First lil bit takes place in Twilight, when they all head at to the beaches in La Push. Hopefully, I'll feel more inspired this time around. Enjoy!

"You came?"

Amber's head shot up at the slight trace of surprise in Mike's voice. Following his gaze, she noticed Bella Swan slowly walking towards the group. Once she saw realized who it was, Amber had to admit she was slightly taken back as well.

She knew that Mike had extended the invitation to the beach trip in La Push to Bella, but it was an entirely different story on whether the said girl would show up. Even though she had just arrived at the small town of Forks, she had already caught the attention of the Cullens. Well, a certain Cullen.

Edward's attention towards the Swan girl had caused some disbelief within Amber's little group of friends, and knowing that quite a few of the males liked her more than a friend should wasn't helping. Glancing at Lauren and Jessica, she rolled her eyes when she saw them not so subtly talking about the new girl.

"I said it would be sunny today, didn't I?" Mike continued to boast, smiling proudly as if he controlled the weather. Bella nodded. "I told you I was coming," she reminded him.

"We're just waiting for Lee and Samantha... unless you invited someone," he quietly responded. When she shook her head no, Mike's smile grew. "Will you ride in my car? It's that or Lee's mom's minivan."

Amber scoffed at his obvious infatuation. "I don't know. I hear that's where the party's at."

Mike gave her a side glare before smiling back down at Bella. "If you wanna ride with Lauren, be my guest." Looking slightly proud of his response, he pushed through the two to the other group, leaving Amber alone with Bella.

"I'm glad you came," Amber gently said, making Bella twist her head to hear her. "If not, I would have never heard the end of it from Mike."

Shrugging, Bella looked slightly regretful as she peeked over at the other group. "I'm not sure if everyone wanted me here or not."

Amber let out a laugh and let her voice drop to a whisper. "If you mean Lauren and her group of minions, I wouldn't worry. Besides, if she bothers you just tell me and I'll take care of it. Or do us all a favor and tell your father so he can arrest her."

Bella let a small smile slip on her face and chuckled. "I think I can handle it, but thanks."

Simply nodding, Amber sighed as she noticed Mike motioning them over to his car. "Let's go before he has a heart attack."

The fifteen minutes from Forks to La Push was shorter than she remembered. Maybe because she and Bella were trying to hold their laughter from the look on Mike's face when Jessica shoved herself between the two. Continuing to talk lowly to Bella, Amber was pleasantly surprised when she found them getting along better than she thought. With not having a large window of opportunity to talk to her in the past, she was enjoying their conversation now.

It had been a while since Amber had last visited the reservation's beaches, so seeing the waves crashing against the shore on First Beach was refreshing. The water was darker than those of normal beaches, even with the sunlight shining down.

Sticking close to her new friend, they followed Mike as he led them to a pile of driftwood a little less than twenty feet away from the waves.

"Have you ever seen a driftwood fire?" Mike asked, eyes shining at Bella.

"Mike, we use to come here all the time. Of course I've seen one." Snorting at the look that Mike shot her way, she turned her head to let them have their moment.

After a while, half the group decided to go find some tidal pools along the path. Amber, along with Mike, immediately joined in. She wasn't sure of Bella's plan until she saw her quietly creeping behind them, quietly following the group as if she didn't want anyone to notice.

Falling behind to walk with her, they continued behind the group in silence. Even as the reached the pools, Bella hadn't talked much at all. Not that it bothered Amber; she was as comfortable with a flowing conversation as she was with the peaceful silence.

Well, as silent as it could get with the boys whooping at each other, trying to push the other into the pools.

When they finally decided it was enough and decided to return, Amber's eyebrows shot up as she noticed that their group doubled. As they walked more and more towards the group, her eyes began picking out the unique traits that all of them seemed to possess. Long, straight dark hair reaching down the backs along with the coppery tone to their skin gave them away as inhabitants from the reservation.

As the two sat down, Eric began to introduce them to those who went away. As he got around to Bella, Amber noticed a certain boy look up, face scrunching in slight realization. The sun eventually began to lower into the mountains, and as the group dispersed again, he came over to sit in front of the two girls.

"You're Isabella Swan, aren't you?"

Amber could feel Bella's mood deflate at his words. "Bella," she sighed.

"I'm Jacob Black." Nodding once at Amber, he turned his attention back towards the brunette beside her. "You bought my dad's truck." His words made the tense girl relax a smidgen.

"Oh. You're Billy's son. I probably should remember you."

"Billy Black," Amber thought out loud. "My brother talks about him a lot."

His interest was back on her. "And your brother is?"

"Jamie Hendricks. He moved her a couple years ago and apparently Billy really helped him out," she explained.

Eyes lighting up, Jacob nodded. "Yeah, I know him. So you're Amber then." At the confusion on her face, he went on. "He talks about you a lot too."

"All good things, I hope," she teased.

Afterwards, the two of them began a separate conversation was about Bella's new truck, and Amber lost interest. Instead, she began scanning the crowd that still remained. Running her gaze through the teenagers, she stopped at one.

He was obviously younger than her, looking closer to Jake's fifteen than to her seventeen. As if he felt her eyes burn a hole in his back, he turned, meeting her gaze.

Amber didn't put herself under the shy category but still flushed as she felt his gaze on her. Trying to ignore him, she tilted her head to look back at Bella and Jacob, only to realize that they weren't there anymore. After a quick glance around, she saw the two of them walking down the beach in the opposite direction of everybody else.

Not totally happy that she was now sitting alone, she moved to look back at the boy. Only instead of one looking her way, there was two. It was obvious they were talking about her, with there eyes darting from the ground, to each other, to her every few seconds. Raising a single eyebrow, she smirked as their cheeks lightly tinted pink and looked down for good.

Looking away and towards the ocean, she was surprised to feel heat radiate beside her all of a sudden. She wasn't that shocked to see that it was one of the boys.

"I'm Quil. Quil Atera," he greeted, his lips easily falling into a smirk. She stared at him for a moment before nodding. "Amber Hendricks."

"Jamie's sister?" He asked, looking just as shocked as Jacob.

"Apparently that's what I'm known as around here." His lips shifted back into a smirk.

"Well I'm happy to get know you for you."

"So, not that I'm totally not thrilled about you being here... but why?" She deadpanned, ignoring the false look that flashed across his face. His act faltered as he laughed. "Well, to be completely honest, my boy Em wouldn't shut up about you so I came over to make him jealous."

"You wanna know how to get him really jealous," she said, her voice dropping an octave. He nodded, at a loss for words, making her smile sarcastically. "Keep dreaming, kid. I don't date boys younger than me, or shorter for the fact."

Hopping up, she let her fingers move in wave like motion and blew him a kiss. Laughing as he 'caught' it, she let her gaze drift towards the other boy, but didn't like the look on his face. When he finally looked up to her, she sent him a smile and wink as well, turning around before seeing his reaction.

Boys.

So happy that I'm working on this again. I hated how it was going last time, so I've decided to restart. Eternally grateful to those who were patient enough to wait for this. If yall wanna see anything happen in this book, don't hesitate to comment or send me a message. I love love love getting those messages from you, and even though I don't respond to all of them I do see them!

Again, thank you all for sticking with me for this long. I'll try and get the first few updates out rather quickly so I can set a tone for the book. Still playing around with the new plot though. Don't forget to vote and comment!
