***KATE'S POV***

My palm slammed hard onto Tess's chest, sending her flying backwards into the air, landing on her back. I growled viciously, knowing I was coming close to changing into my Full Wolf. She roared loudly towards me, getting right back up as her teeth protruded sharply, not intimidating me one bit.

Dean stood in front of us, "Ok that's enough you two, you have been going at it for ten minutes."

I phased down and spoke, "Well we're both good fighters, what did you expect?"

He shrugged, facing the rest of the pack, "Do any of you think you could reach your Full Wolves?"

Tess smiled, "I think I can actually."

Michelle spoke, "I'll go grab some extra clothes just in case."

Tess growled loudly, and I saw her forming slowly into a wolf. It was a lot slower for her because she was doing it on command without even thinking about it. I groaned, "Tess, think about something that pisses you off."

She growled again, this time taking my advice and landing on all fours. I'm not gonna lie, the in between figure of human and wolf was pretty scary. Then soon enough I heard her spine shift for the first time, she let out a slight yelp of pain and the clothes ripped off of her body.

There she stood, the first Beta to shift completely into a Full Wolf. She was a light chocolate brown, her paws covered with snow white fur and her piercing green eyes staringright at me. I smiled, "Good girl."

I lifted my hand to pet her snout but she snapped at me, growling in response. She couldn't talk so I took advantage of this.

"Bad girl, don't you know not to snap at your Alpha?"

She growled loudly in my face but I didn't flinch, she was feeling big and bad right now but I wasn't afraid of her.

Maybe I should teach her a lesson.

I shifted then, on command, and within seconds I was standing on all fours growling loudly in Tess's brown face. She whimpered, speaking telepathically, "You couldn't let me have one good moment of spotlight, could you?"

I looked into her eyes, "No."

I looked down and saw my cream colored fur, reminding me of my natural hair color. My color wasn't intimidating at all, and I growled to myself.

Then Dean's voice bellowed through my ears, "Collin?"

My eyes shifted from Dean to Collin who was slipping off his shirt, claiming, "Sorry, I like this shirt, I don't want to ruin it." He then removed his athletic shorts, standing silently in his boxers and socks, then letting out a loud suppressed growl.

He landed roughly on all fours, attempting to reach his Full Wolf. I watched his bare back as it shifted awkwardly, watching his spine move like a snake under his skin. Specs of dark gray hair started to protrude out of his back and face, making me watch in wonder as he shifted quite slowly.

Then as if hours had passed he yelped out in pain as his spine shifted him completely onto all fours, stranding a little taller than me and Tess. His dark gray fur covering him completely, except for his snout which consisted of off white fur, along with white rings around his eyes.

He spoke, "This is AWESOME!"

I laughed to myself, looking at Stiles, wondering if he would be able to do it to. Us three should've been plenty of motivation standing here waiting on him.

After the first time you phased into your Full Wolf it was a lot easier the second go round, so Collin and Tess should have no trouble the night of the Full Moon.

Stiles removed his shirt, leaving his jeans that looked ratty and old on, seeming a bit discouraged in the task at hand. He growled, shifting instantly into his partial wolf and landing on all fours, he was trying to find the loop hole, the anger to shift him completely.

It was exhausting watching him try this, mostly because I knew he was trying super hard, but he couldn't seem to find it.

Then he collapsed from exhaustion, getting angry and slamming his fist hard into the ground, leaving a noticeable fist mark.

Gabe pulled him up, "Don't worry, you're not to only one."

Michelle walked out, handing us each a pair of pants and a shirt. I took mine in my mouth and ran along the other side of the house, hearing Tess, "I feel bad Stiles can't reach his, it's really bumming him out."

"He'll get it eventually."

I phased down when I was alone, feeling the cold air wrap around me as I tugged on my clothes, walking around the house to meet the others.

