A Royal Archer
Y/N walked through the castle gardens, surrounded by her closest friends, Lady Sophia and Lady Emma. They were laughing and chatting, enjoying the warm sunshine and the beauty of nature.
As they strolled, they stumbled upon a small, hidden pond. Y/N, being the adventurous one, suggested they skip stones across the water. Her friends eagerly agreed, and they spent the next hour skipping stones and watching the ripples spread across the pond.
As they sat on the grassy bank, Lady Sophia turned to Y/N and asked, "What's on your mind, Y/N? You seem a bit distracted lately."
Y/N sighed, looking out at the pond. "I just feel like I'm stuck, you know? I have all these responsibilities, but I don't know if I'm ready for them. And sometimes I just wish my mother was here to guide me."
Lady Emma nodded sympathetically. "We're here for you, Y/N. And your mother may not be here physically, but her spirit lives on through you."
Y/N smiled, feeling grateful for her friends' support. "Thanks, guys. Just talking to you makes me feel better."
As they continued their conversation, Y/N realized that sometimes, all she needed was someone to listen, someone to remind her that she wasn't alone.
As Y/N, Lady Sophia, and Lady Emma walked through the castle, they passed by the bustling kitchen. One of the cooks, a stout woman with a kind face, hailed Y/N. "Y/N, dear, could you do me a favor? I'm slammed with preparations for the upcoming feast, and I need someone to deliver lunch to your father in the archery field. He's been practicing for hours, and I fear he'll forget to eat if we don't send something out to him."
Y/N nodded agreeably. "Of course, I'd be happy to help."
The cook handed Y/N a wicker basket filled with an assortment of sandwiches, fruit, and cheese. "Thank you, dear. Tell your father I sent his favorite - roasted turkey with avocado."
Y/N smiled and took the basket, tucking it into the crook of her arm. "I will, thank you."
As they continued their stroll, Lady Sophia asked, "What's your father practicing for? Is there a tournament coming up?"
Y/N shrugged. "I think he's just trying to keep his skills sharp. He's been spending a lot of time in the archery field lately."
Lady Emma nodded. "I've seen him out there, rain or shine. He's so dedicated."
When they arrived at the archery field, Y/N's father, King Seonjun, was indeed deeply engrossed in his practice. He stood tall, his focus fixed on the target as he drew back the string and released the arrow. It soared through the air, hitting the bullseye with a satisfying thunk.
Y/N and her friends watched in awe as the king shot arrow after arrow, each one finding its mark with precision and skill. Finally, he noticed their presence and approached them, wiping the sweat from his brow.
"Ah, Y/N, thank you for bringing lunch. I'm starving!"
Y/N smiled and handed him the basket. "Cook sent your favorite, Father."
King Seonjun's face lit up as he opened the basket and inhaled the savory aroma of roasted turkey. "Mmm, wonderful. Thank you, dear."
As they sat down on a nearby bench to eat, Lady Sophia asked, "Your Majesty, may I ask, what drives your passion for archery?"
King Seonjun's expression turned contemplative. "For me, archery is more than just a skill or a sport. It's a way to clear my mind, to focus on the present moment. And it reminds me of my wife, Queen Lirien - she was an exceptional archer herself."
Y/N's heart swelled with love and admiration for her father. She knew how much he missed her mother, and it warmed her heart to see him find solace in the things they shared.
Y/N's eyes snapped shut, bracing for the impact. But instead of pain, she felt...nothing. Confused, she opened her eyes to see a young man standing in front of her, his hand grasping the arrow mere inches from her face. Blood trickled from his palm, but his expression remained stoic.
Without thinking, Y/N reached out and grasped his injured hand. "Are you okay?" she asked, her voice trembling.
The young man's gaze slowly lifted, and their eyes met. Y/N's breath caught as she took in his chiseled features, piercing blue eyes, and chiseled jawline. He was stunning.
For a moment, they just stared at each other, hands entwined. Then, the young man seemed to snap out of his trance and tried to pull his hand away. "I...I'm fine," he stammered.
But Y/N held tight. "No, you're not. You're bleeding!"
Their hands remained locked, and Y/N felt a strange jolt of electricity run through her body. She couldn't look away from his eyes, and he seemed equally captivated.
Finally, he spoke, his voice low and husky. "I...I think I'll survive."
Y/N smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Good."
Y/N's father, King Seonjun, stormed towards them, his face red with rage. "Taehyung! How dare you touch my daughter? You know the rules!"
Taehyung, still expressionless, removed his hand from Y/N's grasp and stood at attention. "Sorry, Your Majesty. I didn't mean to overstep."
Y/N stepped forward, trying to defend Taehyung. "Father, it's not his fault! He saved me from an arrow, and his hand is bleeding. That's why I held his hand."
But King Seonjun's anger didn't subside. "Silence, Y/N! You don't know the rules. Taehyung, you're a commander, not some commoner who can touch royalty whenever he pleases."
Taehyung's face remained impassive, but a hint of pain flickered in his eyes as he glanced at his injured hand. Blood dripped onto the ground, but he didn't flinch.
Y/N's heart went out to him, and she tried to reach for his hand again. "Taehyung, let me-"
But he sidestepped her, his expression unchanging. "I'm fine, Princess. Don't worry about me."
King Seonjun's anger finally began to dissipate, replaced by a hint of pride. "Yes, Taehyung is a skilled commander. His hand will heal."
Y/N felt a pang of frustration. "Father, please listen-"
But King Seonjun cut her off. "Y/N, go to your room. And Taehyung, see to your injury. We'll discuss this later."
Y/N nodded reluctantly and turned to leave, but not before catching Taehyung's eye. For a moment, she thought she saw a flicker of warmth there, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
As she walked away, Y/N couldn't shake off the feeling that she'd just witnessed something important - something that could change everything.
