Meanwhile, at midnight, thunderstorms stuck, windows and curtains had been flying in the air. Sajed was sitting on the rocking chair, whereas his wife kept screaming like a winning dog. It was so concerning that, they should get a couple counseling.
"Where's your prince?" snapped Khadijah.
He set silent. The thunder struck more.
"You know, he's having drugs! I wonder who will stop him! Why do you spend so much time sending him abroad!" added Khadijah.
Sajed was concerned but hid his temper. Little did he knew, a real thunder may lead to an eventual silence like a dead rose. An impact never happened before in years after the British Rule. Suddenly, Shehzad slammed the door open. He was staggering inside.
"Mom, give me a mobile phone" said Shehzad in an intoxicated voice.
He was thirteen, while the Musketeers-except for Hablu-were sixteen. Sajed and Khadijah were stunned, due to Shehzad's eyes were not into senses. It was quite terrifying that toned down Khadijah's outbursts on Sajed. Whereas, Sajed's eyes turned red and tears were coming out from his eyes. It's how a father could love his son.
"Mom, I don't want to hear you scream. I want to see you smile. You hardly smile. Dad, I need a touchscreen phone. But before that, carry me to your room" said Shehzad under intoxication.
Sajed was mum. He carried the staggering and intoxicated Shehzad. The father smelled his son's body. It was full of smokes and narcotics, as he couldn't ever imagined that even his own son would become the victim of Champu's prey towards the youths of 'Altab Nagari'.
Khadijah was petrified, while seeing his son's condition. No words were lifted there. Their only son, their only prince! Why so misguided, even after some education? Did he cut off with the rest of the gang from his childhood? Was it Champu or Shahib? Who was behind it? It was quite intense as ever! Sajed wept and sang a lullaby while petting his head. He was asleep:
My son, my prince,
You're my sunshine.
You'll be a brave warrior,
I'll show you there.
We'll be in a field,
I'll meet you there.
By now,
You'll rock-a-bye.
After that saddened night, like every day, Sajed opened the shutter. Unlike other days, his tears were coming out. Delwar looked at his unsettling, yet sad mood. He understood about Sajed's condition, and diverted his tensed mood by cooking the day's menu.
"Delwar, you've been a brother to me! You make my day, whenever I'm in the shop. But my son, my only prince! I turned into a failure!" said Sajed.
"It's not your fault! It's a teenage rage, because of your wife's constant outbursts and issues" said Delwar.
"It's true. How's your wife, now?" asked Sajed.
"She's all good. Still, my son- Atif is the benevolent son! I believe that he'll be back to his roots, if you give him a clear environment" said Delwar.
"True, but his stubborn mom, won't really understand it!" said Sajed.
"Have faith, don't hope too much" consoled Delwar.
Sajed smiled.
It was morning, while Ehsaan just finished his shower. His skinny and tall body attracted to an old man who was sitting in the rocking chair. When Ehsaan looked at him, he smiled- with happiness. The old man looked more like what the older Ehsaan would become: a jolly, cordial, youthful and loving person.
"Nanu bhai (Maternal Grandson)" said the old man, Ehsaan's grandfather lovingly.
Both the grandfather and grandson hugged each other. His name was Mainul Ahmed, was a retired senior journalist. He fought against the odds under recession in 1974. It was one moment that, he was living his life to the fullest and wisdom. Hence, mellowed down a bit, from now on, he would stay in Ehsaan's house forever.
"It's been so long. Where have you been?" said Ehsaan joyfully.
"I just came from Kashmir. As I've been travelling the world for years, I wasn't prepared for my daughter's grief. Now look, you're raised as the strong man!" complimented Mainul.
"It's all God's blessing" said Ehsaan.
"So, shall we go out?" asked Mainul.
Ehsaan agreed. He took him to 'Altab's tea stall'. It was surely a treat. Until, a lot of youths in their teens and 20s, were into a lot of touchscreen phones. It irritated Mainul to a certain extent that, Ehsaan noticed and took him to meet the gang. Hence, Hablu and the other kids were excited, looking at his 'like-minded grandfather'.
Ehsaan introduced Mainul in such a way that the gang considered him as his own grandfather. They took him to Anthony's restaurant, with so much joy that Anthony served them wholeheartedly. Like Hablu, Mainul was a voracious reader and eater. Whenever a meal came, Hablu and Mainul competed their way of eating. Hence, Mainul won the plate.
Until, Hablu and Mainul looked at the youths- especially George and Ikkhon glue into their touchscreen phone, they got a lot irritated. Hence Ehsaan and Arhaan consoled Mainul plus Hablu commanded "Hey! You rotten eggs! Get away from your smartphones! Don't you have manners?"
They kept their touchscreen phones on the pocket. Then they took Mainul to their houses, and the parents' of the boys even showered him with love. Sajed also cheered with his mood due to Mainul's outspoken behavior and accounts of his travels.