Dean looked worried but not as worried as before, he knew if something went amiss during the fight four of us could phase step in. I didn't know what to expect, I knew they grew their numbers quite large but to many people in a pack could be dangerous.

So there was no way they were training and getting along with over 8 people in their pack.

I mean we had 6 people, not including Michelle because obviously she wasn't really tending her wolf duties with the baby and we had a hard time here and there.

I could only imagine how hectic having over 6 could be.

Dean sighed heavily, and I knew what was coming, "A week left guys, just a week, and we've trained long and hard. We can win, I know we can, and we can win without losses. We're strong, all of you, and we all work as a team, a family... And we will have each other's backs next Thursday night."

I felt the sorrow set into my heart, knowing people could get seriously hurt or killed. I couldn't lose anyone here, and I knew it was a very low possibility that I could, but it still worried me.

I mean this was my pack, and I shared a special bond for each of them. I didn't want to feel the brokenness of a bond that came with a death.

Then my phone vibrated in my pocket, and I saw EMMA flashing on the screen. I smiled, looking up, "One Second."

I walked away, answering, "Emma... hey."

She sighed, "Can I please see my best friend...? I miss her."

I smiled at her voice, although I would occasionally see her in homeroom and class, we never really talked anymore. It saddened me because she was my best friend and I really did miss her, so I nodded to myself, "I'll come over."

"Good, we need to talk."

I hung up and went over to Dean, "Emma called, I need to lay the news on her."

He nodded, "Ok, be back tonight."

I ran into the woods, knowing that the sun was falling slowly, bringing the twilight setting. I made it to Emma's front door, letting myself in like I always had and finding her in the living room. She sighed, "God I missed you."

I smiled, "Miss reeking havoc among people?"

She laughed, "Gabe explained to me a lot, you've had a lot on your plate recently."

I nodded, "You have no idea."

We sat on the couch, feeling the tension that had been built up vanish. I had missed Emma so much, and I knew I needed to warn her about next Thursday because I couldn't have her in danger.

"Next Thursday..."

"I'll be out of town, Gabe told me about you wanting to babysit me and whatnot but my family's going visit relatives in the neighboring state. You won't have to worry about me."

I felt the relief wash over me, looking at her, "You have no idea how big of a relief it is knowing you're going to be safe."

She smiled, hugging me around my neck, "I know how to take care of myself."

I smiled, wondering how I ignored Emma for this long, "Just be safe."

She shrugged, "Always."

"So when are you coming back?"

"We should be back Sunday morning, the latest Sunday afternoon. Kate... what if I come back and you're-"

"No, that wont happen," I cut off her sentence, already knowing what she was going to say. I couldn't hear it come out of her mouth, nothing was going to happen to me or my pack...

I wouldn't let it happen.

I looked at her, wondering if Gabe had showed her what he could turn in to. I mean, I know I showed her but when the guys did it, it was even freakier. They grew hair along their chins and neck, making them look even more intimidating.

Rather that me just growing fangs and claws.

I stood, knowing it was getting late and I should be heading back to the camp. Emma stood with me, "Should I text you when I'm home and when I leave town?"

I smiled, "You know you should, for my ease of mind."

Then she hugged me, pulling me close into her as she sighed, "I don't know how this all works Kate... but I can't lose you. You're my best friend, I need you to stat safe and protect us..."

I felt my heart ache a little inside my chest, knowing I couldn't promise her anything. I wanted to, I wanted to ease her worry but I couldn't because I knew to expect the unexpected, prepare for the worst...

I pulled away, "Emma... everything will be ok."

She gave me a tight smile that held worry and I couldn't blame her, I knew what it felt like to lose someone close and it hurt. It cut you deep in the soul, feeling as if you were never going to mend...

But eventually you did.

And I didn't want to leave Emma with that feeling, making her mend a broken heart that should've never been broken. I would fight for all of us, I wouldn't back down and I was going to fight till none of the Vega Pack was left.

That was a promise.
