FLASHBACK — SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE LAS VEGAS, NEVADA; 1985

the desert sun was beginning to set as bella's eyes fluttered open. the remaining rays of sun shined through the window of the small motel room that the couple had rented as they made their way to new york. she looked over to the side to find johnny fast asleep, softly snoring as he tightened his grip around bella's waist. while on the road, the couple took turns driving, but johnny had driven out of california and into the desert, eventually arriving in vegas.

she smiled as she ran her hands through his golden blonde hair as he slowly opened his eyes. "hey gorgeous." johnny smiled as he placed a small kiss on her nose.

"hi." bella smiled. "you feel better?"

"still kinda tired. it's your turn to drive, princess." johnny chuckled as he sat up from the bed. bella chuckled as she laid back down, rubbing her eyes. as she looked to the side, she found her boyfriend grabbing a small brown paper bag.

"i can't believe you actually brought it." bella chuckled as her boyfriend grabbing a joint from the small bag. "how did you–i'm not even gonna ask."

"i'm gonna go smoke this outside." johnny said. "you wanna join me?"

"why not." bella sighed as she got out of bed and walked out of the room. while the sun set around them, the couple stood at the balcony of the motel, passing the joint to each other.

"i remember when sid and mom came to vegas." johnny sighed as he took a hit of the joint. "it was back in '83. mom hated it because she doesn't like gambling and that's all sid did that weekend. while they were gone, i remember getting so wasted that weekend."

"my parents loved coming to vegas." bella laughed as she was under the effects of the weed. "they always joked about how they almost came to vegas and got married in those tacky, elvis-themed chapels."

"i cannot picture your folks getting married, with some guy officiating their wedding, dressed as elvis." johnny laughed as he took one last hit of the joint, passing it to bella. "those places must make a shit-ton of money."

"there must be weddings every day here." bella giggled as she took one last hit and put out the joint. the couple walked back into the bedroom and laid back down on their bed. "it must be a thrill though; driving all the way to vegas, just you and the love of your life, no one else around, it's just you and them."

johnny turned to the side and wrapped his arms around bella's waist. "let's get married." he smiled as bella giggled at his impulse. "we're a couple minutes outside of vegas. let's go get married."

"i think you smoked too much of that." bella giggled as she ran her hands through his hair. "you really wanna get married?"

"yeah." johnny smiled as he pressed his forehead onto hers. "i can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else."

bella giggled as he pressed her lips onto his. "you wanna get married right now?" bella smiled as she looked up at her boyfriend.

"doesn't matter. right now, tomorrow, next week, in 5 years." johnny chuckled. "i just wanna marry you."

bella softly chuckled as she kissed the blonde once more. he gripped her waist while he kissed her, trailing his hands up her sides. "i love you." bella smiled.

"oh, am i gonna make you the happiest girl ever." johnny smiled as he held the brunette closer to him.

"you already have."

PRESENT DAY — VAN NUYS, CA; 1990

it was a quarter 'til 2 as the couples bodies were intertwined as the radio softly played is it love by whitesnake. the couple pulled away as bella laid beside johnny, then turned to the side to face the blonde. he wrapped his arms around bella's waist, as she smiled.

"i've missed you." johnny sighed as he caressed her cheek.

"so did i." bella smiled. "so, we're really getting married?"

"if you still want to." johnny said intertwining his hand with hers.

"i do." bella smiled as she played with his hands. there was a brief moment of silence between the couple until bella sighed and broke the silence. "so, what are you gonna wanna do?"

"i think i should be asking you that." johnny said as bella cuddled closer to him. "what do you wanna do?"

"well, i want the "white wedding", a big wedding." bella smiled. "i want the perfect white wedding dress with all my bridesmaids dressed in pink. i want my father to walk me down the isle, then meeting you at the end. and finally, i want to walk out of the church as everyone claps and smiles. that's what i want."

"bella, you do realize how much our white wedding's gonna cost right?" johnny sighed as he ran his hands through his hair. "we don't have enough money and we need to save every penny for the baby."

"my parents can help out. they'd love to." bella smiled. "i know you don't wanna take anymore money from them, but they'll help us; they have been from the beginning."

"why don't we just elope?" johnny said as bella rolled onto his chest, as he ran her hands through her hair. "it's cheaper and quicker. with a wedding, it's gonna take months to plan and well, i don't wanna wait; i'd marry you tomorrow if i could."

"look, i know it's your impulses talking, but i want my family there; my mom, dad, my grandmother, your mother. i also want my friends there, our friends. chris, jen, the guys. they've been with us every step of the way." bella sighed.

there was the silence again. they both wanted two different things, bella wanted a big wedding with all the works and johnny just wanted to elope. bella let out a loud sigh as she placed her head on his chest and smiled as he heard his heart beat. "why don't we just get married?" bella smiled as she looked up at her boyfriend.

