Sunshine
Two weeks had passed since everything went back to normal.
The days seemed to go by like leafs being blown by the autumn wind.
Quiet and peaceful days seemed to be all there was for the girls that enjoyed literature, but despite that, they still all had things to face and overcome, things they'd fight through to reach the long awaited happiness that the literature club once denied.
"Hahahaha! Of course!! Anything for you Aono!", a boy with a pompadour, wearing a dark blue gakuran with no shirt underneath said. "Yeah! You can count on us!", a girl with long blond curly hair dressed almost the same as the pompadour guy except for bandages wrapped around her chest area, said smiling and patting the dark blue haired girl on the back.
"I thought you'd be upset with me for not showing up all of sudden", Ryona said smiling sadly. "Why, no! We're just glad to see you again and that you're doing well! We'd heard all about it anyway, you two have our blessing!", the pompadour guy said cheerfully. "If you say it like that it's embarrassing", Ryona said blushing lightly. "Besides, we'd do anything for one of our comrades!", the blond delinquency girl said smiling cheerfully.
"People may just see us as mere delinquents or problematic youngsters, but we're more than that, we're a group", the pompadour guy said raising his fist. "We're a team!", The blond girl added. "And most importantly, we're a family! We've fought and overcome many situations together, side by side! And you Ryona, have been there most of the times!", The delinquent boy said pointing at Ryona. "You guys...", Ryona said smiling warmly at the two delinquents.
"Well it's all set, we'll pick you up at the time you indicated and we'll have everything ready, you go out there and prepare for the match!", the pompadour guy said patting Ryona's back. "I will, thanks, this is gonna be one for the ages!", Ryona said flashing an enthusiastic smile.

"Why of all days it's always when it's the closet to that...", Sayori said to herself as she laid down and grabbed a cow plushie, clutching it against her chest tight, while she closed her eyes and hoped the ever present rainclouds scattered across her mind a little.
"Because no one really cares of course. That day is just a reminder of a nuisance still exists in their lives. This past month especially everyone at school has reminded that to me, so yeah why bother anymore... Because they care. Do they really? None of them has even said or mentioned anything about it, no one seems even the least worried about it... No, no, no, I'm being just stupidly selfish! I'm a horrible person after all...", Sayori keep thinking before the sound of her ringtone interrupted her, grabbing her phone from the night table only to see it was her girlfriend, she then answered the call with a little smile on her face, as if she was expecting something.
"Hey there my little ball of joy!", Ryona said on the other side of the phone. "Don't call me a ball, you make me feel fat!", Sayori said jokingly. "A-Ah, sorry I-I just thought it would sound nice and-", Ryona responded with an awkward tone. "I'm just kidding blueberry muffin", Sayori replied chuckling. "Hehe, alright enough nicknames for now, it's too much for my level of awkwardness", Ryona said blushing to herself.
"Alright, what's up then my tough teddy bear?", Sayori replied trying not not laugh. "Oh boy...", Ryona said with her cheeks red as a tomato, thankful no one was watching her, while Sayori finally chuckled on the other side of the phone. "ANYWAY, I called to ask you if you maybe... Umm wanted go spend the night over at my place?", Ryona asked shyly for some reason. "OF COURSE I WANT!", Sayori yelled. "Haha, well that was unexpectedly easy", Ryona said giggling. "It's the first time you invite me to your house, I ain't missing this chance for anything!", Sayori said smiling widely to herself.
A brief silence then made itself present before Sayori spoke again. "Are you still there Ry?", the red bow girl asked a little concerned. "Ah, yeah, it's just... I really like it when you are happy and excited like that", the delinquent looking girl said with a warmth filling her chest. "I'm trying", the thought simply came to Sayori's head. "You're such a sweetheart", Sayori replied giggling making Ryona's warmth inside her chest even more intense.

After doing a quick cleaning that didn't quite satisfied her in the end but would be enough, time flew and suddenly the knocking on the front door startled Ryona as she quickly hid the brush and a bag with the trash she just gathered under her bed, running downstairs telling her mother "I'll go".
As soon as the dark blue haired girl opened the door she was tackled by a girl with hair colored like a peach and a red bow, who hugged her tight before proceeding to go upstairs.
"Aren't you gonna introduce your friend to me Ryona? Seems like you finally brought a fine kid", a woman's voice was heard from somewhere in the house. "Later mother! Keep watching your boxing show", Ryona replied and Sayori giggled quietly.
