▪WHAT IS A SENRYU?▪

Here are a few guidelines on writing senryu:

1. Three lines with the five-seven-five syllable pattern (or something similar)

2. Subjects tend to be related to human nature–so romance, ironic human behavior, various relationships

3. Often, senryu try to spark a laugh or “knowing moment”.
