Nathan’s P.O.V.

We pulled up in front of Cole house that I remember all too well. 

It feels like years since I saw him. But one thing was for sure he wasn’t anything like his cousin. I handed the taxi driver a ten before sliding out the car with Autumn closely behind me.

She hasn’t said a word since we left the hotel. She was nervous about meeting Kendal’s cousin and she was also unsure about going to Cole and then having him find out that we are out to kill his cousin but the thing between Cole and Kendal is that Cole hates Kendal with a passion.

 I really don’t know why but I know he just does. 

Without hesitation I reached down and graded her hand. Her soft, warm hand felt good in mine.

 She looked up at me for the first time and gave me a small smile. With my other hand I reached out to ring the door bell but before I could press the button the front door open and there standing in the door way was Cole. 

“Nathan! Long time no see.” He said giving me a man hug. “I could say the same to you.” I said pulling away from him. He glanced over to my side and smiled. “This must be your girl.” He said looking over at Autumn. She looked confused so I decided to butt in. 

“Yup, that’s Autumn.” I said giving her a small smile that she didn’t return.

“Well I got some new’s for you guys that you might want to sit for.” Cole said inviting us inside 

He led us to his living room. I sat on the loveseat and Autumn sat next to me as Cole sat across from us. 

“Kendal’s getting married.” He said with no hint of sarcasm in his voice. But there was nothing funny about it. I swear what wrong with Kendal? He tried forcing Autumn to be his wife but that wasn’t going to happen because she was mine. But now he got some other girl forced to get married against her will.

“But you know what the funny part is she actually agreed to marry him.” Cole said clapping his hand together and leaning back into the sofa.

“How long have they known each other?” Autumn said speaking for the first time since we got here. You could tell that she was mad by the way she was talking but she was also calm about the situation. That’s why I love her, even throw rough times she still manages to stay calm.

Cole shrugged his shoulders “A week, probably two. But next week he’s having a big wedding and that’s when my plan comes in.” Cole said getting off the sofa and walking out of the room. “I’ll be back, don’t do anything important while I’m gone.” He said before disappearing up the stairs.

“The thing I don’t get about Kendal is why does he want to get married so soon?” Autumn asked looking at me but them looking at our still entwined hands. 

“I mean he doesn’t take the time to actually get to know the girl, he just wants to cut right to the chase and get hitched. It‘s not like he‘s old or anything.” She said playing with our fingers. That’s a good question….

Without thinking I pulled her onto my lap and looked her in the eyes before saying. “I don’t care what that ass does. I rather him get married to some random girl instead of you.” I brought my hand up and started stroking her cheek. She didn’t break eye contact but she didn’t speak. “Your way to percious.” I told her pulling her into my chest.

“Nathan?” she asked, whispering my name. 

“Yeah Cupcake?” I asked her. She was so attractive but yet so fragile. I held her close so that she couldn’t shatter. But our closeness wasn’t enough to satisfy my needs. I want more!                    

“Yo---You make me feel….different.” she said frozen in place. She hadn’t move since I put her on my lap but I wasn’t complaining. That just proves she could feel the bond between us too. “And it scares me…” she said. 

I let out a short laugh before saying. “You don’t have to be scared of me Cupcake. I love you, I’ll never let you get hurt again. Even if I have to pay with my life.” She looked at me for a while before smiling at me and saying “Thanks" 

“No problem. It’s my job.” I told her before a smirk came onto my face. “Can I ask you a question?”  

“What is it?” she asked and you could tell by the look she was giving me that she didn’t want to know what I was thinking.

“At the end of that letter, did you mean everything that you wrote?” I asked her. That’s when she got off my lap and she turned pale. Even though I knew that it was true I felt the need to ask. She looked away from me and begun picking at her nails. Something that she would to when she was nervous or scared.

“We weren’t done talking about this at the hospital and we are never going to be done with his situation if you keep pushing it away.” I paused but she still didn’t say anything. “I’ve been ready to talk about us for a long time.” At that moment Cole came back downstairs with a bottle of pills.

