Nathans' P.O.V.

“Well, I have some good new for you guys.” the nurse said coming into the room with the clip board under her arm. She was making sure she had all of our attention. “She heeling quicker than we thought and we have a good feeling she‘s gonna make it. We even think she going to wake up late today or early tomorrow if she allow herself to.”

Everyone had a smile on their face as they began to cheer but the late thing she side really bugged me. If she allowed herself to wake up. “What do you mean by ‘if she allow herself to?” I asked and my question made everyone silent as we waited for an answer. The nurses smile faded to.

“The only how she’s going to wake up is if she wants to and if she tries. We have no control over that at all.” she paused as a small smile came back to her face. “But I’m sure she will make it. She’s been a strong solider since she got here and she’s still fighting. She very usually in a good way, since most people would of die from a attract like that. Just look at her. Some of her burse are starting to fad.” the nurse said pointing to her and she was right. The burse that was on her cheek were beginning to turn back to it originally color. Same with the burse on her arms.

“Visiting hours are going to be over in almost three hours. But we’re will to make an exception that one of you could spend the night here with her.” she said before she left the same way she came in.

“I vote for Nathan to stay here over night with her.” India said as soon as the nurse was gone. “Me too” Seth said agreeing with her. “Yeah, I think that’ll be a good idea.” their mom added as his dad just nodded his head.

“Don’t I get a say in this.” I said with a smile on my face. I was actually happy that they wanted me to stay with her over night.

“Nope, the people have spoken and it’s already settled.” India said.

“He know he’s happy he get’s to stay with her.” Seth said with a smirk on his face.

“Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I not want to be close to the most prettiest girl ever.” Seth glared at me.

“Don’t push it bro.” he said before laughing.

Three hours passed by and with in those hours India, her mom and dad slowly disappeared. The last one’s left were me and Seth.

“Well I’ll see you in the morning bro. If you need me don’t hesitate to call.” he said. He go up from the chair he was sitting in and went over to his sister kissing her cheek gently. He walked to the door and then opened it but didn’t leave.

“When are you gonna tell her?” he said looking back at me with a sleepily smile.

“When am I going to tell her what?”

“That she’s your mate.”

I thought that I was going to tell her after she admit she has feeling for me but now I’m having second thoughts. Maybe I should just tell her when she wakes up or a little bit after. “Honestly I don’t know.” I said truthfully. “I don’t think I’m going to tell her right when she wake up. I don’t wanna stress her out.”

“That’s probably a good idea not to tell her right when she wakes up. But tell her soon.” pause. “I know she really likes you and the longer you wait to tell her the more hurt she getting thinking that you are only looking for your mate and no one else. When the truth is you guys where meant to be together.”

Seth sat back down closing the door. I stayed silent.

“What happened the night before the accident?” I asked. “What did you do to make mad at you?”

Seth pause thinking about that night and then signed.

“It started right when she got in the house. I guess I got made because I saw how happy you made her and then I saw the necklace that you gave her.” Seth paused again and pointed to her. The necklace I got her was gone. “I got mad so I said stuff like, ‘boys your age only want one thing.’ But she said that you would never take advantage of her like that. She said you wouldn’t toy with her heart like that.. Then she cried.”

I can’t believe he just told me all of this stuff. “I hope you know I would never take advantage of her like that, I love her to much to do that.”

“Yeah, I know. I was just….I don’t know…”

“It’s ok, it’s all in the past now. We just have to worry about now and the future and trust me someone going to pay dearly for all the pain they made her go through.” Seth nobbed his head in agreement. “ Well, I should go before the nurse come back and tell me once again I have to go. I’ll see you in the morning bro.”

But he stopped again. “ I’m surprise that you’ve been able to control yourself around her for this long but I’m sure pretty soon that gonna change.” I looked at him confused, what was he talking about. “Your going to lose it meaning, fall into lust for her. That’s the reason why lots of people mate around this age. But even though I don’t like thinking about you guys having sex. I know it’s going to happen sooner or later and I’m always here if you need me.” She said looking at me sleeplishly.

