003. Morning Coffee
Note: I headcannon Alvar to actually be really sweet when he can set his bitterness aside (although pretttyyyy sure that's actually canon lol?)
So yeah. Hehe. Enjoy!
. . .
I moaned as I woke up to my husband rubbing my shoulder. "Hey...Y/n, wakee upp," he whined. After a second or two I sleepily rolled over to look at him.
"Yess, my love?"
He laid his head back against his pillow. "Pleeaassee will you bring me some coffee? I'm too tired to get up." he said, smirking playfully at me.
I rolled my eyes and then closed them, nestling into my pillow. "You're the one that woke me up though."
He started poking me and whispering my name again until I groaned and swat his hand away. "Fine! I'll get your coffee," I pouted, sitting up and reaching for my sweatshirt from the bedside table, "But you're gonna owe me."
"Mhm," he hummed in agreement, flopping back into a sleeping position and closing his eyes, "Wake me up when it's ready."
I groaned dramatically. "Yes then, your highness." I heard him chuckle as I left the room.
I went down to the kitchen, stretching and yawning, then looked around, momentarily forgetting what I was supposed to do, only remembering as my eyes fell upon the coffeemaker. "Right," I mumbled to myself, then hummed one of my favorite songs as I put the ground coffee into the coffee filter, the water, and then slid the pot into its place and turned it on.
As I waited for the coffee to go through, I got out mine and Alvar's mugs, each one the color of our eyes (his pale blue, mine e/c) and creamer and sugar. I put in as much as I liked of those two coffee dressings in my e/c mug and a teeny tiny bit of each in Alvar's, since he preferred the bitter coffee taste but enjoyed a pinch of sweet.
When the coffee was done, I poured the black drink into the mugs, and as I was finishing pouring mine I felt a arm wrap around my waist while the other one reached over to grab the pale blue mug and a head laid itself on my shoulder. I jumped a bit, startled, and turned to look at him. "Alvar? I was just getting ready to bring it to you." I said.
"Yeah, I got impatient," he said, blowing on his drink before taking a sip, "Besides, I don't like being away from you."
I don't know what it was about that tiny sentence, especially considering that we'd been married for two years already, but whatever it was made me blush. "Well, thank you I guess?" I mumbled, shaking my head, "You can be so clingy sometimes."
He raised the arm around my waist to my face and pinched my cheek. "Oh come on, you love it~" he teased.
I giggled lightly and leaned into his chest. "Never said I didn't."
He kissed my cheek and took a drink of his coffee, and I also drank mine. "You know, I love days when you're off?" he said, drinking the last of his brew.
I hummed. "I love these days too. So, did you have anything you wanted to do today?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually. Spend the whole day with you."
"Well, we're off to a great start." I said, pressing a kiss to his cheek. I had just enough time to set my mug down as he spun me around and pulled me in for a good, long make out sesh, and when we finally broke it, while catching my breath I chuckled.
"You have awful coffee breath." I said playfully.
He laughed lightly and booped my nose with his finger. "So do you, (mr/mrs/mx) Y/n Vacker."
"Hmm, we should probably brush our teeth then."
"And then can we kiss again?" he asked, as though we were just teenagers dating too young again.
I blew out a breath through my teeth and smiled. "If you ask nicely, I suppose."
He grinned and gave me a peck on my cheek, then turned to run to our bathroom and I laughed when I heard the running water as I went to follow him.
Yes, I was quite happy with the man child that I'd decided to marry.
