It was already late afternoon.
Ashley increased her pace of paddling the bicycle as she wanted to reach home before twilight.

She spent her day in the city library and paid a little visit to her hospital. The director told her to join the work a week later.

She had some books and some groceries in her carrier.
She promised the children to bake cookies for them the next time she pays a visit to The clouds.
She has been pretty busy trying gardening in her yard.
The cottage was quite old and surrounded by enough trees and lake Tekapo behind. It was already beautiful but she wanted to make an actual garden this time. She didn't have enough time before to do that.

She was thinking about completing her doctorate but couldn't decide where she should apply. Any university would love to accept her application around the world but she was confused.

The weather was calm as well.
A mild breeze was blowing ruffling her hairs around. The setting sun behind the mountains was coloring the whole sky in shades of orange and red with strokes of purple. The surface of the lake was coated with the tints of gold and orange hues of the sun.

She got down from the bike as she was near her cottage. She was walking along the driveway pulling the bike beside her, thanking the person who planted poinciana and jacaranda on both sides of the road.
The red and purple carpet covering the road with fallen petals always made her feel like walking into heaven.

She made wooden stairs behind her backyard descended up to the water surface of Lake Tekapo a few days ago. She was thinking of making a small gazebo for a painting studio there from where she can see the vast horizon across the blue lake with snowy mountains and clear blue sky.
It was time she makes her place a little more peaceful.

She parked her bike as soon as she saw someone sitting on the stairs of the front porch. Who's that?

The person approached coming out of the shade seeing her stop.

" T...Tae?" she couldn't speak properly.

"Looks like you are using my teaching perfectly!" seeing the bike Taehyung smiled shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Tae?" Ashley was still surprised.

"How have you been, Ash?" smiled Taehyung.

"H..how!???" she could utter just this much.

Taehyung shrugged playfully. " I missed you. Thats how."

"I don't understand!" Ashley still couldn't process what happened.

"Am I welcomed?" Taehyung smiled.

"Oh God!" this time Ashley released her hands from the bike and covered her face with them, "I can't believe it!"

"Me neither." Taehyung laughed, "Yet here I am!"

Ashley looked at him smiling like the morning sun and she wrapped her hands around Taehyung as he pulled her in a hug. Taehyung smiled in the hug.

"I know, I know, you missed me," Taehyung teased her as he patted the back of her shoulder.

"I am not gonna even ask how did you find me," Ashley mumbled and released him, "Come on in."

Ashley opened the front door and Taehyung unloaded the groceries from the carrier and went in.

"You have found your sanctuary I  see," Taehyung complemented looking around. "It's a very beautiful place. I wish I can finally settle down somewhere like here."

Ashley was emptying the grocery bag, "When you retire?"

"Right," he nodded.

"You never told me you are a member of BTS?" Ashley said lightly while arranging things in the Fridge.

Taehyung chuckled, "You never told me your middle name was Charlotte!"

"Those are completely different things!" Ashley protested.

"I know," Taehyung smiled leaning on the kitchen counter.

"But I understand why you didn't tell me that." Ashley smiled.

"About that time of you being in Korea..." Taehyung hesitantly started.

"Don't worry. I don't blame you," Ashley cut him off, "Well I sort of did, at first. But then my consulate called me, apologized for the misunderstanding, and bla bla bla..."
She chuckled, "I cursed at you guys so bad that I feel embarrassed now. But what could I do? That guy was literally accusing me of harassment!"

"Can I hear some of them now?" Taehyung smiled back.

"I left one for those BTS jackasses, didn't you hear?"

Taehyung laughed loudly, "you bet I  did. Message received, loud and clear."

"The bright side, I fell in love with BTS. I am a fan now you see."
She approached Taehyung with two mugs of coffee which she poured from the coffee machine just now.

She handed him one mug and exclaimed in frustration the next moment, "Why am I even offering you coffee? You gave me a really hard time with that voice of yours!!"

"Did you cried?" Taehyung teased,
"Like that night  we went out for a walk?"

"So what if I cried?" Ashley rolled her eyes.

Taehyung took the mug from her and held her hand slightly, "I really wanted to see you again. When I lost you that day again, I was devastated in guilt. I missed you Ash." his voice was soft yet somber.

"I am sorry I ran away." Ashley tried to smile.
They both were quiet for some time.

"So, why are you here, Tae?" Ashley finally decided to break the silence.

"The world tour is next year, finished with the promotions for last come back and music shows. So having a small-time off," Taehyung shrugged.

"Where are you staying?"

"A hotel in the city." He looked around and suddenly smiled remembering something, "heard you got suspended?"

Ashley laughed, "That's a funny story."

Taehyung sat in front of her on the couch, "I have plenty of time. "

Ashley told him the full story, half of the time dying laughing and half of the time trying to remember exactly what happened.

"There was the patient with a hole in his temple and you are laughing here remembering that?" Taehyung was done. "Is it funny?"

"No...I am laughing thinking of the director's face when he was being poked by Dr. Cameron."

"Who is he?" Taehyung fake frowned at her.

"He is a funny dude. But how did you know about my suspension?"

"I have my ways." Taehyung raised his brows, "I have my  holmless network."

"Awwe....now I am scared," Ashley said sarcastically. "Are you hungry? "

"Yes, I am."

Ashley liked his easy confession.
"I was going to cook dinner for me. Stay for dinner. I can make something for you too."

"Invitation accepted," Taehyung closed his eyes.

Ashley was about to leave for the kitchen when he again called her, "Ash?"

"Yeah?"

"I missed you."

"You already said it many times," Ashley smiled at him.

"It wouldn't be enough even I say it more."

Ashley smiled and went into the kitchen.
Taehyung sighed and closed his eyes trying to soothe his racing heartbeat along with the aching pain in it.
Can he ever tell this girl about this?