“Thanks Seth I appeciate it.” I told him and he just smiled at me.

“ Bye Nathan, take care of my little sister.” Seth said.

“Bye, Seth.” I said before he left the room closing the door behind him. Now it was just me and her. I was sitting on her bed side closet to her holding her small hand in mine. Rubbing circles on the back of her hand. I missed her.

I missed the way she smile. I missed the way she talked. I missed the was she laughed. I missed the way she blushed when she was embarrassed. I missed the way she would trace the lines on people hands when she was board. I just missed everything about her.

When she wakes up I’m just going to show her how much I love her. Let’s just hope she feels the same way too. I hope Seth and India are right about this.

I pulled the list she gave me out my pocket and saw that I had one more thing on the list it said:

10. Remember when we had that big water balloon fight at the park right after school on the Friday before memorially brake. It was fun but the only part was that I was wearing a white shirt when you throw one at me. That was embarrassing but we had fun. That’s a day I will never forget.

Flash back:

Nathan, Greg and Rodney were cutting their 9th period class that day since it was the day before memorial break. They weren’t the only one’s cutting, most of the football team and some other kids were cutting. Nathan back pack was filled with water balloons and so were everyone else’s. the plan was to start booming people once they got out the school and then continue it at the pack across the street.

The bell rang signaling the end of end of the school day and that’s when Nathan was waiting for Autumn to come out the school with a water balloon behind his back. A few minutes passed and kids where walking out the school building. Kids were throwing water balloon and getting soaked from head to toes.

That’s when Nathan spotted Autumn. She was walking off to the side trying not to get caught up with all the water. But little did she know that she was being targeted. Nathan throw the water balloon and it hit her back. Autumn screamed as she turned around and saw Nathan laughing at her.

“That’s not funny Nathan!” she yelled as he started running away from her and she ran after him. Nathan ran all the way to the park with Autumn following closely behind him.

But soon everyone one was at the park throwing water balloons at each other and laughing. Autumn was laughing and having fun to but she didn’t noticed what happen to her shirt. Her white shirt was sticking to her body and turning clear. Making it easy for anyone to see her black laced bra.

She quickly put her hands up to cover her bra but that didn’t work. She was looking for Nathan and finally found him throwing water balloons with Greg.

“Nathan” Autumn spoke and once he hear her voice he looked down at her and smiled. He didn’t notice her shirt since her arms were mostly covering the problem.

“What wrong?” he asked her.

“Give me your shirt.” she said looking around to see if anyone was looking at her.

“Why?”

“Just give me you shirt.” she repeated but said it more firmly this time.

Nathan took off his shirt and gave her it. When Autumn moved her hands to quickly put he shirt on Nathan noticed what was wrong and begun to laugh. Autumn rolled her eyes at him before turning around and walking away. She started to blush but she didn’t notice that Nathan was right next to her.

“Nice bra.” he said once they were out of ear shot of everyone else. Autumn jumped surprised to see him walking right beside her. This time when she blushed her cheeks turned bright red.

“Shut up! If you were a girl you’ll know how I feel. That was embarrassing. I’m lucky I notice it before anyone else did.” Autumn was trying not to look at him as they walked towards their house side by side.

“I guess I don’t even get a thank you?”

“For what?”

“For letting you wear my shirt to cover up your womanly body parts.” Nathan said as Autumn punched him in his arm.

“Shut up! I’m embarrassed already you don’t have to keep adding onto my embarassment.” Autumn said.

“Well no one told you to get in the middle of a water balloon fight.” Nathan said smiling at her.

“You’re the one that throw the first water balloon at me! I couldn’t help it. I forgot I was wearing a white shirt”

They fell in a comfortable silence, either one of them saying anything to each other.

