One year later.

Harry and Louis' friendship had blossomed into something amazing. It turned out they lived pretty close to each other as well so it worked out perfectly. They were like peas in a pod, the two of them, and their mums had also gotten along really well and made friends.

The two boys were now in the first grade and had passed both of their sixth birthdays.

Currently, Louis was at Harry's, they were standing together in front of Anne. Harry had a paper in his hand and was jumping up and down, along with Louis who was doing the same. "Pleeeeeaaaasseeeee mummy! Everyone in my class is going! I want to also!" Harry begged her. You see, their class was going on a field trip Friday to the local zoo and he was begging her to sign the paper so he could go.

Anne was hesitant because of Harry's condition. He'd never been to the zoo before.... or really anywhere that caused a lot of walking either. So she was worried that with his condition, he wouldn't be able to walk all day without getting extremely tired.

"Honey, we've talked about things like this before. You're sick, what if you get tired or your legs start to hurt? What if you get a cold?" Anne asked, worrying so much for her son who really wasn't like the other kids.

Harry had an illness that he'd been born with. She tried not to treat him differently than other kids but it was hard when he was her baby and she wanted the absolute best for him.

"But Anne! If you don't let him go I might die!" Louis said dramatically, before Harry could come up with an argument.

Anne chuckled a little at that response, looking between the two of them. They both looked so excited and hopeful that she would sign the papers.

"Please mummy! I promise none of that stuff will happen. Lou can protect me!" Harry said cutely, making Anne's heart melt at just how much Harry wanted this.

She finally gave in, "Okay fine," she sighed as she took the paper from Harry and signed it before handing it back.

Harry and Louis both squealed at the top of their lungs in excitement. They were so excited for this zoo trip.

Anne kept thinking though....

She kept thinking about the 'What ifs' or about how this would go and it worried her.

Please, let Harry be okay, she begged inside her head nervously.

Fast forward to Friday and the boys were super excited. "What're you most excited for Lou?" Harry asked as they were sitting at their little desks together, drawing pictures of the animals that they were most excited about seeing.

"I'm excited about the lions. Cuz they say 'RAWR!'" Louis yelled the last part, feeling super excited and it made Harry burst into little giggles. The teacher wasn't so pleased though.

"Louis darling try and keep it down please, use your inside voice," the teacher said sternly but calmly.

"Sorry miss!" Louis said loudly, not knowing how to control the volume on his voice yet. The teacher chuckled quietly, shaking her head fondly as she continued to let them work.

"Well I'm excited to see the koala bears." Harry continued their conversation once his giggles died down. He was scribbling a little picture of a koala onto his page.

"Those are cute" Louis smiled.

"Never seen one before, mummy doesn't allow me to the zoo," Harry replied with a sigh.

Louis gasped at that, "Well this is gonna be so fun!"

About half an hour later Harry and Louis were on the bus waiting to go to the zoo. They'd been paired up together and now they were buddies for the trip.

Harry was bundled up in a puffer jacket, although it was only slightly chilly out. Anne always got so worried he'd be cold because of his condition, so she always bundled him up.

"I'm so excited Lou Lou! It's gonna be so fun!" Harry giggled he was honestly so excited for this. He'd never been to the zoo before and he just couldn't wait to see all the animals.

"It's gonna be really fun, you're gonna love it" Louis smiled as they held hands innocently. They were such close friends and the two six year olds constantly were showing affection towards eachother.

Harry smiled and nodded, looking out the window in anticipation as they were being driven to the zoo.

Soon they arrived and Harry couldn't be more excited. He sometimes didn't understand why Anne rarely took him to places like this. The most amount of walking he'd done was at the fair that came every year. But then again, the last time he went he had a stroller for when he got tired. Now he had to walk all on his own and had no mummy there to carry him.

But that being said, he was still so excited and he walked with Louis trailing behind him a bit because he had longer legs than him and Harry's body wasn't developed like Louis' was.

Louis noticed he was straggling behind a bit, and slowed down, grabbing his hand and interlocking their fingers.

Harry smiled at that, he didn't have any other friends besides Louis and sometimes he just felt grateful he had someone like him.

After Anne explained Harry's condition to Jay, she had simplified it in a way that Louis could understand. Ever since then, he was the nicest boy ever, always understanding when Harry had to go to bed so much earlier than him, or why he was so much smaller, or why he couldn't run and play like all the other kids.

The two of them walked hand in hand, talking loudly to each other about all the animals they were seeing. They weren't listening to the tour guide but that was to be expected, they were only six.

"Oh my goodness it smells so yucky!" Harry exclaimed, holding his nose once they walked upon the wild boar exhibit. They were in the African Animals section and the wild boars exhibit smelled horrible because of how they rolled around in mud and their own waste, because well, they were animals.

