XII ... just like old times

FILES WERE SPREAD ACROSS BELLA'S desk as she completed a batch of paperwork then put it aside to file later. aside from the constant ringing of phones, the only thing heard in bella's office was the soft sound of the radio playing janet jackson's escapade. as she hummed along, she heard a knock on her office door.

"come in, jenna." bella smiled as she signed off some papers, as jenna walked in. "you don't always have to knock, y'know?"

"yeah i know." jenna laughed as she sat down on one of bella's chairs. "so this is what having your own office feels like?"

"my favorite part about having this job; having my own office." bella smiled as she got up from her chair and walked to the filing cabinet, placing a folder inside.

"yeah, you're locked in here every day." jenna chuckled as looked at a photo that adorned bella's desk, both taken by chrissy. one was the picture taken right after graduation and the other was of bella and johnny; both smiling with johnny's arms around bella.

"you about done looking at my pictures, parker?" bella laughed as she sat back down in her chair.

"you two look so cute here." jenna smiled as she placed the framed photo back onto her desk. "speaking of cute, guess who called?"

"i'm guessing jimmy?" bella laughed as she opened up another batch of paperwork. "you think i haven't noticed you stuck to that phone all day, talking to him? i think he likes you."

"he's so sweet, but we've only been on one date." jenna smiled as she played with her watch. "well, tonight would make two."

"he invited you to have dinner with us up in encino, huh?" bella smirked as jenna chuckled. "just a lucky guess?"

"oh you're good." jenna said, getting up from the chair.

"i try." bella smirked. "so, we'll see you there for dinner?"

"i'm nervous about this." jenna nervously laughed. "i mean, we've only been on one date, but i really like him."

"and i'm pretty sure he likes you." bella said as she flipped through the file, double checking it. "you'll be fine, besides you'll love encino."

"and i'll finally get to meet your mother-in-law." jenna smiled as she stood at the doorway.

bella chuckled as she signed off on some more paperwork. "get back to work." she smiled. "we'll see you there at 7:45?"

"you and blondie better not be late." jenna smirked as she opened the door and walked out. "love you hon!"

"your mother is waiting for us." bella softly giggled as she looked up at her watch, then back down to johnny, who lay asleep on her stomach.

"just a few more minutes." johnny groaned as he cuddled closer to the brunette as bella ran her hands through his golden locks, as he groaned in satisfaction. "mmh, that feels nice, keep going."

bella softly laughed as she continued to run her hands through his hair, then moving down and massaging his shoulders. "fuck, princess. that feels even better." johnny groaned.

"rough day?" bella sighed as she attempted to remove the tension spots in his broad shoulders. "you have a lot of tension, just relax."

"i was moving some bags of cement around when i felt it in my back." johnny sighed as he moved his hands up to bella's waist and softly rubbed circles with his thumbs on her hips.

as bella continued to rub his shoulders, the phone began to ring. she attempted to reach for the phone without breaking out of johnny's embrace. "hello?" she answered as she continued to play with johnny's hair. "hi jenna, what's up?"

while bella spoke to jenna, johnny sighed as he softly began to kiss bella's skin. bella bit her lip, trying hard not to giggle. "do you mind?" bella laughed as she covered the phone, to avoid jenna from hearing.

"nope." johnny smiled as he continued to place his lips onto her stomach, trailing kisses to her hipbones. bella giggled and playfully rolled her eyes before placing the phone back onto her ear.

"yeah, there's just one more batch of paperwork that i should be done with by tomorrow, the latest, mond– oh!" bella said, biting her lip.

"everything okay?" jenna said, on the other line.

"yeah, i, um, kinda stubbed my toe on the counter." bella lied as she covered the phone to avoid jenna hearing anything else. johnny had made a couple of marks on her hips as bella smacked his shoulder, as he laughed.

"okay? anyway i'll see you in a few!" jenna giggled.

"alright. i'll see you!" bella said as she hung up the phone, looking down at johnny, who sat up on the couch. "i'm so gonna get you back, lawrence."

"i'd like to see you try, sweetheart."

it was around 9:30 as conversations and laughs filled the living room of the encino residence. the group of friends sat around with drinks as fleetwood mac faintly played on the record player. bella stood up to serve herself more liquor as the guys were reminiscing about their high school days.

"oh i clearly remember that night." laura laughed as she poured herself more wine. "let's face it honey, you were never good at sneaking a girl up to your room."

"wait, i wanna hear this story." jenna laughed.

"one night, summer before college, the girls went to the roller rink and after a while, the guys and i met up with them there; as you know, bella and johnny cannot live without sucking on each other, so, once we arrived, they snuck off to who-knows-where and made out." bobby explained, trying not to laugh.

"after their make-out session, being that they were super horny, they came back to encino. johnny, thinking that both laura and sid weren't home, brought bella inside." chrissy continued the story. "now, sid wasn't home the time, but laura was–"

"and she caught them, mid-foreplay." jimmy laughed. "she didn't mind, but it was a big turn off."

"you guys are something else." jenna rolled her eyes, playfully. "making out at the roller rink?"

"he only went to watch her skate." tommy said as he opened up another bottle of beer. "none of us knew how to skate, but he loved watching bella skate."

"why?" bella laughed. "watching me skate got you in the mood or what?"

"i just liked watching you skate because of the big smile you always had on your face while you sang whatever disco song they were playing." johnny smiled before turning back to the group. "she was the best at roller skating."

"the best." chrissy giggled as she sipped on her wine glass. "i missed this, all of us meeting up here and having dinner."

"we have to make this a thing." jenna smiled. "i really enjoyed tonight. laura, thank you."

"it was my pleasure, honey." laura smiled. "you guys are always welcome here. they're my boys."

"you hear that, johnny?" tommy smirked. "we're her boys."

"watch out, tommy. he's gonna get jealous." bella laughed as she placed her glass down on the table.

"yeah, yeah."
