4. Distress yet Calm

~◍☆-✿-☆◍~

~At Maheswari Mansion~

The family settled in the hall, the disturbing events continued pushing them more into misery.

They knew, nothing was alright.

Their supposed bride was missing on wedding day!

Their son married her sister in haste!

The girl, loved him once, and was now wounded with his inconsiderate impulsiveness.

There was a huge barrier between the couple, for which the family knew nothing to mitigate.

The office days of Maheswaris were given break considering the marriage. And it continued due to how it turned out. Business will carry-on with designates; family needed them now.

Sanskar Maheswari stared at his mobile. He couldn't speak to his dupatte waali dosth till now. His family was always around her and she was aloof. He understood that she needed some alone time, to sort her mind. And he, being her crime partner, could wait for her comfort.

Saying that he was torn between his brother and friend would an understatement. He couldn't put words together to reprimand his younger brother; but the aloofness brought pity too. Human do err!

Sanskar shook his head postponing the thought of calling Ragini. She would be with her Maa. Baadi will bring Ragini out of her grief, at least for a while.

Seeing Laksh entering, lost in his own thoughts, with a worry frown etched was not something her expected. The whole family was chalant from that day. Suddenly he felt weird, feared worse.

Has something happened? To him? To Ragini? To........Swara?

"Laksh" Sanskar called out.

"Hmm... Bhai" Laksh just responded to his call.

"What happened? You look more tensed. All is well in Baadi, right?" Sanskar enquired.

They had reached the hall meanwhile and everyone had their attention on Laksh.

"Swara is back home."

His reply made the atmosphere tenser. All were quiet for a moment out of surprise while he explained to them the meeting with Swara.

"Is she telling truth?" Sujatha asked suddenly.

"How can he know, Mom? Cool down your mind for some time." Sanskar tried to calm his over excited Mom.

The maheswaris were disturbed more. It was getting complicated. The elders decided to call Shekhar and enquire about wellbeing of Swara as well as the situation in the home.

"Laksh, Where's Ragini?" Annapurna asked realising her absence.

"Ragini stayed there, Maa. She said she'll return after a couple of days." Laksh informed them.

"Laksh, Ragini and Swara...." He didn't hear the rest.

'Is she telling TRUTH?!!' Laksh's mind centered at Sujatha's words. His heart was having another battle. Everything changed into another big trouble; because of him?!

He got engaged to Ragini but it broke.

The he declared her as her as his fiancée for his brother.

Later, revealed to her that he loves Swara, her sister.

She helped in his love, made it reach till marriage and at the mandap, he married Ragini in a haste.

Now Swara has returned.

What should he do, now? He can never love Ragini more than Swara, even for fulfilling the marriage. He knew that, then and now.

And Swara won't lie about such a big thing and won't even do. In the heat of the moment, he lost cool and took a wrong decision.

It was his lack of trust!

As a result, he is now in a lifetime relation with Ragini. In short, now the three life is in a chakravyuh of which none knows the way to break it.

Laksh quivered as his thoughts continued while Sanskar observed him silently.

"Lucky." Sanskar called out to which Laksh responded. "We need to talk." Sanskar told and took Laksh upstairs to his room.

~At Baadi~

Ragini climbed the stairs with Badaam Doodh, her mind wandering with a faint smile on her lips. The continuous restlessness of her mind took a backseat when she had her sisters in her embrace. She thanked her Lord for returning her sister safely and smiled on the sudden feeling she got to visit Baadi. Yes, they're truly soul-sisters.

Sharmishta and Shekhar sat beside Swara while she was trying to convince them that she is fine, happy! Daadi maa and Daada ji has went to some relative's home. That was a relief. At the heat of moment, they would never let the thing sort out. This matter should be handled with delicacy. Both their daughters' life are involved. Unlike before, now Ragini is married to Laksh which has more emotional depth and they can't decide anything in a hurry.

"Swar.." Ragini called out while entering their room and smiled seeing their parents. She handed over two cups of Chai to them and Badam milk to Swara seeing which she made faces.

"Nothing doing. You should finish the whole glass in a go. Your drama won't convince me. Woh our Maa is innocent that's why you used to escape from her. I'm not Mishti Maa, for your information." Ragini completed her words with a strict face while Shekhar and Mishti chuckled at her.

"You both have a talk. That's what is needed now." Shekhar reminded them about the situation lightly and they left giving the sisters their space.

"Finally it's Swaragini time." Ragini mentioned and sat on the bed handing over the glass to Swara which she emptied in a go while making faces. "You're fine na, Swara?" Ragini again worried for her after placing the glass over the table.

"Ragu, I'm fine. Stop being Mishti maa." Swara chuckled a little making Ragini chuckle with her.

"You're happy, right Ragini?" Swara asked trying not to show her grief.

"What do you think Swara? We need to talk; an open talk." Ragini told straight to Swara and went to lock their doors.

|Conversation simultaneously between Swaragini & SanLaksh|

"What do you think you want now, Lucky? The situation is worse now. You need to handle it with delicacy. For that first you need to know what you want." Sanskar came on his point straightly.

"Bhai..." Laksh sighed in distress. "I'm confused, on true note, to the extreme. Now I feel guilty for taking such a decision childishly." Laksh expressed his remorse. "I don't want to hurt Ragini. I don't want to mock her feelings and her life but Bhai, I love Swara, more than anything. I don't think I can love anyone else to that extent. Even we try to adjust with this marriage, it will be injustice to both of us. I won't be able to keep her happy to the extent which she expects and deserves from a relation. And regarding Swara, she won't lie about such a big thing, Bhai. So it's clear that she was not at fault. In short, the whole mistake is on my part."

"Do you think I'm happy Swara?" Ragini questioned Swara back.

"You tell Ragini. You always loved him, wanted to marry him and always considered that home as your Sasural. You would be happy, No?"

"Haa Swara. Everything you said is right except one thing that I'm happy. Swara I don't want to conceal anything from you. I know you may feel bad, even hate me, but you need to know"

Swara let out a sigh as Ragini finished narrating her and Sanskar's actions. 'She did all these to win back her love and my happiness blinded me not to see her yearning.' Swara thought while her gaze remained fixed on her sister.

"Do you hate me?" Ragini asked Swara in a worry mumble.

"Tell me why you're not happy Ragu." Swara asked chucking off Ragini's question.

"I didn't get the answer Swara!"

"I don't need to tell that RAGU!"

"It is your love, your marriage, your life and your sasural. How can I be happy there? I felt suffocating there. I was worried for you, I know the pain of losing own love. How will you handle it? Everyone had love for me there. But Laksh was longing for you. He was broken because of your absence that is why it all ended like this. I...."

"Then why did you agreed to marry Laksh?!" Swara asked with a concern in her voice. Something is not matching up.

"These much happened in between!" Laksh exclaimed to Sanskar's confession. He couldn't believe his ears.

"Are you going to leave Ragini?" Sanskar questioned again for which he knew what Laksh wanted.
