REBEKAH WAS THE first one to act on the event of Melody's absence. Klaus was too busy with Hope and Hayley. Elijah had suggested to his younger sister that she should check up on her. they had all seen her post which was later deleted as the brunette didn't want to seem like she was searching for attention. And plus the flow of texts she got from everyone was irritating her. Following the day her dark magic came back, she never once appeared from her bedroom. The next day arrived and it was beginning to become worrisome to everyone.

The blonde knocked on her door, standing there with her hands at her sides. "Melody? Are you there?" No answer. A heartbeat. She sighed. "Look, I know you think blocking yourself off is going to make it go away but it won't. Why don't we eat breakfast and then we can talk about it?" There was still no reply.

And she quickly became agitated so she opens the door and steps inside. Melody was laying on her side, facing away from the door. She still wore her pajamas, the covers up to her chest, lying awake yet she didn't speak. Rebekah walked over to her and then removed her shoes, laying down next to her. "Melody? You didn't have breakfast this morning with us." Nothing. "Come on, you can't just ignore me forever." Still nothing. "I'm not leaving until you talk."

"I'm fine," the fairytale woman replied. "There, I said something. Now leave."

Rebekah pretended to think for a moment before she hummed to herself, shaking her head. "Changed my mind, I'm not leaving." Then she moved closer, supporting her head on her hand as she took her free hand, placing it on Melody's arm.

Instantly the female stiffened, not because she didn't like it, because she did like it, but because the second the Original touched her skin, her dark magic faltered. Rebekah took it the negative way, letting her go. "Sorry." She blushed in embarrassment for having made her feel uncomfortable. "I'll leave you alone then."

She stood up, but before she could get off the bed, Melody sat up and grabbed her arm. Rebekah turned her head to look at her with a puzzling expression, only to find the brunette with a shocked expression. "My dark magic. . .it's fading." Her words were quiet, laying down on her back.

Without hesitation, the blonde followed her movements, lying beside her on her back but slightly perched on her side so she was almost hovering over Melody. She didn't speak because she knew what the younger woman was asking for. And so she provided, taking both of her hands and pressed it into her palms. Their fingers laced together. Everything went quiet.

Melody's stomach rumbled, making them both break out into waves of laughter, Rebekah falling halfway onto the brunette underneath her. Once they settled down, they became quiet once more. But what was interesting about this wasn't that the supposed lost girl had opened her heart for the blonde.

It was that their hands never broke apart while they laughed.