"bella, we're gonna get married." johnny chuckled as he ran his hands through her hair.

"honey, i know, but let's just get married." bella smiled. "we can head to the courthouse first thing tomorrow; i'm off, you're off. there's no guarantee that they'll marry us right away, but we'll save a lot of money."

"that doesn't so bad." johnny smiled. "i know tony married mandy a week after he proposed. so, maybe around next week?"

"who knows?" bella sighed. "hopefully."

"i can't wait to marry you." johnny smiled as he softly caressed bella's cheek and placing his lips on hers.

A WEEK LATER — LOS ANGELES, CA

bella sighed as she looked at herself in the bedroom mirror, adjusting her white blazer and straightening out her top. she then turned to find her boyfriend, still asleep and softly snoring. although it was her wedding day, she had to go to work half-day. johnny was able to get the day off with the excuse that he was taking laura to a doctors appointment.

a week after the couple decided to have an intimate ceremony at the courthouse. it was just them two with laura as a witness. they didn't tell their friends; the only people who knew were both their parents because they wanted it to be intimate and special.

bella walked to the bed and sat on the edge, as she softly played with johnny's messy blonde hair. "johnny?" she smiled. "wake up, honey."

johnny softly groaned as he opened up his eyes to find the brunette who was to become his wife in a few hours and smiled. "hey gorgeous." he smiled as he sat up and kissed her lips. "you heading off to work already?"

"yeah." bella smiled as he intertwined his hand in hers.

"i'll meet you there?" johnny smiled as he pressed his forehead onto hers.

"yeah." bella chuckled. "i'll be the one in white."

"i love you." johnny sighed as he kissed bella once more.

"i love you more." bella smiled before putting her heels on and grabbing her purse. as she walked out of the room, johnny laid back down and fell back asleep. bella walked out of the apartment and started the car. as she drove to work, she smiled as fleetwood mac's everywhere played on the radio.

you know that i'm falling, and i don't know what to say.

she sighed as she gripped the steering wheel, softly smiling as she drove to work. since bella was younger, she had dreamt of getting married and having that big wedding, where the perfect guy waited for her at the end of the isle. although she wasn't getting her big wedding, she was just happy that she was marrying the love of her life; he wasn't perfect but he loved her, a lot. she felt the baby shift in her womb once she stopped at a red light, a few tears fell from her eyes as she parked the car.

she had gotten what she wanted; the job, the husband, and the baby.

"you look so handsome, honey." laura smiled as johnny finished buttoning up his denim dress shirt. "you're all grown."

johnny sighed as he took one last look at himself in the mirror. he was due at the courthouse in about an hour and it was safe to say that he was very nervous because this was really happening; he was about to marry the beautiful brunette whom he was absolutely crazy about.

"you're nervous." laura said. "i can see it, but it's totally normal."

"what if she backs out, ma?" johnny sighed as he turned to look at his mother.

"i'm sure she's nervous, just like you." laura smiled. "it's normal to have cold feet, don't worry."

johnny took one last look in the mirror as laura stood back and admired her son; her beautiful little blonde boy who was now a man, who was about to have a family of his own. she wiped some tears from her eyes as johnny took a deep breath.

"ready?" johnny smiled as he took his mother's hand.

laura smiled as she took her son's hand and placed a soft kiss on his palm. "i'm ready. are you?" she smiled.

"yeah." johnny smiled. "i am."

bella parked her mercedes and as she turned off the engine, she took a deep breath. she took her glasses off and placed them atop of her head as she slowly walked out of the car, she spotted her boyfriend's red pontiac parked in the front and smiled.

once he saw bella step out of her car, johnny quickly stepped out of the firebird and helped his mother out of the passenger seat. bella walked towards her fiancé, smiling ear to ear as she ran into his arms and placing a kiss on his lips.

once the couple walked into the courthouse, they walked into the courtroom, hand in hand, as they presented themselves in front of the judge. they intertwined their hands together and stared into each other's eyes as the judge began to officiate their ceremony. laura looked at her son and her new daughter-in-law, as she wiped a few tears from her eyes.

all through their ceremony, bella fought back tears as she looked at her fiancé's blue eyes that were also close to tears as the familiar fleetwood mac song resonated in the back of her mind.

oh, i wanna be with you everywhere.

the couple intertwined their hands together as they placed their wedding rings on each other. upon saying their i do's, bella felt movement in her tummy as the judge finished officiating their ceremony with the words :

i now pronounce you, by the state of california, man and wife.

it was now official; john lawrence, her boyfriend of 5 years, was now her husband.

as of this day on, she was isabella lawrence.