Autumn was to busying thinking about how cute and charming Nathan was. She was thinking about what they would look like together as mates, but deep down inside she knew that would never happen. She knew It would never happen which saddens her.

Nathan on the other hand was thinking about how hot she looked in his shirt and she short shorts. He was starring at her body up and down but she didn’t noticed , she was off in another world. Nathan couldn’t wait until the day he claimed her his mate forever. ’She make a prefect wife and mother.’ he thought to himself.

They finally came in front of Autumn house and saw her mother out in the garben.

“Hi mom” Autumn said going up to her and kissing her on the cheek and Nathan followed closely behind. “Hello, Mrs. Haze” Nathan said kissing her on the cheek.

“Hello Nathan.” she said smiling at him and then heading inside. “Hey Nathan you want to stay for dinner tonight?” Mrs. Haze yelled from the side door.

“Yeah, sure.” he yelled back and followed Autumn inside and upstairs to her room.When they got to her room Autumn opened the door to see her brother sitting on her bed smiling right that her.

“Seth your home!” she yelled and ran to him. He got up off the bed and hugged her back. “When did you come?”

“I came a couple of hours ago I just wanted to surprise you and India.” Seth said. Seth didn’t notice Nathan yet but it wasn’t long before he did.

“What’s he doing here?” he asked looking over Autumn and straight at Nathan. “And why are you wearing his shrit?” Autumn looked down and remembered she was wearing his shirt. “Oh, I got my shirt wet so I’m broughing his.” she said before Seth could say anything to Nathan.

“I better go unpack.” Seth said relicing her from their hug but never taking his eye away from Nathan. He left the room bumping shoulder with Nathan and glaring at him. When Seth was gone Autumn closed the door and Nathan sat on her bed.

“Sorry about that.” Autumn apologized. She knew that Nathan and Seth didn’t get along. She just didn’t know why. She would never had Nathan come over if she knew Seth was there.

“It’s fine Cupcake.” Nathan said before Autumn went in the bathroom she shared with India and changed into something dry.

For the next hour they stayed up in Autumn room until they went down stair to have a very awkward dinner with Nathan and Seth sitting side by side.

End of flashback:

Thinking about that made Nathan laugh a little. That happen just last year when Seth came home from college. The whole dinner was spent with Seth glaring at me and me trying not to look at him. It was probably a bad idea to make Seth sit next to me. Matter of fact make us sit in the same room.

Before I could put the letter back into my pocket I notice there was something written on the back side. That’s what India and Seth keep looking at but I never noticed it until now. Flipping over the letter there was something written on the back.

Dear Nathan,

I guess these are my last words and I mean every words that I write in this note. Well first I should probably admit that I had this huge crush on you since we meet and from that day on I always liked you. I never admitted it to you because I knew that you were looking for your mate, I knew you only wanted you mate so I tried convincing myself that I didn’t like you.

No matter how hard I tried convincing myself, I would always find myself liking you all over again. When I said I loved you for all those years I meant it beyond the meaning of friends. You would make my heart race and make me happy every time I saw you. But I always knew I was giving my hopes up.

Well anyways this is the end and I want you to do me a favor. I want you to live you life to the fullest and have fun. Don’t weep over me. I hope you find your mate and I hope she’s everything that you want and deserve. And don’t forget I will always love you.

I smile down at the letter then looked over at the girl that I love. No words could describe what I was feeling right now.

She love me… She really does love me… when she wake up she’s going probably beat herself up for writing this letter but I’m glad she did. When she wake up I’m going to make sure she knows that I true love her the same way she loves me.

Hopefully I don’t lose control and do something she don’t like. I rest my head on the hands and inhaled her scent as my eyes slowly closed.

Autumn’s P.O.V.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the room I was in. I knew instantly I was in a hospital by the scent. But I couldn’t remember why…….then it hit me. Kendal.

