After unpacking Mary makes her way onto the spring bed. She turned her pale lifeless face to her left, looking out on the city below.

Looking through her tired dark grey eyes she glared at the bustling crowd below.

"So happy" she scoffed and looked away. "How are they so happy? What's wrong with me?" She muttered to herself under her breathe.

She put her hands on her forehead and then back through her hair, pulling out a little chunk of it.
"Ouch" she silently cursed under her breathe closing one eye at the sudden pain she felt. She stares at her pale boney hands clenching tightly at her dark brown, unwashed hair.

She carefully stood up and walked out of her room; walked  through the dimly lit hallways and towards the bathroom. She threw her chunk of hair in the bin and washed her tired face, not realising she did so with boiling water, when the pain kicked in she shut her eyes and silently cursed under her breathe.

When the pain passed  she sat on the toilet lid; stared up at the ceiling blankly and questioned silently to herself.
"what's wrong with me?"
"Am I broke ?"
"Mum is right, I am not perfect"
She carried on staring at the ceiling whilst a small tear formed in her eyes and slowly ran down her boney cheek.