Later at night, a girl and a boy were eating fuchka-a crispy small fluffy bread stuffed with mashed potatoes and tamarind sauce. And the bike were beside the stall. Hence, they were enjoying so much that they were deeply in love.
However, eight black-dressed robbers, covered with hood and mask surrounded the couple. Their aggressiveness and cold demeanor have shook their minds and tried to escape from the clutches of them. Then, the robbers chased the couples and lure them with a banana peel. They blindfolded both the couple to the bicycle.
"Where are we going?" asked the girl.
"You'll know it...soon" said one of the robbers' growling voice.
After an hour, the couple was tied up in the chair. When the robbers unfolded them, the girl was surprised to look at an office-like grandeur. One of the hermits with a white kurta and a white cap at the top had been on the bed, while Hablu, on the left dressed as a bride and on the right posed as a groom shocked both the couple.
"Haroon?!" exclaimed both the couple.
On the other hand, the hermit was reading the wedding chant. And the robbers said "Shut up!"
After a few moments, the hermit said with utter conviction "I pronounce you, husband and wife".
Ironically, Hablu was marrying himself. The boy kept saying "He's insane! I wish I shouldn't have hit him".
The girl screamed "you're still a madcap! A creep! You son of a beggar! Get away from us! I will hit you like a cow dung!"
Hablu and the hermit made a cackling laugh. The couple was shocked and surprised.
"That's what I want to her, Henaz" said Hablu in a deep voice. "And Qamar, have this chocolate, good for your brain"
Hablu threw a chocolate bar at Qamar. As his weakness was chocolate, he ate it. His eyes widened and asked "Where' the toilet?"
The hermit showed him the toilet on the corner of the office. The girl was trying to talk but became gibberish. It was a disastrous moment for Henaz to see Hablu in that kind of outfit. She might look fair and lovely on the outside, but with a load of dirty baggage on her mind that may create a pollution through others' minds.
Hablu revealed:
"Remember the day, I first met you? Champu, also known as Tanzim Raisul Sammad was distributing drugs, especially Yaba to damage the mind of youths. Coincidentally, he was our batch mate, trying to demoralize us. After a series of protests against Champu, he was rusticated, we fell in love, engaged. Everything was perfect.
Until, your so-called boyfriend, Qamar had threatened me in phone calls, 'not to disturb Henaz' like a whiny kid. I ignored it a lot. Until, we investigated the missing girls in our college. But before Champu was rusticated, he gave a clue saying 'Does any outsider have the guts to abduct people?'
His cackling laugh helped me to suspect Dr. Mustaqim's strange behavior. Hence, I sneaked at his room and collected the evidence. Until, he ruined the plan. I chased him throughout the hallway to the street.
But Qamar hit my head, bloodshed and at the same time, I was groped by a bus. Since then, my brother and his wife, worrying about my memory loss-without any support...without any help...I was treated like a stray dog, afraid of thunder...my life, ruined. I was rejected by a lot of girls and you were my last hope, but what you've done, leading me to marry myself".
"STOP THIS MADNESS! Qamar might have been possessive but that doesn't mean I haven't loved you!" screamed Henaz.
"Pardon? I can't hear you!" snapped Hablu.
"Alright, let me tell you the truth! You were a boring guy...you were not serious about future plus, you still weren't... During our relationship, I was double crossing with the biker, Qamar, He was full of adventures. Until, I found an option to get away from you that Qamar was actually working for Champu. I was overjoyed to give you clues more, just to trap you. You're always in your world and I kept nagging you, instead of support."
Until, Qamar ran off from the toilet like a madcap, with no clothes except for the underwear. Henaz was anxious and looking at him, she was embarrassed by its actions. Furthermore, she was whining like a child.
"What happened in the toilet?" screamed the whiny Henaz.
"Poop ran fast. Presumably, jamalghota or corton tiglium seed inside the chocolate. Shit was stained in my clothes!" said Qamar, weeping like a child.
"Eww" commented Henaz in disgust. "Anyway, Dr. Haroon Shikder, you won't get a girl!"
Until, Mayesha and the twins electrocuted the couple with hard wires. Both got scared, until eight young adults: Ehsaan, Arhaan, George, Ikkhon, Anthony, Saad, Fazarul and Bablu unmasked themselves. Three girls lifted a stinky shoe and forced Qamar to smell it. He vomited, whereas, Henaz was slapped by the three girls, along with Hablu, one by one.
Until, Sajed, Mainul and Fardeen came along with the police and arrested the couples. Thanks to George and Ikkhon with their smartphones, recorded the whole incident. Plus they sent to both Sajed and Fardeen.
In the morning Humayrah called Hablu's brother, Farhan Sobhan on phone.
"Hello, Sobhan" said Mrs. Ahmed.
"Yes, Humayrah aunty" said Sobhan.
"Would you like to come back to Bangladesh? It's about your brother. He recovered from his memory loss"
Sobhan was shocked, almost about to slip-off the phone. It was a miracle!
