***KATE'S POV***

Dean and I were soon rushing back to the camp, we hadn't even noticed how much time had passed but when we got there Allen was there waiting for us. We stepped inside the warm house as I stood alongside Dean while Allen stood from the counter.

"Do you have some with you?"

Allen nodded, reaching into his bag and pulling out a large vile of some weird crushed up powder. Dean held the vile in his hands carefully, putting it into the light and studying it. I questioned, "What is that?"

He looked at me, "It's called Wolfsbane, a very lethal poison."

I looked at it through the clear container, wondering why and how this powder was so lethal to a werewolf. Dean tightened the cap on it even more before continuing his lecture, "Any physical contact with a werewolf and it'll burn like hell. Inhale it or eat it and your insides will burn alive, killing you within minutes."

Michelle shook her head, "And where are you going to store that?"

He turned to Allen, handing it back to him, "Allen will hold it until the next Full Moon, he'll run it around the cabin to protect you and Dustin..." his eyes looked at me and Gabe, "And a few others."

Was he talking about Emma and Jennifer? Was he planning on bringing them here?

I questioned, "You're telling me that we're going to bring them here?"

He nodded, "We will all be to occupied to watch over them, they're safest here at the cabin with Allen and Michelle."

I wasn't fond of bringing Jennifer anywhere near rabid werewolves, especially considering she was my teacher, but Dean wouldn't call for that if he didn't have a reason.

Guess I would have to que Jennifer in on the plan.

Soon everything quieted down in the cabin as Michelle started on dinner and I walked over to Tess, who was currently holding Dustin. She spoke, "So, looks like we'll be protecting more than Dustin that night."

"It's not just Miss Riley, it's Emma to."

She rolled her eyes, "Hopefully after all this we won't have to worry about much."

I peered down at Dustin, his baby blue eyes staring right back up at me while his dark hair was matted on his tiny head from sweat. I smiled, seeing Dean in him instantly, "You're going to have some really big shoes to fill when you get older."

He reacted sweetly to my voice, Tess sighed, "You have some big shoes to fill now."

I nodded, "Yea, I do."

"I can tell the difference though, I feel more powerful than before. Next Full Moon we're going to be so strong, Kate..."

I nodded, "We're gonna need it. We ran into Isis today after we went into the forest."

Her eyes widened in shock, "What happened?"

"She pretty much confirmed that we're going to end this in four weeks, it's going to be brutal Tess."

I saw worry flash across her face as she peered down at Dustin, knowing that someone could possible die. She shook her head, "I'm scared..."

I sighed, knowing exactly how she felt, "I know, I am too."

Christmas morning came soon along with a call from my parents telling me that they were stuck in the airport from a blizzard, and that they wouldn't be able to make it home. I was expecting it so I wasn't sure why it hurt so bad knowing they weren't going to be here, but I had my real family here with me.

I walked downstairs, knowing tonight I would be spending it with Jennifer. She was at her parent's house celebrating Christmas with them and I would soon get my turn to see her and let her know everything that has happened.

I couldn't wait.

I walked downstairs to Christmas lunch cooking and everyone downstairs chatting and talking happily. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood which was awesome because after the Full Moon tomorrow preparation would get tough.

Dean would want us as strong as we could be which meant conditioning, fighting, and running our asses off.

Soon we were eating and enjoying the bright mood but everyone knew everything was going to change. Running into Isis yesterday showed us that, and it showed us she wasn't giving up the fight.

She was still going to try and kill all of us.

It frightened me, and I knew it frightened Dean because Dustin was in danger, his only son. I was just as protective over him as Dean was though, and I was going to do everything in my power to protect him, no matter what.

Then the night came and I felt the need to go upstairs and get ready, I was going over to Jennifer's tonight and I was excited, I couldn't wait to see her.

It was all I really looked forward to.

I showered and shaved, fixing my hair and dressing semi nice, nothing to fancy. I hadn't gotten her anything because I felt it was a little to early for actual presents, so she was going to have to settle for me.

Which I knew she wouldn't mind.

I walked downstairs and saw Dean holding Dustin, he sighed, "Will you be gone all night?"

I nodded, "I don't want her to spend the night alone."

He nodded, "Be here bright and early, we have a lot of work to do."

I sighed, knowing bright and early meant no later than 8:00 in the morning. I walked out and felt the chill around my body, since I was so hot it really only felt like a slight chill. Nothing to extreme.

I darted off into the night, becoming more anxious the closer I came to her apartment. I couldn't wait to touch her skin, kiss her lips and just hear her voice.

Finally I made it up to her door and I straightened myself up, knocking lightly. I heard her footsteps approaching me slowly, her heartbeat was rapid, and I smelt her perfume and soap through the door. I pictured her in my head, her perfect brown hair and her smooth, angular face. Those icy blue eyes that captured me every time I got lost in them.

Then the door opened and she was smiling, her teeth glowing white as she pulled me inside and into a tight hug.

"God I missed you."

I held her against me, taking her in as I felt her warm body under my hands. I leaned back, "You and me both."

She looked at me weirdly, making me wonder what she was doing, causing an odd look to appear on my face. She tilted her head, "You seem different."

It was weird how she could already sense that, I know I dint look different, but I put out a different aura. I grabbed her hand, "We have a lot to talk about."

She led me to her bedroom, both of us falling onto the bed and continuing the conversation, "What do you have to tell me?"

I sighed, "Well, Michelle had her baby, that's why I had to leave so suddenly the other day. Which means she had to give up her position as Alpha."

Her eyes widened, "So you're...?"

I nodded, smiling, "I'm the Alpha Female now."

She sighed, "So what does that mean?"

I smiled mischievously, leaning in towards her, "Well, now I can change humans into werewolves..."

My lips touched her neck, her strong musk intoxicating my senses as I felt her heart beat quicken. She was nervous, and she sighed heavily as I kissed her softly, knowing I wouldn't be doing that anytime soon.

She looked at me, "You would change me?"

I shrugged, "Only if you would want."

She smiled, shrugging, "With time."

"Another thing... we ran into the Alpha Female from the Vega Pack. She's not backing down and she's coming after us next Full Moon. It gives us a month to prepare. Dean knows she will have bigger numbers than us but we're going to be much stronger, and he wants to protect you and Emma the night of the fight."

I felt her skin run cold, "Wait, he wants to babysit us?"

I shrugged, "It's the only way you will be safe, Emma is gonna have to come to... I can't have you taken away from me Jennifer..."

I saw her sternness soften, she knew I was only doing this for a good reason. I would never put her in the middle of werewolves if it wasn't to protect her.

She sighed, "Dean knows?"

I nodded, "He's the one that saved your live that night with the vampire."

She nodded, "I know, I recognized him..."

I looked at her, wondering why she was so sad, "You ok?"

She shook her head, "Kate... what if I lose you?"

I grabbed her hand, instantly knowing why she was so nervous, and who could blame her? I was nervous for my safety to, I was nervous for everyone, but this is what I was. I wanted to avenge my family, the people that died for a good cause.

And this is the only way I could do it, by killing.

I shook my head, "Jennifer, I promise, I won't leave you."

She grabbed my arm, "If you change me I can fight next to you, I can help..."

I shook my head once more, "No, you're not risking your life for me. I'm fighting because I have to avenge my family, and you're not going to be part of that. I can't have you in more danger than you already are."

She took my head in her hands and kissed me, letting us share this intimate moment of love. I couldn't' change her, I didn't want her fighting, I didn't want to have to worry about her like that...

I didn't want to risk seeing her throat get ripped out.

She pulled away, "Please fight hard, and please come back to me."

"I will, I promise."
