❝ where is my party niklaus? ❞

HER WORDS HAD gone ignored it seemed as Melody exited her car, slamming the door closed. The brunette had only one of her bags in her hands, deciding that she would force Klaus to take the rest. She looked around her to see tourists walking around, exploring the city. Yes the city was undeniably amazing and she withheld the urge to go on her own to venture, but there was one very crucial aspect missing from her arrival.

The only thing that could be heard in the compound was the sound of boots tapping against the ground and then an enraged yell. "Where the hell is my party?!" Everything went silent after that while she tapped her foot impatiently with her arms crossed over her chest. The first person to appear was Elijah, smiling widely at the sight of her but minded his distance.

"Melody, it's a pleasure seeing you again."

She narrowed her eyes at him and didn't say anything for a moment. Then she looked past him, up the stairs. "Is Klaus here?" Her voice was low and chilling, all because she didn't get a welcome party like she asked for. It actually kinda upset her that there was no one here to greet her after all of those hours she drove just so she could help her best friend with his daughter.

An unfamiliar girl appeared, drawing her attention to her. Melody arched an eyebrow, confused before she realized who it was. "You must be Hayley." She stepped forward and smiled at her, sticking her hand out. "I'm Melody Mills, the woman that everyone wants but can't have."

Hayley smiled back and laughed, shaking her hand. "It's nice to meet you, Melody."

Then the person she had been expecting finally arrived, peering over the railing. He smirked at her. "Well, well, well, looks like you got here in one piece." He began to make his way down the stairs and Melody handed her bag to Hayley, glaring at him. "What a shame."

Melody stared at him evenly. "Where is my party Niklaus?"

They moved to stand in front of each other, nearly nose to nose. He glared back at her, scoffing slightly, throwing one of his hands up. "Oh my apologies, did you expect one?"

She smiled sweetly. "That was the idea, yes. But I shouldn't expect anything from you anyways." She shrugged her shoulders, not moving her eyes from him. "You never did appreciate me."

A long stretch of silence followed as the two merely stared at one another, scowling equally until one of them broke. Hayley went over to Elijah, watching nervously. Elijah was amused though, grinning from ear to ear. Klaus finally sighed, shaking his head. "That one hit home."

"Too bad it didn't slap you in the face." More silence. More glaring. Klaus was the first to break, laughing as he smiled, looking down at his feet because he couldn't continue the act anymore. Melody smiled too, laughing with a shake of her head. "You idiot! You couldn't even keep it up for five minutes?" She slapped his arm playfully, still laughing.

Hayley exhaled when she realized that the two were just playing around. Elijah was chuckling beside her, leaning close to her ear so he could explain. "They do this quite often." She nodded with a hum, understanding. But it was odd seeing the hybrid smile.

The two eventually calmed down and then Melody quickly became serious. "Okay but seriously where is my party?" Klaus sobered up fast and was at loss for words. She knew his look, raising an eyebrow. "You didn't get me anything did you?" His eyes widened and before he even got a word out, she snapped his neck by flicking her wrist.

Elijah chuckled again while Hayley gaped in shock. Melody shook her head at the fallen Original, tsking. "Now that I have taken care of him..." she trailed off, spinning around to look at them. "Please tell me, I at least got a cake or something." He made a face and she sighed, shaking her head. "You are utterly useless."

"I will have a cake made if it makes you feel better?" He offered, amused.

She scoffed at him and then turned away, shooing him. "Whatever. Now go get my bags, your brother is a bit dead at the moment." Hayley attempted to hide a smile as Elijah sighed, walking to the entrance to her car. Melody turned back to her and then smirked when she saw her expression. Then she linked their arms together. "Where is this daughter of yours that I came here to see?"

Unbeknownst to her, Rebekah had appeared from her bedroom, watching with a fond smile when she saw the bruentte, noticing her haircut, thinking that it suited her. She felt her smile fall, shaking her head as she retreated to her bedroom again.

"She'll never love me."