"So what are we gonna do?", Sayori said as she walked around her girlfriends room, curious inspecting the surroundings. "Ummm let's watch a movie for now, shall we?", Ryona said blushing lightly for having Sayori in her room. "Okay!", Sayori said bouncing as she excitedly dragged Ryona to sit with her on the floor.
After around an hour into the movie, Sayori couldn't help but ask something to her girlfriend that was starting to bother her. "Hey Ry, where are those motorcycle sounds coming from? I hear them closer and closer everytime", the red bow girl asked with her head leaned on Ryona's shoulder. "Eh... Outside I guess, look through the window if you want", the tough girl said calmly. "K!", Sayori said hopping up and walking towards the only window in that room.
"Ry", Sayori said. "Yeah?", Ryona replied calmly while she kept watching the movie. "WHY IS THERE A BIKER GANG OUTSIDE YOUR HOUSE?!", the peach haired girl asked quite disturbed. "Ah, it's time, come on, let's go", the delinquent looking girl said standing up calmly and walked towards the door. "You're coming or what?", Ryona asked after watching Sayori standing there confused.
"OSU!!", everyone said perfectly coordinated. "Thank you very much for coming guys!", Ryona said smiling. "No problem at all sister!", among the around 30 delinquent boys and girls and their motorbikes, the pompadour guy appeared as he spoke. "Osu, thank you very much, boss!", Ryona said bowing her head at the guy. "Enough thanks! Now, I'm pretty sure this cute girl behind you is wondering what the heck is going and who the heck are these people?", the apparent leader of the gang said glancing and flashing a smile at Sayori who was yet as confused.
"Boss, please no hitting on my girl", Ryona punched the pompadour's guy shoulder playfully. "Hahaha, alright, then at least give us a proper introduction!", the guy said. "Sayori, come here", the dark blue haired girl said extending her hand to Sayori. The red bow confused girl took her girlfriends hand and stood next to her shyly. "These are my brothers and sisters! I present to you the Kanto Deathly Motorized Alliance!", Ryona said and then around 30 delinquents threw a fist to the air screamed at the same time, "Nice to meet ya!".
"Eh?", Sayori said puzzled. "A-Ah I know they may look intimidating but I swear they are good people and-", Ryona panicked a little putting a hand on Sayori's shoulder reassuringly. "How do all your brothers and sisters fit inside your house?! I barely saw 4 rooms in there! But your mom really is amazing, taking care of all these kids by herself!", Sayori said really confused, causing everyone to laugh happily for a brief moment.
"It's just figure of speech! They're my brothers and sisters but from different parents you could say", Ryona laughed a little bit more. "Now come on princesses, your horse is ready!", the blond delinquent said as some of the gang members step aside revealing a classic Harley motorcycle with the flag of the gang attached to it.
Ryona then dragged the still confused Sayori and got on the bike. "Now come on, get on and well, hold on tight to me", Ryona said that last part blushing. "I-Is it really okay we do this? We're underaged and I've only ride bicycles and-", Sayori said looking around at the gang members. "Take it easy Yori! Just get on!", the blond curly haired girl said pushing Sayori gently onto the bike, helping her getting on.
"Alright guys! Let's get moving!", The pompadour leader said as everyone started their engines. "You better hold on tight princess!", the blond girl shouted at Sayori who panicking, wrapped her arms tight around Ryona's waist, making the tough girl blush ever more.
It was around 11:00 pm when the ride began, around 20 motorbikes took off from Sayori's house.
The girl of the eyes the color of the ocean held on tight to her girlfriend, for a brief moment closing her eyes hoping she wouldn't fall, but eventually it started to become easier.
Soon enough, Sayori opened her eyes and relieved some of the pressure of her hold on Ryona's waist. She then noticed they were around downtown, not many people were passing by at that hour and very few cars could be seen. The stores, most of them closed, the streets and some houses, all remained illuminated, Malin the town still look lively despicable the lack of people around.
The sight was fascinating and it almost seemed they had the road all for themselves, like in those racing games Sayori would sometimes play.
Time flew as they continued their ride, and soon they were leaving town behind and most signs of modernization as well as they started driving through the countryside. That night the sky was clear and stars were starting to be visible, the nature surrounding them making it seem the urban area never existed.
