David's POV

I was now home from the movie theater. Funny Girls was without a doubt, a true comedy about two girls, getting themselves involved in funny situations. The part that made me laugh was when Kate squirted ketchup on Ashley's white blouse, during the cookout. We were in hysterics. It certainly took my mind off of what was happening in my family.

My grandmother was very ill. She was battling lung cancer. She was a heavy smoker, and had smoked for years. She doesn't live here in Florida. She lives in Georgia, where I was born and raised. I looked at photos of her during our family reunions in Georgia. She was the life of the party. My grandmother would always tell jokes, and make us laugh.

Just the thought of her, made a tear fall down my eye. My mom just called me, telling me, that the doctors said, she wasn't getting any better. She was losing her battle against lung cancer. And, she also said, that she could go any day now. The doctors have tried all they could, but have lost all hope. I tried to deny that. I was a very faithful person. I would pray to God every night, before going to sleep. I would pray that my grandmother would win the battle. There was still hope, and I stood by that.

I tried to distract myself by thinking of the funny movie, I seen with my friends, today. After that, I boiled some hot dogs for dinner, and put some ketchup and mustard on them.

It was eventually time for bed. I had church in the morning, so I quickly brushed my teeth, changed into my pajamas, said my prayers, and climbed into bed.

My grandmother will be fine.
