Part 1
"Run Leah, Run!" She whimpered as the loud voice echoed around her ears but she was unable to run any faster than she already was.
She did not dare turn around as the fast treacherous feet were approaching her with the speed of wind and she was sure that if she turned back they would catch her.
"Leah!" Someone yelled and she felt her throat tighten as knew the cry, that familiar tearing sound almost caused her heart to shred in pieces. She halted, not even caring that they may get here and turned around and ran in a cross manner, following the cry. She could hear those beasts follow her but she didn't let that get to her.
As soon as she neared the sight, a loud painful howled tore from her throat looking at her mother laying on the ground without any moment. Still and eyes staring at the sky.
Her mother was a human, pure human so of course one bite from the wolf was enough to kill her. With tears in her eyes she raised her head and saw that the black sinister wolf was standing above her mother's dead body and smirking with the most dark gleam she had ever seen in his eyes.
As she wanted to inch towards the body she heard someone growl at her and as she turned around she widened her eyes as someone else pounced on her to protect her. She stared as that same black wolf which was standing near her mother's dead body had attacked that small wolf. She cried as the wolf fell down defeatless and she realised that she was looking at her friend's wolf.
Before she could mourn for gee friend's death she heard a loud growl from somewhere.
"Go save your life!" Someone yelled and she could see no one there, but the ringing was constant in her ears as if someone placed a alarm near it.
With a whimper she shook her head trying to get rid of the sound but it didn't budge. As she ran the sound faded and she was sure that it was because she was running away from that area.
Before she could turn around to see her friend's life less body she was out of the territory and everything was a mix of blur and hazy for her.
"No! Please! No!" She screamed while murmuring these and with a jolt raised her resting back from her bed. She looked around with a gasp as if she was still in that area and her chest rose and fell noticing it wasn't the same place. But still she looked around to confirm and let out a sigh when she noticed it was her room. When were these nightmares gonna end? She thought and clutched her loose hair with her fingers. She wanted to yell and scream but also she didn't want to disturb anyone.
After few seconds she heard the footsteps echoing like they were approching her room and she fixed her eyes and stared at the open door with fear in her eyes. Who was it now? She thought while chewing her lips. She realised that she was laying in a bed with no things with which she can defend herself.
"Leah?" A voice echoed and soon the footsteps got louder.
"Are you fine?" Her friends voice broke the silence of the room. Then her friend moved forward and switched on the bedside lamp. It looked a bit scary because that was the only source of light in the room at the moment and it illuminated all the features of Kat clearly.
She released a sigh as soon as she recognised that it was Kat, her friend and not someone whom she feared.
She rubbed her eyes with her palms and felt like slapping herself for getting scared at the small things but she held herself. Just then she heard the footsteps of Kat getting closer towards her bed.
She tilted her head and looked at her friend standing there with worried expressions marring her features.
"Leah?" She whispered softly and she wanted to cry at her tone. She didn't need any sympathy. She already got those sympathetic smiles and hugs from the pack members already and she was fed of it.
So yeah her family was killed in front of her eyes and those killer wolves wanted to kill her as well but somehow she managed to escape and landed in this town. She didn't know the reason they wanted her dead. As far as she knew her pack didn't have that kind of rivarly with anyone. Not even her father. Her father was the most kindest Alpha the pack had ever see and to think that some wolves killed her family was absurd. But it happened and by some miracle she managed to not get killed.
As she skipped the town and came to this area, she went to the only person she knew could help her. Her high school best friend, Kat. Kat had left their town but she was still the pack member. She left the town because she was offered the promotion at E&E Technology as the financial accountant. She wanted to explore around, work before even getting into other rituals or finding her mate so she left the pack.
As soon as Kat heard the news she immediately took Leah in without any questions and for that Lead will be always be grateful for Kat. She let her stay without charging her anything. She knew it must be because of the fact that Leah's father allowed her leave the pack and even opposed others who didn't support the decision. As much as she knew her Leah's father also paid for her house. He was that much of a kind person.
"Leah?" Kat called out snapping her fingers in front of her to which she shook her head.
"It was just a nightmare Kat. I'll be fine." She answered looking up at her and gave a sad smile. She was not in the mood to talk to her about this, her nightmare or anything her family related even though it had been a month for that incident and she was staying here and screaming every night. She was surprised that Kat heard her because she was usually sound asleep.
"You know you need to talk to somebody Leah. This is not healthy. You cannot hide in here forever." Kat said narrowing her eyebrows and she was staring at her intently. Leah frowned at that.
She was not hiding. She was mourning and it was of course unhealthy but she had a reason. She lost her family and she doesn't even know if her other pack members will even take her back after that. She's basically a rogue now, given that the new alpha is not someone she meets eye to eye and also because everyone is sure that the enemies attacked the pack with the intent to kill her and having her closer to them was not all safe so they denounced her from the pack and asked her to never come back.
It was right after the funeral, she went back the second day after she ran away. Kat had come with her because it was Alpha's funeral and also to support her. The guard wolves were guarding the territory as the funeral took place in silence. Right after the entire ceremony was over they denounced her in front of everyone and did not allow to take anything from the pack house except for the clothes someone brought her. That's all.
"I don't need anybody. I need to do something to keep myself occupied. Thats it." Leah stubbornly announced while looking at Kat. She heard her mumble something under her breath but then she turned her attention back to Leah.
"Okay if that's what you think. I already got few lists somewhere you can apply. Take a look at them tomorrow. Hm?" Leah stared at her friend intently and then nodded her head. Because she didn't want to rely on her any longer now. It was already too much, the stay and free food. Now she wasn't going to ask her for anything. And she knew that Kat was right about her needing some professional help but that needed money and she didn't want to take that much amount from Kat.
"Okay thanks. I'll do." Leah nodded her head.
"Now sleep well. Good night." Kat mumbled while spreading the duvet and arranging it neatly. Leah gave her a nod even though she was sure falling asleep again would be a difficult task but she was going to try it.
"Will try to. Good night" Leah said and laid back on her bed. She sighed as her friend switched off the light to the room and walked away.
As soon as she closed her eyes, she frowned as the vision of the two identical wolves were running and that lulled to sleep.
