THE CAFE WASN'T too busy thankfully. It was passed rush hour so everyone was at work, well, the humans were at least. Melody arrived fifteen minutes earlier to ensure that she would be there before Rebekah would be, wanting to set a good impression. Her phone was blowing up with texts from her family, freaking out because they had all figured out that she was going on a date. Mary Margaret especially wanted all the dirty details, ever the gossiper of StoryBrooke. And she could never keep a secret, that much was blatantly obvious. So she put her phone on 'do not disturb' to make sure no one bothered her.
Oddly enough, when she entered the cafe, there Rebekah was, in a corner booth, her legs crossed, biting her lip. Melody rose a brow as she got closer, reaching the table. "I thought I told you ten o'clock?" The blonde looked over and then quickly looked away, clearly embarrassed. "How long have you been waiting here?"
"Since nine. . ."
"Rebekah!" she exclaimed, appalled. The brunette slid into the seat across from her, tilting her head to the side a bit, trying to figure out why she would show up so early. "Why? Is something wrong?"
"No, no, no, nothing's wrong." Rebekah waved her hand, dismissing the idea. Slowly, she made eye contact with her, realizing that the female had streaks of blonde in her hair, probably leftover from highlights. "I just got nervous and showed up here sooner, hoping that it would ease my anixety. . .and saying that out loud just made me realize how stupid it sounds."
Melody shook her head, reaching across the table and placed a gentle hand over her clasped ones. "It's not stupid at all, Bekah. I'm sorry that I made you feel like that. But, there's no need to fear anything, because I won't judge you if that's what you're afraid of. Just be yourself." She smiled and then took her hand back. "Now, let's get some coffee yeah?"
The date flew by faster than she wanted it to, and by the looks of it, Rebekah was enjoying herself. The blonde was relaxed, calm compared to when they first started talking, their mugs of coffee in front of them. Melody found herself forgetting everything around them as they talked, laughing with her, smiling more than she's ever had.
They left two hours later, going to the park and walked together with their to-go mugs, talking about anything and everything under the sun. By the time they fell into silence, they realized that it was close to one in the afternoon. They retreated back to the compound, both feeling and looking happy. Truly happy.
Melody stopped in front of the door to her room, turning her head and looked at Rebekah with a different expression than she had before she asked the female out. Without giving her time to find out what she was about to do, the brunette captured the blonde in a hug but placed her lips on hers. Almost instantly the girl kissed back. They moved their lips slowly, soaking in the way the other felt.
Together they pulled back, both blushing madly before erupting into laughs. Melody leaned into her, cheeks glowing crimson. She let her go, looking at her, licking her bottom lip. "I hope this was a good first date."
"It was the best date I've ever had," Rebekah beamed, looking content. "I would love to do something like that some other time. If you're up for it?"
"I would love that." She opened her door and walked inside, looking to the blonde. "See you later." She threw one of her signature winks before closing the door behind her. Once she heard the sound of shoes retreating, she jumped up and cheered silently.
Oh just wait until her dad found out.
