¢нαρтєя ηιηєтєєη - ρяαηк αη∂ тωєєzєя

Snuggling further into the warm pillow, I closed my eyes tightly, not wanting to wake up just yet.

"Hey, Al," A voice said in my ear, making me shift to look behind me, "I'm just going to put it out there, but how do you think Cameron and everyone else will react when they see you two like that?"

Like what?

Looking around me, I suddenly realised what he was talking about.

I was practically on top of Cameron, his arm wrapped around my bare waist, basically because my shirt had riled up during the night. Trying to scramble to my feet, I pried my legs from between his, my small ears turning a shade of red as Ungeld gave me a playful wink.

"Okay, that never happened," I said, rubbing my oval face with my small hands, "got it?"

"Sure thing, boss," He answered once he saw the glare I was giving him, a warning to never speak of this ever again.

Nudging Elsu with my foot, he sprung up, the girl in between his arms getting up, alarmed.

"What," Ivy started, yawning, "what happened?"

"We watched a film, and we now need to get ready for Ungeld's first match!" I shouted, trying to make it look like I accidentally woke everyone up.

I'm evil like that, I thought, mentally using my evil laugh.

"Are you constipated?"

"Shut the fudge up," I yawned, walking towards the kitchen to see that we had an hour and a half to get ready.

"Come on everyone! We have leftover croissants for breakfast!" I shouted, grabbing two and sitting down on the counter. "There's only a few left!"

That seemed to wake them all up, because a few seconds later, they were all in the kitchen gobbling down the remaining food from the night before.

"Oh you monkey! I was going to have the last one," I said, tickling Ivy as she ate the last croissant, crumbs all around her smiling face, her hands sticky from the melted sugar we had put on top of the delicacies.

"It was yummy," she said, sticking out her tongue.

"Come here, you," I said playfully, chasing her into the lounge and lightly throwing her on the sofa and messing with her hair slightly.

"Alueda! I just combed it!" She cried, trying to make me stop as she laughed.

"No you didn't, you just got up!" I said, sticking my tongue out, letting her go.

"Children, children! Please, go and get ready for the match!" Ungeld shouted, walking out the door, Elsu hot on his heel, a croissant still in his hands.

"Bye!" We all shouted simultaneously.

As we tidied up the rooms, my mind slowly drifted off, the images from my past week flashing through my eyes, the conversations and moments near Cameron vivid in my mind.

"Hey, Al!" Cam shouted from behind me, running through the hallway towards me, before falling into step next to me, both of us heading towards chemistry.

"Heya," I answered absentmindedly, not used to him speaking to me in school.

Sure, we had a great relationship at home, spent most of our time there together... But at school, it was different.

He had his jock-ish friends, I had my nerd-ish friends. Obviously, they weren't really nerds as such, since they were all very social and outspoken, but they did put a lot of time into studying and getting good grades.

"So, do you need a partner in chemistry?" Cameron asked, breaking my thoughts.

"Well, Martin did bail on me by switching schools, so yeah..." I commented, not really that bothered about having to do all the projects alone.

"Oh, uh... Well, Sam is ill today, so wanna partner up?"

Yes!

"Oh, sure!" I said, trying to tone down the bright smile that had just appeared on face.

Calm down, geez... A moment ago you didn't even want a partner.

"Okay then, I'll let the teacher know," He answered, sending me a knowing look.

Okay, so most teachers here hated me.

"Sure!"

"Alueda! We have to go!" Someone shouted, making me realise I had gone so far down memory lane I hadn't even noticed going into my room.

Fuck!

"Coming!" I shouted, grabbing my coat although I didn't really need it.

The nightmares I go through to keep a low profile, I thought, running down the stairs.

"What the hen where you doing?" Cameron asked, walking towards the car holding onto Ivy's hand.

"I was fudging flying,"

"Yeah, and I was beaching at your mothertrucker friend,"

"Cow poo,"

"Fudger,"

"Prank,"

"Fudgeface,"

"Tweezer,"

"Tw- Wait, what?"

Laughing, I repeated myself, "tweezer, as in," leaning close to him, "twat,".

"And what about prank? I mean, personally, I have never heard anythi-"

"Prick,"

Realisation dawned on him, a laugh morphing through his throat as he drove us to the school football stadium, if you could even call it that.

The field was well cut, the benches for the players neat and clean. But, once you were off the pitch, the seats for the spectators were breaking down, the metal poles holding it all together more fragile than my wings when they had first been implanted.

"Okay people! Let's give it up for the players!" Aloud voice boomed through the giant speakers scattered around the field.

Once the crackly sound had finished, a loud cheer was heard, the players running to the middle of the pitch, arms raised as the watched clapped them on.

"We're here!" I shouted, sitting down next to Elsu, "What did we miss?"

"Nothing much... Just Un going mad 'cause you hadn't arrived yet,"

Of course he did.

"Yeah, well, I'm here no-"

Suddenly, my phone beeped, simultaneously to Elsu's, making me stop half sentence and quickly grab it, reading the text written on it.

"Okay, well, I'm going to go and wish my good luck to Ungeld, coming Elsu?"

I could tell worry was etched on his face as he nodded, confusion as to why we were being given this information right now.

Once we were far enough away from Cameron for him and Ivy, I whispered, "We've got to get Ungeld's phone... If he sees this, he's not going to be able to concentrate. And remember what happened last time he lost focus? Puff! Wings out!".

"I know, I know!" He mussed, and taking a moment to think about what to do, continued, speed walking towards the seats the extra players would be using, "I steal the phone, you distract, got it?"

Nodding, I quickly placed a giant smile on my face, and running towards a nearing Ungeld, shouted, "Hey, Neddicky!"

"Hey, Bluebird!"

Waiting for him to near me so that Elsu had more time, I asked, "Ready for your big game?"

"Born ready, baby!"

I could feel the heated glares, so turning around, I saluted the three girls that came to our school, before turning around, and trying to make it as less obvious as possible, sneak a look at Elsu.

He had finished his part.

"Well, try not to break a wing, those girls behind me seem to want a piece of you, meat or metal," I chuckled, waving goodbye and returning to my seat.

"Mind telling me what's going on between you and Cameron? He's acting funny," Ivy whispered the moment I sat down in between her and Elsu, making me stiffen up.

What was going on between us?

I just hoped, for the sake of both of us, that the answer to that question was an easy nothing.
