Chapter 16
"Shima! I-"
BANG!
"God can you shut up already?" The room fell quiet as Dolan was suddenly cut off by a gunshot. "Honestly both of you are always yelling." Dolan's gaze fell on the black figure standing in the shadows. As Dolan's eyes adjusted, the figure became more clear. "But I should know better than anyone..." It was strange, this figure had the same accent as Dolan. Almost identical. The figure stepped out from the shadow and smiled. "Isn't that right...brother?" The gun in his hand was pointed at the ceiling and above the barrel was a hole in the ceiling. He must have shot the ceiling to shut Dolan up.
Dolan's eyes widened as he took a step back. "what-" He looked over and saw Shima...sleeping? She was patched up with fresh white bandages. 'Did-did he patch her up for me?' Dolan thought looking back up at the mysterious man. "Y-your not my brother...Hellbent-"
"Hellbent this! Hellbent that!" The man sighed. "God..all these lies annoy me." The man lowered his and shook his head. "but..that's not why I'm here." He snapped his fingers and Dolan felt a presence behind him.
"Sorry Dolan honey!" Hanna pounced on Dolan's back and pinned him from behind. Dolan gasped and before he could react, Hanna clapped a white cloth over his mouth, filled with chloroform.
"Word of advice. Stay out of this. You don't need to be involved in this anymore. You or Critical." The man said flipping Shima onto his shoulder. Dolan frantically tried not to breath in but it was too late, he was losing consciousness. "As in incentive for you to stay out, I will take your little...'friend' here. Maybe I will give her back when Hellbent and Pringle submit."
"S-Shima..." Dolan muttered, his eyelids feeling heavy.
The man smiled and leaned into Dolan's ear. "Sweet dreams..." Dolan felt limp and finally lost the fight of being awake.
"Shima..."
..........................................
Dolan woke up in bed. He blinked and put a hand over his face. "Is this a dream?" He rolled over and fell off the bed with a THUMP! He scrambled to get up. On his dresser was his hat and phone. He grabbed his hat and put it on his head than turned on his phone. Dolan had a huge headache but he ignored it as he dialed Hellbent's number. He called Hellbent, hoping he was okay.
"Yeah?" Hellbent answered sounding tired.
"ARE YOU OKAY!? WHERE ARE YOU?" Dolan yelled worried.
"Dude...I just left the house...remember I live with you? I'm your brother remember? Anyway I am walking to school right now. Where are you?" Hellbent asked.
Dolan blinked and moved the phone from his ear. "Wait...was that a dream?" He looked around his room. "No way. That couldn't be it. It..." He had memory flashes of what has happened in the past week. "It was too real."
"Dolan? You still there?"
Dolan raised the phone back to his ear. "Yeah. See ya there." He hung up, not caring for a answer. He sighed and recollected his thoughts. "Who was that man who claimed to be my brother?" He slid to the floor. "What does he mean by lies? Is Hellbent not my brother?" He looked at his phone and got a idea. "If this was a dream then..." He put in Shima's number and waited for her to answer.
"This number doesn't exist. Please dial again."
Dolan looked at his phone wide eyed. "No..." He jumped up, grabbed his backpack and raced out the door. He ran to school, not stopping for breath.
"Shima!!!" He yelled through the halls. "SHIMA!!!!" His heart raced, not the way when he sees Shima, but fearfully. He ran past Hellbent who tried to stop him but Dolan broke through.
"SHIMA!!!!" After a while the bell rung to go to class and teachers began urging him to go to class. By that time he was in tears. Teachers had to drag him into class as he screamed "SHIMA!!!!" He tried to break past and finally he got out of the teacher's grip.
Dolan ran through the hallways and every room, looking for Shima. Finally he ended up in the courtyard. He collapsed on the grass, crying and yelling Shima's name. "Where are you Shima!?"
He stayed in that position for a while, screaming and crying, hoping Shima could hear him. There was footsteps coming from behind him but he didn't listen. Suddenly a hand clapped over his mouth, shutting him up.
"God that's annoying. Stop crying already." Dolan looked up and saw Dan, standing over him. "Seriously stay out of my business Dolan."
