Join A Guild?
[Sakura's POV]
Kirito and I walk along a side walk, on our way to a coffee shop. Since he agreed to going, I thought that I might bond with him a little and try to become friends.
"Sorry about flipping out back there." Kirito apologizes. I nod. "It's okay. I would do the same thing if my sister died like that." I say. "You have a sister?" He asks me. I nod.
"Yeah. Tsukiko. She's only seven." I say. "Oh. I have another sister. Her name is Suguha." Kirito explains. "Oh. How old is she?" I ask. "Around thirteen." He shrugs.
I nod. "I wonder why that guy... you know..." I gesture towards the window of the building. "Oh... I guess he just went crazy thinking he could never get out of the game." Kirito implies.
"Yeah." I simply nod. "I wonder how my aunt and sister are holding up about Mika." He wonders. "I know I'm really getting into your business.. but.. aunt?" I ask. Maybe a bit to personal.
"I'de rather not talk about it." He hesitates. I nod. We look in through the building of a window and then walk over to a door. He opens it and I slip in before him. Then we are guided to a table and take our seats.
"What would you like, today?" The worker asks with a wink towards Kirito. I tense up, not knowing why. "U-Uh.. I'de like a mochachino." He stutters. "Okay. And for you, ma'am?" She looks over to me.
"I want a caramel macchiato." I smile. She nods and walks away. I sigh and slump a bit in my chair. "I wonder how many other players have gone crazy like that." He looks at me once again.
I shrug. "I'm surprised I haven't gone crazy by now." I start to tap my finger on the table. "And one hundred levels. It took me months just to get to the eighth level." He mumbles.
"But this game hasn't been out for months." I tilt my head. "Huh?!" He looks up at me worried that I heard his thoughts. "Were you a beta tester?" I ask. He throws up his hands quickly.
"N-no! I wasn't one of those!" He quietly yells. I start to laugh. He's probably thinking I would hate him if he was. "Heheh! It's fine! It's not like I care anyway." I burst out crying, in a happy way of course.
"R-really?" He asks, leaning in so no one will here. "Yeah, I was a beta tester too." I whisper. "O-Oh." He stutters. "Here you go sir. One mochachino. And for you, one caramel macchiato." The server lady hands us our drinks.
"Thank you." I smile. She nods. Then she glares at me for a quick second and mutters to herself, "Beta testers." I swallow and look around the room to see if anyone heard.
No one looks over at us and then I sigh looking back at Kirito. "Anyways...." I take a sip of my coffee. "What?" He asks. "Ah, never mind. It's a stupid idea." I sigh. "No, it isn't. Tell me." He demands.
"I was thinking... that we should join a guild... or something." I whisper. "Okay. Let's do it." He nods. My face lights up. "Really?" I ask. "Yeah. It's what I can do for you teaching my sister some lessons." He shrugs.
"Then let's go already!" I grab his wrist and drag him out of the store. As we run along the sidewalk, we get stopped by a group of people. "Wanna join the Moonlit Black Cats? We are in desperate need of new members! Auditions are tomorrow!" A girl shoves a flyer in my face.
"Uhh... Thanks..." I plaster a fake smile on my face as we walk by. "Should we try out?" Kirito asks. "Um.. We should go. But only to see their skills. Maybe they are pretty good and can help us clear some levels?" I suggest.
He nods. "Okay. But we might want to look into some others." He says. "Okay." I agree. The rest of the time we walk around, talking and laughing, until we both had to go home. Good day. New friend.
It might not be as bad as I thought it would be.
