IT WAS SATURDAY NIGHT ; THE WEEKEND. all the clubs were packed and the streets of los angeles were packed with people circling around the valley. it seemed as if the whole world was out and about, partying. well, not everybody. after yet, another hectic week, bella & johnny decided to stay in, watch a movie, and order a pizza. now that bella was up for a new job position, she tried not to overthink so much and kept herself entertained.

"these fights are crazy." bella chuckled as she took a bite of her slice of pizza. "so the whole point is to knock their opponent out cold? thats how they win?"

"yeah, it's a form of martial arts." johnny said as he opened up another coors banquet. "the only thing with this is it's illegal; that's why they fight in like these underground rings."

"yeah i can see why." bella said as she took a sip of her cherry coke. "so what are we watching next weekend?"

"both iron eagle movies." johnny said as he got under the bedcovers.

"um, you already chose bloodsport, now it's my turn to pick a movie." bella smirked as she laid down next to johnny. "we're watching a romance movie next weekend."

"you're kidding me right?" johnny laughed as he moved closer to bella and played with her hands. "let me guess : a really sad chick movie?"

"yup." bella laughed as she rolled onto his chest and traced the muscles on his torso. "or are you too macho for those lovey-dovey movies?"

"you and i both know that when you rent a romance movie, we're gonna end up making out the entire time, just like when you rented some kind of wonderful." johnny laughed as he played with bella's hair.

"i knew you were gonna say that, but who initiated it?" bella laughed. "you were falling asleep and when i woke you up, you kissed me–"

"it was getting kinda boring." johnny laughed. "don't tell me you didn't enjoy it."

"fine, i did." bella smiled as she softly bit her lip. she placed her head on his stomach as he continued to play with her hair. there was a small moment of silence between the couple until johnny broke it.

"how're you feeling?" johnny sighed. "about your interview?"

"i'm beyond nervous." bella sighed. "i'm trying not to overthink it so much. i'm trying to distract myself, but i'm just scared that i won't be good enough for the job."

"bella, you're a hardworker. even before you graduated, you already landed an internship. that's gotta say something." johnny said. "it's gonna be okay. just relax."

"thank you." bella smiled. "for having so much faith in me."

"you've had faith in me when nobody did, so now it's my turn." johnny smiled as he pressed his forehead against bella's. "i love you."

"i love you too." bella smiled as she turned to the side and slowly drifted off to sleep. as she slept peacefully, johnny wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close to him.

as the couple slept, bella's mind was racing with thoughts about her interview. although it was 3 weeks away, she prepared but also kept herself busy by surrounding herself with her friends and boyfriend. although she kept herself distracted and attempted to keep her mind off of all the pressure, her nerves still crept up, like tonight.

bella slowly opened her eyes and checked the clock that was on her bedside table that read 1:48am. she hated those sleepless nights where she stayed up overthinking. bella sighed as she turned to the side to find the blonde fast asleep while quietly snoring. she rubbed her eyes and slowly got out of bed, careful not to wake johnny.

she slowly walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen. bella walked towards the freezer and pulled out a little tub of cookie dough ice cream. she sighed before walking towards a little stool and sat down. the brunette sat there eating small scoops of ice cream and thinking about her interview.

she thought about what johnny had said about getting an internship before graduating, which kind of surprised her. she had made it this far, what came next? if she didn't get this job, it would take months for another spot to open up. the thing is bella didn't want another shot, she really wanted this one. as bella continued eating scoops of ice cream, she heard footsteps come towards the kitchen.

"bella?" johnny groaned as he turned on the kitchen lights. "it's almost 2am babe."

"i can't do it." bella sighed as she continued to eat from the tub of ice cream. "this interview thing is really scaring the shit out of me."

johnny sighed and ran a hand through his hair before walking into the kitchen to grab a spoon and started to eat ice cream. "i thought you hated cookie dough." bella laughed.

"mmh, it's not so bad." johnny laughed as he continued to eat spoonfuls of ice cream. "the interview is 3 weeks away, it's gonna be okay."

"i can't stop thinking about it." bella sighed. "i haven't been able to sleep without thinking about what could go wrong."

"i know where to go." johnny said as he put his spoon down and went back into the bedroom
to grab a tank top. he walked back into the living room and grabbed the car keys. "you coming?" 

"john, it's 2am." bella softly chuckled. "all the bars closed about an hour ago and i'm in pajamas."

"just trust me." johnny smiled as he intertwined his hand with the brunette's. "you'll feel much better once you're there, also bring the ice cream."

the sound of the waves crashing was the only thing that was heard on the beach. the couple sat down in the sand under the starry california sky as they enjoyed the peaceful night while sharing the tub of ice cream. they had craved some time alone for so long.

"you see? i knew you would feel better here." johnny smiled as he scooped out some ice cream with his spoon. "the beach always makes you feel better. it's your spot."

"i do feel better." bella smiled as she continued to eat the ice cream. "it's also been our little spot since high school."

"remember that one time when we came down for spring break and almost fucked, but got caught?" johnny chuckled. "you were so scared."

"yeah i remember; you were too busy laughing your ass off while i was afraid this would get back to my parents." bella laughed. "they would've killed me if they found out i was about to have sex on the beach."

"as if they don't know that we have sex." johnny smirked as he grabbed some ice cream with his spoon. "and that our first time was in your house, up in your room."

"oh please. i wasn't about to tell them that i had lost my virginity to you at 17, in my room, while they were gone." bella chuckled. "it feels like just yesterday we were seniors, going to parties up in the hills and staying out late; now we're 22 and 23, working non-stop."

"where'd the time go right?" johnny sighed. "i remember how we used to stay out all night and now we don't because we're out by 9 o' clock."

"what if we did?" bella said as she scooped some ice cream out of the tub. "we're still young, we can attempt to go out and just have some time for ourselves. besides, we could use some time out of the apartment."

"are you sure?" johnny chuckled. "work's really kicking both our asses that we just end up staying in."

"we can't stay confined in the apartment all the time." bella said. "we don't even have to go somewhere busy, like a club or a party. we can just go to grab a bite to eat or just come over here and have a drink. we could really use the night out, john. we've been working our asses off; we deserve it."

"we do, especially you." johnny sighed. "alright, let's do it and i know exactly where to go first."

"where?" bella smiled as she finished up the ice cream.

"you'll just have to find out next weekend." johnny smirked as he softly pecked bella's lips.

"i hate it when you do that." bella softly laughed.

"i know."
