The Tunrning Point
I was terrified. There was a human. And so close to the castle, too. I have to protect my people. I stepped out into the middle of the street, my brothers frozen in fear. The human was very tall, so not a kid. But I still had to try, my soul wouldn't have it any other way. "Human, don't you know how to great a new pal?", I deepened my voice as I spoke, trying to sound threatening, "Turn around and shake my hand". The human was too far away to reach me, but they did turn around. I could see some of the town's people peeking around corners, horrified of their prince confronting the human. Once they turned to face me, I could see it was a man, who had a baseball bat, covered in monster blood. I continue to speak never-less. "You don't have to kill any one. Just drop your weapon, and everything will be ok.".
I could see the human's hand twitch, but they didn't drop the bat. Their smile only widened. The human charged at me, but was thrown back when their soul turned blue. Zeke run up beside me, his right left eye glowing blue. He grabbed my hand, and we stood in front of the human together. This just made the human smile even more, a look of insanity is it's eyes. I summoned a few Gaster blasters to try to hit the human. When ever they got close, Zeke would flick him away. I tried to keep talking to the human, but they just kept coming. I could tell Zeke was getting tired. He wasn't trained to use his magic for long amounts of time, and his type of magic was very draining. They human suddenly charged at my side, catching us both off guard. I stumbled back, but with my leg I couldn't get away in time. I covered my head, waiting for the impact of the bat, but it never came. Instead, I heard a crack, and something fall to my side. I looked over to see Zeke. I grabbed his arm, understanding what he just did. He had stood in front of me, and let the bat hit him. I could see a large crack in his skull, he moaned in pain. I got on my knees and tried drag him back, but the human struck again. Zeke somehow leaned in front of me again, the bat breaking six of his ribs. I stared up at the human in horror. They brought the bat up again. But before they could swing, a spiked bone was stabbed through then. The human fell, Papyrus on his back and holding the other end of the bone.
Before the human died, he smirked and said, "Hehe..... too bad that, you won't be there to....... see my brother". With that, the human let out one last, shuddering breath and died. Papyrus realized immediately what he meant, and started running to the castle. There was another human somewhere! But I didn't move. Papyrus didn't see the human hit Zeke the second time, but I did. I hold my little brother to my chest, tears falling from my eyes. "W-why d-did you do th-that", I asks through my tears. Zeke shakily smiles. Zeke brought out his soul, which was starting to crumble. "I love.....you," He said, "I'll stay..... with you.......for...ever". Zeke extends his soul to Me, motioning for me to take it. As I take Zeke's soul, He crumbled to dust. Before his soul faded away, I did the only thing I could. I drew out my soul, and merged it with Zeke's. Soul merging was very dangerous, and only worked if the recently deceased monster had agreed. Before I passed out, the last thing I see was my green soul, that had a shard of light blue in its center.
(Night-Bird's POV)
I was starting to get worried. Sans, Papyrus, and Zeke have been gone for hours. I have just finished searching the east wing of the palace, and I'm going to go find Gaster, who was searching the west wing. I walked hurriedly through the halls, hoping my children have been found. I rounded the corner, and stopped dead. The hall was littered monster dust, a golden crown flung against the wall. My husband, my true love, was gone. I could feel tears slide down my cheek, but I only feel emptiness inside. Gaster was the only reason I chose to keep living after the war. Without him, it wasn't worth it. My mind dimly noted the human charging towards me, but I didn't care. Before my vision went black, I saw Papyrus run in with his bone blade already bloody. My last thought, is of my children.
