Turn Coat
So I forgot to post a chapter yesterday, my bad, so I'll post two today.
I took a deep breath, making my own bed before setting the small envelope on the pillow.
I would explain everything when I got back...if I came back.
I knew Pheonix would be angry at me for coming back without completing my mission. But if I could just talk to her, explain that Synthia wasn't that kind of Alpha..perhaps we could find a way to make peace.
If everything worked out, then I could come back, and hopefully continue to help Synthia build this pack. If anything, this was a pack that needed their Alpha, and she needed her pack too.
I didn't take any of my luggage with me, I didn't need it.
Though I did change into my regular clothes, they felt more suiting to me.
But as I left my room, shutting the door behind me, I jumped, seeing Synthia right in front of me.
"Red, Hey." I smiled. She looked me up and down.
"You're dressed pretty casual today, what happened?" She asked folding her arms.
I chuckled.
"After yesterday, I thought it best not to be wearing something expensive." I told her, before thinking better of it. I shouldn't lie to her anymore. If I was going to tell the truth in just a little while, it didn't really make sense to be keeping up the charade.
"Synthia, I, I have to go and do something. On my own. After that, I'll come back and talk to you. Because, we need to talk."
The red head rose a brow. "Where are you going?" She asked and I shook my head.
"It's not important, just a ways away from the pack lands. As I said, I'll be back and then we can talk." I placed a hand on her shoulder gently.
"I promise." I smiled at her before heading down the hallway.
I kind of regretted not having a proper farewell, but I didn't want to believe it was truly goodbye.
If everything worked out, I could come back. Then I could help Synthia build her pack back up. I wanted her to succeed.
Once leaving the houses behind me, I made sure I'd gotten passed the border before changing direction.
I didn't really look back after making it passed the scouts. I didn't want to slow down, I just needed to talk to Pheonix.
The camp was in my sights in just a few more minutes. Traveling as a wolf was much easier without luggage, and once I'd gotten back, I spotted Olivia hanging out with one of her friends. But I didn't stop to chat, I headed straight to Pheonix's cabin.
I barely remembered to knock before she told me to come in.
"Phoenix." I said as I opened the door.
Dominic was there, apparently he'd been talking to her before my arrival.
But I didn't give too much thought towards it as I took a few steps towards them, shutting the door behind me. The two of them looked at me.
"Alexander." Phoenix stood up once seeing it was me.
"We need to talk." I told her with a small frown.