Sayori was at that point just resting her head on Ryona's back, with her arms wrapped around her waist more in a lovingly way than a way not to fall from the vehicle, all while she contemplated the ever changing landscape as they continued. "Somehow, it feels like it's just me and her alone in this world", Sayori thought and warm smile crept on her face.
After riding uphill, the ride finally seemed to come to an end as everyone stopped and Sayori was brought back to earth from admiring the late night landscape. "Sayori, come on, we're here", Ryona put her hand gently on top of her girlfriends small hands that were still holding onto her waist. "Ah! Osu!", Sayori shouted surprised finally back on Earth, making Ryona and her gang laugh again.
"Aren't you like scared of walking around the mountains forest at 1 am?", the dark blue haired girl asked the smiley girl of the red bow who was humming quietly as she walked, hand in hand with her. "I probably would've pissed my pants if it wasn't because I'm with you and other 30 tough looking people around, I'm sure ghosts won't mess with us", Sayori said smiling sweetly. "Of course", Ryona giggled and then Sayori wrapped her arms around Ryona's own clinging to her and making the delinquent girl's face flush.
"We're finally here boys and girls!", The pompadour guy said after finally reaching the highest point in that mountain, finally leaving the world of trees behind, where two other boys wearing the same kind of gakuran as them were waiting sitting around the bonfire.
"Alright, it's time to celebrate!! Let's drink to our hearts content!!", the gang leader said throwing a fist to the air. "Osu!", everyone, including Ryona replied enthusiastically. "D-Drinking?! We're underaged and maybe we really shouldn't-", the peach haired girl, who was the only one not being so enthusiast about it, said nervously. "Hahaha, relax! We're just drinking soda! Well except for Matsuo there who brought his own Sake but he's harmless don't worry", the pompadour leader said pointing at one of his comrades with a mustache and his hair almost shaved except for a handful of hair on top his head and the sides, kind of like bushes, who flashed a smile at his mention.
Eventually Sayori corroborated that indeed it was a healthy and nice celebration with Soda, campsite stories and some games. For people usually seen as problematic, they were really nice and fun to have around, Sayori thought.
Somehow Sayori managed to stay awake through the night and a few minutes before it was 7 am, Ryona grabbed her by the wrist and silently dragged her away from the camp where some gang members were already sleeping while others kept chatting lively. "Where are we going?", Sayori asked curious but faithfully following her girlfriend. "You'll see it soon", Ryona simply replied.
The couple finally stopped in an isolated area, where the town where they lived was visible along with all the nature surrounding the countryside where they came from. "Come on, sit here with me", Ryona said patting a spot next to her after sitting on a fallen trunk to which she quickly obeyed.
"What is all of this Ry?", Sayori finally asked after some minutes of silence just watching the horizon. "Wait just a little bit more... oh here it comes!", Ryona then pointed at the far distance where the sun started to rise and shine above the lively looking town where many memories have been created. "It's beautiful!", Sayori said bouncing lightly. "I know right? We usually can't see how wonderful the sunshine really is when it's already above us, so this time of the day is perfect to appreciate it", Ryona said smiling sweetly. "Yeah, I think you're right", Sayori smiled back.
"So, really beautiful isn't it? Doesn't it make you feel something?", Ryona asked again. "Too much! And it makes me appreciate the wonderfulness of the world and life, that at times like this we can do anything and the world is ours!", Sayori said enthusiastically. "I'm glad you think so because I couldn't have explained it better myself. And because that's exactly how you make me feel everytime I see you", Ryona paused briefly, noticing Sayori's eyes starting to sparkle. "Just like the sun shining, you're what brings joy and light to our lives, the one that makes me get up from the bed and makes me yearn for another day of life, you're the one the one that lits up my existence, you're my sunshine", Ryona said looking Sayori in the eye, blushing lightly.
Sayori was speechless and was trying to gather the correct words before Ryona added one more thing. "Happy birthday", the dark blue haired girl said with a sweet smile. Sayori then stopped thinking about what to say and planted a long soft loving kiss on Ryona's lips.
The rainclouds then started disappearing little by little, leaving Sayori's mind at ease for that moment, comprehending that keep trying does pay off in the end and that sometimes all she has to do is look above in the sky and embrace that never ending shine that's trying to light up her life with everything she's got.
A/N: as always, pic made using picrew because all I can draw are sticks and circles my dudes, although Ryona didn't end up looking quite as I would've liked to but okay.
