[Kirito's POV]
Asuna, Sakura, and I walk into the restaurant we were in yesterday, but this time with Yolko. We need to investigate the murder that took place yesterday and Yolko is gonna help us with that.
"Well, he was in our guild." She starts. "Who was in your guild?" Asuna asks. "It was Caynz, Grimlock, and I. But before that we had another member named Griselda. But she's gone." She tells us.
"Griselda was also our leader." She says, shyly. "Go on." Sakura tells her. "Okay, well, our guild had found a rare ring from a monster. But we ended up selling it with a majority of five to three." She says.
"Griselda went up to the front lines to sell it, but never returned." Yolko sighs. "That's weird." I mutter. "Grimlock was Griselda's in-game companion. Also, I think that the killer is probably going after us who opposed to sell the item. That would be Caynz, Schmitt, and I." She says.
"I wonder why." Asuna shakes her head. "Umm... Can we bring in Schmitt?" She asks us. I nod. After getting him in the room, we continue our discussion. "Schmitt, I think that the killer is the ghost of Griselda." Yolko tells him.
"W-Why do you think that?" He asks. "Well, no other player could kill somebody inside of a safe zone. It's the only reason that would make sense." She says. "Hmm... I don't know that seems a little... unbelievable..." Sakura says.
Just then, I look over to Yolko, and see her eyes widen. It sounded like a spear hitting her back. The window seal she was sitting on, doesn't keep her from falling backwards. And she does so, plummeting to the ground.
I run over to the window, afraid. "Yolko!" I yell, but that doesn't stop her from falling from this two story building. I can't believe it. Once she hits the ground, she disappears. She's... dead.
I look left and right across the rooftop. I spot a hooded person, fleeing from the scene. I jump out the window and start running after them. Then the hooded murderer takes out a teleport crystal.
I take out my sword and try to distract him. But all of my attacks are blocked by the AREA effect. They didn't seem phased at all. Then he started to use the teleport crystal. No!
A bell rings loudly so I can't hear where he's leaving to. Dang it. I run back to the room and slam my fist into the wall, thus prompting an immortal object to pop up. Asuna is trying to calm Schmitt down and telling him that it probably wasn't the ghost of Griselda.
Sakura walks up to me. "What were you thinking, running out there?!" She asks, frustrated. "I was thinking that I'de catch the dang thing!" I yell. "Well, yelling won't help!" I say, taking my seat once more, still angry.
"You two are sooo cute!" I hear Asuna say. I perk my head up. My face turns a deep shade of red. I don't dare show Kirito my face, though. "H-Huh?" I here him ask her for clarification.
"I said that you two would make a cute couple!" She giggles. Why doesn't she just shut up? She's just making it worse! "Heh. Yeah, sure." Kirito says darkly. My heart skips a beat.
Did he really just say that? No, of course not. It must be my imagination. Yeah, that's it. That dream I had though. And this? Ugh, why? Why? Why?!?!?!? Me of all people. Thanks, life.
"U-Um... Sakura? Are you okay?" Asuna asks, sounding a bit afraid. "Hm." I nod. "Well, Schmitt, you can go home now." Kirito says. "Okay, but watch out for Griselda! She could come at any moment!" I yells, then runs out.
I sigh and stand up. "It's not a ghost." I say. "I don't know..." Asuna says, unsteadily. "Aww, now you too?" I ask her. "We saw it twice, there's a chance." She says.
"No, it can't be. A ghost would need to use a teleport crystal. Maybe- no... That couldn't happen." Kirito says. Wonder what he's thinking, oh well. We walk out into the dark night and take our seats on a bench, the order being Asuna on the left, then me, and lastly Kirito on the right.
"Here." She hands us sandwiches. Kirito takes a bite out of it. "This is amazing, where did you buy it?" He asks her. "I didn't buy it, I made it." She says. Kirito then mentions auctioning it off.
Asuna gets angered, and Kirito gets scared, dropping his sandwich, thus making it evaporate. Kirito falls to the ground, sad that his sandwich is gone. I laugh. "That's Asuna for ya. The amazing cook." I crack up and Asuna just shakes her head at me.
After giggling some more, I take another bite. "I get it." Kirito says, sitting back up. "Huh?" Asuna asks him. "Get what?" I wonder. "What we had seen was something else and there has never been any logic or weapons that could make murders possible in safe areas." He tells us.
"What?" I ask, eyes widening. "Yoklo and Caynz are still alive. A players HP can't go down in a safe zone, but the durability of an item can, making it disappear into polygonal blue sparkles." Kirito explains.
"Then they could've just teleported so their bodies would disappear too." I say. He nods. "Caynz's spear through him wasn't killing him, only decreasing his armors durability. As for Yolko, I'm guessing she had the dagger piercing the back of her clothing the entire time." Kirito says.
"That's why she never showed her back to us." Asuna jumps in. "I bet the hooded murderer was Caynz, who imitated the appearance of the hooded murderer, to make it seem like he was the one who killed her." Kirito says.
"We need to go down there." Asuna says sternly. I nod and look at Kirito. He does as well. Let's get 'em.