Louis laughed at his reaction, finding it hilarious that Harry said that. "Yeah they smelt like a bathroom!" Louis laughed, causing Harry to giggle as well, despite his nose being scrunched up in disgust.

Louis couldn't stop rambling about the lions they saw, he was quite the talker and Harry was more soft spoken. He didn't do as good as Louis socially, and was pretty isolated from the other kids without trying.

So Harry just listened quietly, feeling his legs starting to ache because the muscles in them couldn't keep up with his peers. He was very under developed and was now realizing maybe he couldn't walk this much.

He got slower, feeling kind of tired already. They had one more exhibit until lunch, and it was the reptile one. They walked in and Harry took one look around at all the snakes and alligators and things, before feeling pretty scared. "Don't really like this one," he whispered to Louis, looking a bit uneasy.

"Oh that's okay! You can go wait outside so you don't get scared." Louis suggested, and Harry did. He walked out without the teacher seeing and stood outside of the exhibit.

The class was taking a long time in there though, and Harry was getting very tired of just standing there when his legs were hurting. So he started walking around, trying to find a bench to sit on because his legs were hurting and he was tired.

But after about ten minutes of wandering around to find a bench, he couldn't even see the reptile exhibit anymore. He didn't know where he was but he had managed to find himself all the way back with the African animal section. He felt scared, not knowing his way back and there were a lot of people and he just didn't know what to do.

He eventually couldn't stand any longer so he sat down on the ground next to the trash and recycling bins.

Silently panicking, he started crying because he had no idea where he was and he was starting to get cold because he'd left his jacket with Louis.

Tears streamed down his face as he shivered and just sat next to the garbage can crying.

It had gotten to the point where the teacher was panicking, they couldn't find Harry anywhere, it was almost like he just wandered off. Louis was worried too, standing next to the teacher while crying and holding Harry's jacket. "I wanna f-find him!" He sobbed to his teacher sadly.

She cooed, bent down to his level, and hugged him. "We will here soon hun, he couldn't have gone far yeah?" She asked and he sniffled and nodded, looking around nervously for him.

"I'm gonna call his mummy, stay with your classmates okay?" She said gently and he cried as he walked to the picnic tables to sit down while she whipped out her phone and dialed Anne's number.

"Anne speaking," she answered, not recognizing this number, but she did when she heard this:

"Hello Ms. Styles, Harry wandered off and now we can't find him."

Her biggest fears had been met, they didn't know where her baby was. Did he feel okay? What if someone took him-

Get it together.

"I'll be there right away," Anne said seriously, hanging up before rushing to her car and practically speeding to the zoo.

When Anne arrived at the zoo there were two police cars there and she automatically got ten times more scared.

She rushed in and met Harry's teacher, looking scared to the point that her hands were shaking. "Where was he last seen?" She asked her quickly and she looked just as scared.

"Outside of the reptiles. Louis said he went out because he was scared of the snakes," she explained and Anne took a deep breath.

Okay.... think, she knew her son, where would he go?

"Lou honey what animal was Harry the most excited to see today?" Anne asked him as Louis came over, still crying.

"The ummm k-koala bears mummy Anne" Louis sniffled, wiping his eyes and holding Harry's coat to his chest.

"Alright perfect, thanks honey," she said, looking at the map that the teacher had, and practically sprinted to the exhibit. When she got there she noticed it was inside too, and she immediately went in.

"Harry? Love it's mummy... you in here?" She called out, looking around until she saw little feet sticking out from next to the trashcan in the room. She let out a sigh of relief and ran to them.

Harry was sitting there shivering and crying, seeing his mummy and reaching up to her. Anne gasped, picking him up and hugging him close. "Oh honey! Mummy was so worried about you! Why are you in here all alone without a coat?" Anne asked quickly, rubbing his back and kissing his cheek multiple times.

"Wanted to see the koalas..." Harry sobbed, unable to warm up because of his condition. "Now I just wanna go home...."

Anne sniffled herself, she'd been so worried about her baby that it was all coming out now. "We will honey, let's get you home..." Anne said, carrying him out of the exhibit.

She wrapped him up in his jacket, the teacher allowing her to take him home after she apologized a million times for losing him.

She was taking Louis home as well, he'd stopped crying now that Harry had been found.

"Lets get home boys," Anne whispered as she cranked up the heat in the car and looked back at them. Harry had his head on Louis' shoulder and Louis had his arms around him protectively. Harry was sleeping, no longer shivering.

That was one of the scariest things to happen to her.....

She had almost lost her baby.

That was never happening again.....
