Yep that's right, what would happen if Prussia annexed France? Now I already see your questions pouring in, what was Prussia? How could it take out France? Where's my phone? Why don't I have friends?. Well good for you I have the answers to all of them (except for the last one).

Before Germany existed, yes there was such a time, Prussia existed. It was a superpower (some would say stronger than Germany even). Later however it got into a battle with France, after Napoleon the second (yes there was a napoleon the second as well, a Walmart version you could say), along with some smaller German kingdoms Prussia pushed far into Paris and after the siege of Paris, France surrendered and lost a small amount of land to Prussia. This caused the kingdom of Prussia to unite with the small kingdoms and much to everyone's horror, the German empire was born on the 18th of January 1871. Also your phone is in your hand as your reading this through it.

Of course everyone knows what happened to this Germany after ww1 and how it was partitioned. However what if instead of taking a small chunk of land, Prussia went overboard an annexed France as well?

Let's look at 2 scenarios, firstly, what if the European nations stood against this annexation? (meaning these would be the nations who were against the creation of Germany). And secondly what if the world just accepted this new weird Prussian Kingdom?

Okay so first, what if the Europeans opposed the annexation, let's begin.

So the first change is that Prussia would just annex the smaller states in the beginning. For the sake of making this interesting let's say they also annex the Dutch.

24th August 1871, Paris has fallen and the Prussians have won the war. Prussian troops quickly annex the rest of the nation of france including Corsica. France is no more as their flag is burned and the flag of Prussia is raised in Paris and all the major cities.

The next day on the 25th of August the rest of the European nations finally get the news of how the king of Prussia Wilhelm the first and his top general Bismark annexed France. The reactions of the other kingdoms were mixed.

Firstly the British reaction. King Edward the 7th quickly ordered the Brisitsh fleet to protect the English Channel and sent in troops to annex all the French colonies under the excuse that the Prussians should not have them. Edward would also send a request to meet King Wilhelm and a request to leave France as quickly as possible, Wilhelm would accept the meeting request from his cousin but would not back down from France.

Along with Britian the Austro-Hungarian empire would also hate the Prussians even more, just 5 years ago emperor Franz Ferdinand had suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Prussia, Ferdinand always thought the Prussian wanted to conquer all German speaking lands including Austria-Hungary and the annexation of the smaller German speaking states was further proof. Thus they would also send an ultimatum to back away from France and the smaller German kingdoms or else face war.

Than we would have the Tsardom of Russia. They would be overjoyed to see a powerful Prussia, the Russians had a great relation with the Prussians and a terrible relation with the British. This is why they would support the annexation and Tsar Alexander the second would send an invitation to his cousin king Wilhelm the first to his palace in Moscow for celebration (the kings of Germany, England and Russia were cousins, several generations of them were cousins including the last monarchs of Russia, Germany and England (the newer ones aren't related).

Along with Russia, another obvious lover of the Prussians would be the Ottomans. Sultan Abdul Aziz would sent his regards and would fully support the Prussians because they would be good allies against the much hated British, I would also like to believe the Ottomans would quickly take French controlled northern Algeria and Morocco as France wouldn't be able to stop them and thus the Ottomans would have a clear exit to the Atlantic.

3 haters of Prussia would be Spain, Portugal and the kingdom of Denmark (which controlled Norway at this point of time). Portugal and Spain had a good alliance with the British at this time and Denmark had also recently lost a battle to the hated Prussians, however the Swedish would love the Prussians and see them as a way to take back Finland from the Russians.

Thus the power dynamic of Europe would change, I would like to believe that the USA would remain neutral as they wouldn't really care about Europe.

1st September 1781, the rulers of Britain, Austria-Hungary, Russia, Prussia, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark and the Ottomans would meet. The president of the US at the time, Ulesys Grant would also be there as a spectator.

I believe that the British, Austrio-Hungarian, Spanish, Portuguese and Danish kings would give an ultimatum and declare that if by 1 January 1882, Prussian troops do not leave France, and Ottoman troops don't leave Northern African French territories than the newly created Entante (these 5 nations that oppose Prussia) would declare war on them both and destroy them. In retaliation the Russians, Swedish, Ottomans and Prussians declare the rise of the Eastern Powers coalition and that they would protect each other and that the Entante should back down. President Grant would try to calm things down but at that point of time the US was a middle power, no stronger than the divided nations of the Italian peninsula (in which no nation was invited to this as they weren't strong or important enough). So Grant would be ignored.

The meeting would be a total failure and war would be on the horizon.

Now I have to admit, I'm not good with writing battle scenes, I can modify already made ones but not create full new ones, but I'll try my best.

2nd January, the Entante notice the lack of a France in Europe and realize that the Eastern Powers were serious. Thus they declare war on them. Realizing this the EP (Eastern Powers) declare war on the Entante. World war 1 has begun.

The next day British troops begin operation Mediterranean as they begin the invasion of Ottoman controlled North Africa. The British army would however consist of only 350 000 instead of the usual 500 000 as the Muslims of India would not participate destroying a fellow Muslim Nation. Thus they would go against the 409 000 troops in Ottoman Africa, as a result no real progress would be made (except for that all of Algeria would fall into Ottoman hands.

Spain and Portugal would together send 600 000 troops and successfully capture Morocco, however they would be stopped as the majority of the troops (400 000 Spanish ones) would be called to the Spanish Prussian border. This is because the mightiest army in Europe, the Prussian army, comprising of about 5 million men, would be divided into 2 halves with one sent to Denmark and it's Norwegian colony and the other at Spain. The Austrio Hungarians would also be facing a huge problem as they would face 4 million troops coming in from Russia and 450 000 from the Ottomans. Sweden would also send 45 000 troops to successfully annex Norway.

While the Entante would have Naval power and a good army, the Eastern Powers consisted of 3 of the world superpowers (Prussia, Russia and the Ottomans.

The battle would rage for 8 years and finally on 2nd December 1890, the war would be over with a victory for the EP.

The Entante would be forced to sign the treaty of Germany which would have the following rules.

Firstly, Portugal and Southern Spain is now again ruled by Muslims as the reborn Almoravid people's republic which would be a puppet of the Ottomans, thus the Ottomans would create a new and improved Ummayyad Caliphate. They would also receive all the African lands up till Chad and Sudan, meaning the entire top of Africa is now Ottoman. Secondly Russia and Prussia would divide Austrio Hungary with Prussia taking Austria and Russia Hungary, thus Prussia's dream of uniting the German would be complete, Prussia would also keep France and would take the mainland of Denmark. They would also now become the German empire. Sweden would take Norway as well.

This war would totally change the balance of power as now the Ottomans and Swedish and Russians are friends instead of 2 of them hating Russia. Although I believe all 3 would be in negative terms with Prussia as they would take the Majority of Europe's land.

All in all I'm sure this Europe would not survive as more wars and conflicts would spring up and alliances never last forever.

Now let's see what would happen if everyone just accepted that France was non existant.

Well it would be mostly like the reactions of the nations when Germany formed. They would all just accept it as they could do nothing against the superpower who had taken out France. The nations who would love Prussia would be differed from those who hated them in the next few years. Except for the US, the world powers would constantly be afraid of Prussia being their neighbor and happy about them being their ally. Or maybe France would regain their independence? Who knows?
