MELODY REFUSED TO rest until she found Rebekah, going to every single place she knew in New Orleans before she got fed up with searching the human way and did a locator spell. She ended up walking to the other side of the city, coming to the park where they had taken Hope, the place where she admitted to the blonde that she considered herself bisexual and told her about her first relationship. And sure enough, she went straight to the bench they had sat on and found her there, staring at the stars because it was night.
The brunette sat beside her, crossing her legs. Rebekah got up to leave but then Melody rose her hand, flicking three fingers back towards the bench, using her magic to make her sit back down. When she did that, the Original glanced over at her, trying to get up again but realized that she couldn't. Her jaw clenched and she looked away, not appreciating the gesture.
"Did you seriously think I was going to let you get up and walk away after I spent hours of searching for you in heels? Yeah, that's right, I walked, didn't take my car or hitch a ride. I walked here."
"And why would you do that?" Rebekah questioned with a scoff, not looking over at her as she sat with her back straight, staring ahead at the playground that was empty, void of any kids due to the time.
Melody shrugged her shoulders, making a low humming sound. "Because I wanted you to carry me back and massage my feet." The other female finally turned to look at her, raising an eyebrow, clearly trying not to laugh and was trying hard, but not hard enough. "What? You won't carry your queen?"
"I thought I was the queen."
"Changed my mind."
Rebekah smiled despite the situation, looking at her clasped hands, noticing how royal-like Melody's posture was sometimes which made her a tad bit amused, turning her head to hide so. A moment of silence passed between the two before the younger of the two sighed, speaking up again. "What's going on? Look, if someone hurt you I'll make sure they regret it, I swear. No one hurts the people I care about."
Lying was not something she wanted to do, yet she didn't believe that there was another option. "Marcel, he's dating that bartender Camille, completely left me hanging yesterday." Melody didn't say anything, nothing at all. Because she sensed the weak lie immediately and now she felt as if the person who was hurting Rebekah was herself, why else wouldn't she tell her?
And so she let her leave, flicking her fingers again before listening as Rebekah stood up and then walked away at a human pace. When she was gone, a lone tear slipped down her cheek but she didn't go after her, didn't yell for her to come back, didn't do anything but sit there and stare.
She wasn't giving up.
