, deep voice called over the growing noise of many different fans. "Now please welcome..."
