32. COLLOQUY
Double Update ♥️
Swara was staring the moon accusing it of deception. He is Chandra Dev, right! And Ragini shared all her happiness and woes with him as a friend. Human can't control future, but almighty could! He could have helped the one who considered him as a friend baring her heart as she would do to her mother if she could! If their mother wasn't in great distress, atleast they could seek comfort in her soft whisperings, tender caresses and her love-filled food! Only if their father was spared!
(Shekhar and Sharmishta are in Maheswari Mansion. Due to the whole chaos, they were recommended not to get tensed over the matters and the family (if said specifically, me) tried the best not to involve them in the mess.)
"Swara..." A splitting headache was throttling Laksh. Who dreamt such a day!
"Laksh, everyone was shocked. That's why they didn't say anything, right? Kavitha... She won't affect Ragini, right? She has suffered enough. I can't see her going through all those again." Silent tears made way down her cheeks.
"I am baffled Swara; even now! So are others. You know our family, right! Do you think they would let anything happen to Ragini?"
"But today--- in fact all these days, only Ragini was doing--
"Because we didn't know what the problem was! Medicine is prescribed on diagnosing the actual disease. When we were kept in dark, what could we do? Even you had to remain ignorant, right?.
But there's something amiss. Arvind and Ananya would have known this and they didn't find it necessary to inform us?" Laksh mused.
"They were equally shocked. And-- and you know how frenzy Ananya was! But--"
"But they were expecting someone. Maybe they didn't know that it was Kavitha. So, Kavitha is having another identity?"
"Kavitha's death was not real? What was that then?"
"Only Bhai can help us with Kavitha's death! And we need to talk to Arvind and Ananya."
.
"I'm scared, Laksh!" She mumbled as Laksh pulled her into a bear hug.
'Even I'm!' He thought as he sighed.

Sun rays peeped in through the most tiny space between the curtains chasing away the darkness in Sanskar and Ragini's room. Tiny droplets of water clinging the windows and hangings adjacent to the windows sparkled in sunlight. An indeed fresh morning!
Sanskar opened his eyes being disturbed by the indirect teasing of sun. He felt a hand buried in his hair, that is when he realised that he slept off in Ragini's lap. He turned his head slightly to get a view of his Ragz. She seems tired and uncomfortable in the posture, bags under her eyes said him about her sleepless night, her fingers on his head showed her deep care; he sighed closing his eyes.
Ragini woke up startled; her eyebrows twitched as she closed her eyes again trying to bring her turbulent mind to sanity.
On hearing her sigh, Sanskar slowly shifted and got up from her lap but she was so immersed in her own world. He stared her with glassy eyes as guilt started engulfing him.
"Sanskar, you woke up!" Ragini tried to be cheerful; indeed she wanted to be better than last night.
He continued staring her and his eyes welled up as he took both her hands in his. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he found his voice.
" You trust me, right Ragz?" His eyes were impatient to witness her reaction; so was his ears to hear them.
It did take less than a minute for Ragini's eyes to get watery. 'Trust me, Sankar!' She had told him numerous times.
She smiled a little and gave a nod.
"I want to hear, please." Sanskar pleaded.
"I do, Sanskar. I trust you...the most in my life now." She said honestly.
He relaxed evidently as the words sunk in and he tightened his hold on her palms.
"Ragz, do you remember the night before our marriage? I called you for the party but you were scared of me backing out from the marriage." He said softly as Ragini nodded her head in response. "Do you remember what I told that day?" He asked bringing a smile on her face at the memories.
"Ragz, I can't say that our life would be perfect. It will have highs and lows. The thing is, we will be together. Whatever happens, we can handle it together. I'll be there for you and I won't disappoint you."
"Ragz.." He made sure of his hold repeately. "I---" he trailed off.
"Sanskar, it's okay. You can talk to me whenever you want. Give yourself sometime to get a grip over things. I'm here only. I know you're extremely affected by Kavitha's return." Ragini tried to comfort Sanskar with her words.
"So are you!" Sanskar was quick in his reply. "Ragz, YOU'RE MY WIFE. And I can't even imagine what a wife would feel in a situation like this. I'm sorry. I was so emotional yesterday that I ended up like that. I didn't want to but--"
"Sanskar, why are you being sorry for that? I'm your wife with whom you can share anything."
"Ragz, before stepping ahead, we need to be clear about us. We can't just jeopardize our relation with some silly games or misunderstandings." Sanskar said in a tone of finality.
"You do love her Sanskar, don't you?" Fresh tears rolled down her cheeks even without her knowing.
"Ragz, Kavitha was my everything once upon a time. And when I lost her, I felt failed as a lover and friend as I couldn't protect her. And the misconception that my failure was because of my family made me go mad.
Later, when talks of marriage came up, I was afraid; afraid to take responsibility of another person. I didn't want to marry, that is fact, but I knew I had to consider it at some point of my life for family. And you came as my friend, my Wife.