I tried sitting up but instantly found that I couldn’t. I felt weak and drained of energy. I looked down at my hand and smiled. He looked so cute when he was smile. His brown hair was all messed up and his lips were slightly ajar. With out thinking I lifted my arm and started running my finger throw his hair. He groaned a little and smiled but he didn’t wake up. He just moved closer into him hand.

“Aw, how cute. You know your boyfriend have been here all night with you?” a nurse said from the doorway. I looked over at he and smiled. “He’s not my boyfriend. He’s just a friend.” I told her looking back at Nathan.

“Well he should be, he’s just to cute for some lousy tramp to have him.” she said walking into the room and taking the clipboard from off the edge of the bed. “So how are you feeling Autumn?” she asked sitting on the opposite side of the bed as Nathan and looking me over.

“ I feel sore and broken” I told her honestly. She just laughed a little and wrote something down on her clipboard. “Your going to feel like that for a while but we’ll give you some pain meds to help you.”

I managed to give her a small smile and looked back down at Nathan. Running my hand throw his hair, I had to resist reaching down and running my fingers on his lips. Instead of doing that I ran my finger down to his cheeks and keep them there.

“You like him?” the nurse asked. I almost forgot that she was there and to answer her question I said. “Of course I like him. He’s my best friend.” I said softly.

She chuckled and shook her head. “ You know what I mean. I mean as more then friends.” I didn’t know if I should answer her or not. I mean I just meet her and all but she seemed nice and what are the odds that I will ever run into her ever again. I smiled a little and nobbed my head.

“Well here’s some advice, go for it.” she said winking and popping her head back into the room adding. “Happy birthday!”

“Happy birthday? Wait how long have I’ve been out for? She was already long gone before I could ask her and I just shrugged.

Time slowly passed by and I was getting bored. I wanted to get out this hospital bed and moving around. It feel like I haven’t moved in ages and it’s driving me crazy. A sigh left Nathan’s lips and slowly his eyes opened and starred at me. I smiled down at him before he blinked twice and rubbed his eyes a little.

“Your up.” he said sheepishly. I nobbed and smile.

“Missed me?” I asked joking around, I really didn’t expect him to actually answer.

“I missed you a lot, Cupcake.” he said grabbing my hand and holding it with his. Even though I could barely feel anything I felt small sparks that ran up and fingers.

When he sat up I notice a sheet of paper with writing on his. Looking closely at it, it kinda looked like my hand writing. Wait… Shit! Nathan followed my gaze until it landed on the letter that I wrote him. He smiled and folded it before he put it in his pocket. ‘ Please tell me he didn’t read the back side!’ I begged.

“ Can I see that?” I asked motioning to his pocket. He took the letter out his pocket and handed it to me. ‘Did you finish reading it?” I asked.

“No, I just have to read the back.” he said with a smile on his face. ‘Thank God!’ “Can I have it back?” he asked when he notice I wasn’t going to give I back to him.

“No” I said quickly.

“Why?” he said confussed and I just shook my head. “No reason.” I said looking away from him.

“Cupcake, you know I really did read the back?” he asked pulling my hand into his.

What do I do. Is he lying! I boaut he’s lying all that was felt in his tone was seriousness. “look at me.” he said softly but I didn’t. I don’t know how I can face him now that he knows. “Cupcake” he said. When I didn’t listen to him he sighed deeply. “Autumn, look at me, please.” he said boldly

I looked over at him but quickly looked down. He pushed my chin up so that I was looking him directly in the eyes. “ We’re going to talk about it.” he said and that’s when I couldn’t be any glader that have India as a sister.

“Happy birthday, Autumn!” she yelled bursting into my room with balloons and Seth following behind her. She looked from me to Nathan and then back again. “It looks like I just interrupted something.”

“No, no, no! you didn’t interrupt anything.” I said with a smile my face. Nathan smile before dropping his hand away from my face.

