Chapter 7
(A.N This chapter can be considered a little...depressing...so bare with me on this.)
"I honestly don't care."
Dave was at the front of the school, cigar in his mouth. He stood in front of Hellbent who looked out to the parking lot while leaning against a pole. The sun was setting. It was time to go home.
"Hanna is just Hanna you know? You know how the poplars get." Dave continued crossing his arms.
Hellbent sighed and turned to Dave. "I guess you are right Dave. Maybe I am just over reacting." He said looking back.
Dave bumped his arm. "You cool bro?"
Hellbent shrugged. "I don't know anymore. Sometimes I kinda wonder why I am here still." He lifted up his hand and stared at it. It shifted from crimson claws to regular red hands. He made a fist. "So tell me. Why do you care?"
"About?"
"Everything. We have been friends for years. You knew I am a demon from the start." He turned to face Dave, eyes flaming. "So why? Why do you have my back? You should be cowering in fear at what I can do. But you stick with me."
Dave tilted his head. "Is that a problem?"
Hellbent grabbed his collar and lifted him off his feet. "Yes it is. You care to much. Why!?" He glared at him, his hands slowly heating up. "Why the hell am I still here!? I could kill you all!" The heat began to burn Dave's collar. "I am a demon! Born to murder. Don't you understand!?" The tips of Hellbent's horns sparked and went ablaze with flames. "Imagine if I lost my control. Imagine the smile I would have while I rip your heart out of your chest." A cruel smile cheeped onto Hellbent's lips. His flaming eyes twitched as he started laughing. His teeth barred.
Dave looked down at Hellbent not afraid. He smiled and lifted his arm. "Hellbent..." He pat his shoulder.
Hellbent's murderous smile began to fade as the flames started to dim. He slowly began to lower Dave. "......" He let go of his collar and the flames died completely. He looked at his feet and shook his head. "Sorry."
He and Dave stood there for a few minutes in silence, both looking away from each other. Finally the silence was cut when Pringle pulled up in his van. Dave waved goodbye and climed inside. Without Dave noticing, Pringle shot a dirty look at Hellbent before driving off out of sight.
Hellbent looked at his feet, awkwardly shifting then back and forth. He was tired so decided it was time to go home. With a yawn, he spun around and re entered the building, looking for Dolan.
........
"Give it to me now..."
Hanna looked up helplessly at the huge figure loaming over her. It was her older sister, Hellan. In her right hand is a small, white brush. "B-but it's mine...-" She stammered.
"Don't make me tell mom on you brat." Hellan snapped as she kicked Hanna in the stomach. Hanna winced and her grip on the brush melted. It bounced in front of Hanna and Hellan scooped it up. She shot a angry glare at Hanna and then proceeded to kick her. Hanna pressed her arms on her face for protection from the fury of her older sister. She shut her eyes tight.
"Don't have little Dolan here to protect you huh brat?" Hellan slowed her kicks to see Hanna open her eyes shocked. " He doesn't love you. Give it up already." Hanna started shaking with anger. "I saw your little shrine in the basement. Imagine if I told mom. We would both tear that room to pieces. I can see it now. I will be burning the face of all your Dolan pictures."
"STOP SAYING STUFF ABOUT DOLAN!" Hanna yelled jumping on Hellan. She proceeded to send several blows to her chest and face.
"MAMA!" Hellan screamed like she was being murdered. "MAMA!!"
A tall, lean woman in a white dress burst into the room. She tore Hanna off of Hellan while Hanna was still punching and screaming. Hellan helped in pinning Hanna to the floor. Hanna yelled and spat in protest. Mama slapped Hanna in the back of the head.
"Quiet monster! How dare you assault my beautiful daughter." Mama motioned toward Hellan.
"You get her good Mama!" Hellan cheered. Mama hoisted Hanna up and pinned her arms behind her back. With the help of Hellan, they got her hoisted into the air. Hanna yelled and kicked widely like a caged animal.
They threw her into the basement. Hanna landed on the cement floor with a THUD! Hellan and Mama cackled with laughter. "Stay in your place!" Hellen yelled before slamming the door. The door instantly locked as Hanna rose from the floor. A few feet from her face was a crumpled up picture of Dolan smiling. Tears welding up in her eyes, Hanna crawled over an picked up the picture. Her knees were scrapped. Her cheek was bleeding. She had bruises all along her stomach. She grasped the picture gently and the tears began to fall.
"One day..." She whispered, her voice cracking a few times. "One day soon Dolan..."
"You will be mine..."