All of a sudden, when I was verge of losing you, the fear I had kept aside engulfed me again, Ragz. I was struck at the moment I saw you lying in a pool of blood. Unknowingly, I again failed to protect! But you were strong to return back to me.
And now, Kavitha, whom I had my world around her, comes back and accuses me of being her assassin. Yesterday, at that moment, I felt I failed as a human." Sanskar heaved a sigh. His life is anything but simple.
"And on what you asked, I love Kavitha. She had been my friend since I was 16. Later, even after we developed feelings for eachother, our love for eachother as friends was and is more deeper than as lovers. And that love remains even now. She has a permanent place in my heart, Ragz."
They both stared each other as Ragini tried to force a smile on her face.
"So you do, Ragz! You never need to replace her because you own another part of my heart. The most important place, bigger than her now, my Wife! Ragz, did I ever run away from acknowledging you as my wife?" Sanskar's voice was soft.
Ragini nodded in denial with her watery eyes; tears of relief.
"Ragz, Kavitha is my past. I don't know how to describe my relation with her. She's more to a friend but not more important than you. I---"
"I understood." Ragini said with a smile.
"We knew eachother's past and had accepted it. Maybe that's why I had blabbered so many things yesterday. I consider you as a part of my life, Ragz. That's why unconsciously I said 'my Kavitha', 'our Kavitha' and all to you.. Sorry if you--"
"I didn't feel bad." Atleast not now. She was at peace finally.
"Ragz, you're my present, with whom I've seen the future. I won't let my past--"
"Our past." She corrected.
Sanskar smiled. "Our past! Our past won't affect our present or future. This is a blow on us, to see if we hold on to each other! Never forget that we are together; I'm here for you always."
Moments of silence passed as they found solace in each other's pleasant face.
Ragini chuckled as relief washed over her. Sanskar too. He secured her protectively in his arms as they share a hug of promise, support, care and love.
"Kavitha can't be evil, Ragz. The person I saw yesterday is confusing me to the core. Maybe you're right, people tend to change with time. Even then, her old self will be there, somewhere within her. But wee need to know what went wrong."
"Hmmm.." Ragini hummed agreeing. "Sanskar." She looked up and he released his hold.
At the next moment, she tenderly cupped his face. "I know it's difficult for you. You don't need to project yourself strong. You're with your family. So you can show your pain, frustration, confusion or happiness to us. Don't bottle up everything inside you."
Sanskar nodded with a smile as he placed one of his hands over hers.
Isn't life better with such problems if your life partner understands you more than yourself!

"Arvind!" Sanskar snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Bhaiyya, as we said, we had no idea about the return of your ex-girlfriend." Ananya said bringing the seriousness.
"You had idea --" Sanskar's voice trailed off as Ananya cut his words in between
"We had idea about someone from our enemy gang approaching, but it was not Kavitha. We expected Miss. Mehta to visit here." Ananya said clearing the confusions.
"Lady Hitler!" Sanskar and Laksh uttered bemused.
"She??" Swara was surprised as she exchanged glance with Ragini.
"Yeah. Don't you find it strange? Mehta industries has been collaborating with Maheswaris for the last 10 years. And all of a sudden, the heir becomes both of yours' terror." It was Ananya again.
"They had justified that she had been hannded over the management for the first time. So she was trying to bring a grip over it." Laksh said what he knew. They were least interested in knowing something about that woman so had very less information.
"But Shanaya dug out very interesting information about her. Ms. Mehta was in New York for the last 2.5 years. So the fact that she had been handling other departments of Mehtas is a clear lie. She had a slight control over Maheswari industries owing to the new contract executed between the organisations last year. Also, it was easy for her to deploy her people here and there considering their power." Arvind was still salty over the fact that their calculations went wrong.
"She, for sure, had some connection with this Kavitha. The spies planted here by our enemies were five time noticed in various instances relating to Mehtas. Maybe, she was helping Kavitha to--
"To reach us!" Ragini completed Ananya's words.
"But why?" Arvind was confused. "There's no rivalry among the two families, neither in business nor in person. Or is there something we don't know?"
"No! Everything is so good between Mehtas and us till now. Will talk with Papa, Chachu and Adarsh bhaiyya once. And what's the plan ahead?" Laksh asked.
"To know what her plan is!" Swara said slightly lost in her thoughts. "Sanky, can you speak about that day--- Kavitha's---- Kavitha's dea-- accident happened?"
Sanskar felt an unknown hesitation knocking him. It was the most sensitive topic for him.
"Hmm.. Woh..." He started finding words to start the narration but was interrupted by Uttara.
"Bhai, Bhabhi, Ananya.. Come down for breakfast."
I don't know how this part turned out to.
So please do drop your reviews. It helps me a lot to know how the things are actually affecting the story.