“Ok, I got everything together but….” He looked between me about Autumn. “Didn’t I say ‘Don’t do anything important while I was gone?” he said laughing and looking at us. “I’ll find out sooner or later what’s up between you guys.” She said shaking his head in amusement.

“What are those pills for?” Autumn said.

“These pills are for Nathan.” He was handing the bottle over to me. “No offence but your scent is strong and these pills will help hide your scent from vampires only. So you might want to take one now.” Cole stated. I did what he said opening the bottle and put one of the yellow pills in my mouth, swallowing it in one whole.

“How about me? Do I have to take pills?” Autumn asked.

“No, since you’re not mated or claimed by your mate yet your werewolf sent is only faint. Meaning that I could smell that you’re a werewolf by your blood but I could only tell because I’m really focusing on your scent. Kendal’s not going to try to focus on your scent because he’s stupid and stubborn. 

“So let’s get my plan out there should we?” Kendal asked clapping his hands together and looking at the both of us.

“First I think for the next few days before the wedding we should probably follow Kendal around just to make sure that he’s not up to anything else. Then I want Autumn to talk to Kourtney and ask her if she really love’s Kendal because if you ask me I think she don’t. Courtney a big hoe and I bet she let the cooks and the house keeper do her while she’s supposed to be with Kendal.” 

“Why are you helping us?” Autumn said cutting Cole off. Cole looked at him and said. “Because he deserves everything that’s he get’s” Cole shock his head and ran his hand throw his hair. 

“I hate Kendal as much as you do. You might think that’s not possible but it is. Ever since we were young I never liked him, Kendal always thought just because he was richer or older than me he was better than me. Over the years my hatred just grew and grew leding to me wanting to kill him and trust me once he’s dead I won’t regret it. Not one bite” 

We were all silent for a second before Cole smiled at us and continued with his plan. “Courtney goes to 

‘Arias’ Plaice’ every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday night between 7 & 8. So I got Autumn a uniform and a wig so that she could be one of the waitresses and can probably find out if Kourtney love’s Kendal or not.” 

Cole looked at Autumn when he said this. “To find that out all you have to do is ask the right questions.” 

Autumn knobbed her head in agreement. “Since Kendal hired me as his best man, which honestly was probably really stupid on his half we should kill him right before the wedding. He’s going to be nervous and I’ll go into the woods and help him think things throw. While we’re in the woods you guys sneak up on him and kill him but I’ll tell you guys when to come out. So just wear something that you’ll were to any wedding. Any question?” Cole asked looking in between the both of us.

“Good! I would ask you guy to stay but I got to go to the wedding rehearse.” Cole got off the sofa and walked us to the door. We all got into his car and he drove us to the hotel. “I’ll be here tomorrow to pick you guys up so be ready by noon.” Cole said before driving off. 

Autumn didn’t talk or look at me while we went into the hotel room that was annoying me. “What do you want to do now?” I asked her. She turned around to face me and shrugged her shoulders. 

“I think I’m going to sleep, I feel drained out.” She said going into the bathroom and coming out in shorts and the tang top.. By the time she came out the bathroom I was already changed into shorts and a white beater.  

“What are you doing?” she asked me. “I’m going to sleep with you.” Moving closer to her I wrapped my arms around her, loving her close to me. 

“You don’t have to go to sleep just because I’m going to sleep. Go do something fun, like go swim in the pool or go to the arcade.” She shrugged.

“I’m fine, now let’s go to sleep.” I said leading her over to the bed and making her get in before I got in after her. I snuggled close to her and she didn’t pull away. Instead she buried her face into side of my neck. Slowly her breathing started evening out and her eyes closed.

“Nathan.” She said softly opening her eyes a little bit to look at me.

“Yeah?” I asked her rubbing small circle on her back.

“Everything at the end of that letter was true.” She said before closing her eyes and falling to sleep. 

I smiled at her sleeping face even though she couldn’t see me, she really did love. Now all I have to do is tell her that I love her as more than friends too, but this time around in a more controlled way. Then I’ll tell her that she’s my mate.

I kissed her forehead before slowly falling into a deep sleep. Today was a long day….