“Happy birthday, Sis” Seth said walking over to my bed side and kissing my cheek. “Thanks Seth” I said

“Autumn, your awake! You had me worried for a second.’ my mom said walking over to me and giving me a hug making sure not to squeeze me to tight. “Happy birthday!” she squealed.

“This is probably going to be one you of worse birthdays ever.’ my dad said walking into the room and then walking over to me. ‘But I’m glad your awake. Did Nathan take go care of you?’ he asked giving Nathan a side glance.

“I sure did.” he said proudly. Leaning back in his chair.

“Well, I hope so. If you didn’t you’ll probably be killed.” India said coming over to my bed side and sitting on the bed. “ I’m pretty sure her birthday is crappy enough as it is, having you die would probably make her go suicidal.”

“I don’t think her birthday is going to be all that crappy after all.” Dad said. “ Once they are done checking over her they said she could leave but she’s still going to have a spirant wrist and ankle, two broken ribs and a few bruses.”

“Thanks dad for making me feel a whole lot better.” I said rolling my eyes at him. He just laughed and wrapped his arms around my mother. “You know I didn’t mean to make it sound bad right?” he asked

“Yeah, sure you did.”

“ I think I’m going to head home and change.” Nathan said standing up.

“Yeah, I think you should, you look like a mess bro.” Seth side patting Nathan on the back? “Yeah but I still look guy.” Nathan side smiling at me and I quickly looked away from him to look at Seth.

“What am I missing here?” I asked pointing between the two of them. They look at one anthers and looked at me confused. “That’s the same thing I was asking myself sis. They just magically became friends.” India said shacking her head at him.

“It’s strange how this world works.” she muttered under he breathe.

“Well, I’ll be back.” Nathan said walking to the other side of the bed and the leaned down and kissed my cheek before whispering “ We’re not done talking about it, Autumn”. he stood up smiled at me then left the room with out saying another word. Everyone was smiling at me as a blush made it’s way onto my face. I can’t believe he just did that!

Nathan’s P.OV.

Going home I couldn’t help but touch my lips. I wanted her skin against my lips again. I wonder how it’ll feel to touch her lips with mine. Are they as soft as her skin, but will she let me kiss her? Honestly her kissing me are the least of my worries. I wanna ask her who did this to her but I don’t think she’s going to be comfortable with talking about it.

Pulling into the garage, I got out the car and sprinted inside. I wanted to hurry and take a shower and then get back to the hospital to see her again. I took a shower brushed my teeth and then got changed, I went down stair into the kitchen to see Kassie eating a bowl of cereal.

“I thought you were at the hospital?” she said looking up at me. “I was, I came home to change.” I said grabbing myself a bowl of cereal and sitting next to her. I quickly stuff cereal in my mouth and put the bowl in the sink.

“So what’s new?” she said pushing her bowl to the side.

“She woke up and I’m going back to the hospital. They side once she was done with her cheek up she can go home.” I told her from over my shoulder.

“So your leaving me home only?” she asked sounding a little sad. “ I wish I knew who my mate was so I can run away with him and have fun instead of staying home alone and bored.” she said dropping her head down on the counter.

Sometimes I felt bad for Kassie because deicide Jackie she was the only one in the family that didn’t know who her mate was. “ Where is everyone ?” I asked her but she just shook her head. “ Mom and dad are on there honeymoon, Jackie went over to his friends house, Marius went to Connecticut to visit Hailey‘s parents with her and I‘m home all alone.” she said.

“You wanna come to the hospital with me?” I asked her but she just shook her head. “I don’t wanna take up space. What time is Autumn going home?” she asked.

“ I don’t know.” she nodded and looked over at the clock. “ Just tell India to call me.” she said before getting up and going upstairs. Surprisingly she didn’t ask any question about me and Autumn and that was surprising. I think not having a mate is taking a toile on her.

I hurried out the house and started my car, driving back to the hospital.
